Congrats Bethesda! YOU WON! :)

*hands your award*

This is definitely the worst PC gaming interface I've ever seen.

But the game is great. *group hugs*

WASD is really the only way to navigate the menus, especially for character creation sliders. I hope they at least take a second look at it, and include some tweaks in an official capacity.

It's not that bad and will only get better with patches and mods. QQ MOAR seriously, enjoy the game for what it is.

Skyrim's UI is vastly superior to Oblivion's UI as far as I'm concerned. Oblivion's system, with it's tabbed menus (and tabs within tabs) was the worst UI I have ever seen.

Sorry, but are you blind? Aside from the freezing bars in character creation and other situations and the mouse pointer being nigh useless in the menus, you can't even store items in containers and you can't dual wield spells since the spell menu doesn't recognize the mouse clicks and yet you think it's fine!? I'm sorry, but this excuse of an UI is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, it's very disappointing.

I agree

They won't win any awards with it but the Skyrim UI is ok I think

I wish we could enjoy the game, but unfortunately, the interface is hardly usable unless you have an xbox controller, and if i wanted an xbox controller, i would've bought one of those useless consoles...

Why can't we get an answer out of them about this issue? I wonder if they realize it.

NO, OP....just NO. I have no problem navigating menus with just the mouse. The interface is fine for me. Granted it's pretty "simple", but it works.

I don't know if you guys noticed but skyrim's controls aren't optimized for the PC, it's really meant to be played with the Xbox controller so that is why i'm getting it on my Xbox.

Just to clear something up - if you check the PC support forums MANY users are finding their mouse simply doesn't work in the inventory or menu screens.

This is why some people are like "huh, dunno what everyone's moaning about" while others are seething with incoherent rage. It's buggy

For the most part apart form the sliders at the char creation things have been going smoothly for me, just bind some of the keys to other things and things work perfectly well.

My first hour i hated it! the UI of course not the game, however after 2-3 hours i finally started using the favourites with Q and have gotten use to it pretty quick.

I won't say its great but its nothing i will complain about. From what i've seen of the game so far in my 3 hours its fantastic!

One thing bugs me though, weapons and armour don't seem to break anymore. This means once i find decent stuff there is really no need to go searching for more. Although i certainly don't miss repairing it with 700 mouse clicks but still.

There is nothing wrong with the UI. I use the mouse to navigate through it all the time.

Can't dual wield spells with mouse? You must have a bug because I can.

I would without a doubt trade Skyrim's UI for Oblivion's or Morrowind's. This is on PC, of course.

Well, that's weird, I guess it must be glitched then, but I am not the only one.

The UI is working perfectly for me, only had a bit of trouble getting used to it in the character creation menu. Yes I do notice it's optimized for Xbox but now most of the players are on console's (large disappointment) so Bethesda has to keep up with time. They will probably make a PC patch soon anyway or a modder will do something. Just be happy you can play :P
