A true open world RPG?

No...i mean i understand your p.o.w. but man it's a game. I mean for someone its more than a game but at the end of the day Skyrim is just a game.
And no offense but you see stuffs way too crazy for "just a game "
When i read your idea(better your concern) i was thinking that i have the solution!!!And it's called:

Skyrim multiplayer.

What do u think?Immagine thousands of people beeing part of Skyrim...in the same time...people...no radiant ia..no ia at all...just people living in a game, yes i think i got it...this is
what u want, right?
Well i would love it...i know there is a mod Skyrim Online " http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3592 " but i dont know where its at.

I didnt say that i want to use it...i just say the existence of the mod...thats all....
When i wrote " Well i would love it " i mean the idea of a multiplayer in Skyrim(or the next one) would be amazing!

There's a thread for discussing multiplayer in the Elder Scrolls.

This is not that thread.

Well, I know what impression you might have. And I do understand you, but believe me it is rather different.

The MP aspect is well thrown in argument a lot of times, but no tell me, who is going to be the smart bandit, the thief, the gnome, the deadra, the bad guys, only there to be a challenge?
MP RPGs have the dumbest gameplay I can think of, this is just my opinion. All MP players are attracted by the "online" experience.
but what do they really experience? A bunch of x/y/z coordinates and mouse events that try to bring down a ueber boss in a raid.
Simply no. Unless technical specs make a quantum leap. And I know Age of Conan, which hasn't come for me.

I am no beginner, and probably you'll have to learn much more to be aware of this.
Well, ES could try to start with a player/player cope, or a arena, were 2-8 players could compete in popular ES style.
Bethesda is close to achieve a pretty good base for a steady roleplaying experience. By steady i do not necessarily refer to online RPG, but some aspects would be nice, a well made mix.

This was really inappropriate. I just gave my idea of what the OP was complaining.

Multiplayer doesn't address the OP's concern about enemy AI at all.

It's a separate topic, with it's own thread. And if I seem brusque about the topic, it's because the same ideas are constantly brought up on this forum. The consolidated thread for all multiplayer questions/ideas was created to stop that from happening.

Did you ever met enemies that were on a lookout post, hiding behind a rock, a ledge, behind a tree...whatever....

Yes, and the WHY they are there is UP to YOUR imagination! Let your brain do some work, to compensate for the limits of today's computer programming. ;)

I do understand what you want but it's like breathing underwater...u can but not a great thing :)
I completly agree with u with all your concerns but i just think we are in the wrong period for that.
I don't know how old are u but in the '80 we had some games and when i look at what we have now well we made an amazing progress and we never thought that we could have games like Dagerfall or Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights or Morrowind or Oblivion or Dragon Age or Skyrim...its evolution(techollogically speaking). Maybe in 6 or 7 years when the new Elder Scrolls will come out we will talk again about your concerns and find new ones. ;)

Again thx to letting me know about that other topic...but i don't care.I'm not a multiplayer fan...i never play multiplayer's games. This is why i love The Elder Scrolls! I just gave an opinion of what i thought was the best solution to answer the OP's concerns...
Everyone can express theirself right?

Well said! Gaming and technology evolves continually. I think some gamers just see what's in front of their face, right here, right now and don't bother to look back and really appreciate the games of today! I've played all the old, original Half life series, Neverwinter Night games, Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, Dungeon Siege, Morrowind etc Even just comparing Morrowind to Skyrim is a huge leap. It's amazing what companies are capable of today and I can't wait to see what games we will have in five years. :)

I`m impressed by the technology. I`m impressed by the graphics and speech. But near all of it is graphicy, animation, sound- there`s not really anything of substance. We are overwhelmed with colours and sound, but where`s the substance?

We actually get less gameplay than in the days of Morrowind, The Witcher, Baldursgate 2 and even NWN, etc.

How are you measuring gameplay? With a special meter?

Because if you're measuring it in actual time played, then I'm still getting hundreds of hours, just like Morrowind.

I'm happy with the amount of gameplay in this game...more than happy...

Did you ever met enemies that were on a lookout post, hiding behind a rock, a ledge, behind a tree...whatever....
Did they assume the way your going and try to setup a trap in advance, an ambush before you reached the place?
Did they try to follow you in a certain distance just to attack you when you are already engaged by other creatures, and use their advantage from behind?
Did they try not to kill you, but to go for a certain loot and then run away?

No. The answer is no. and I could ask hundreds of this questions, and the answer still would be no, no, no
If some game actually does this and has as open world as Skyrim or any other TES game, could you please give me a link to it, i would be very interested in playing a game like that.

Not that someone thinks I haven't tried to look into CK yet ( every time I startup the CK I say hello to the error popups ... i might give them names), indeed it could solve some problems,
but one of the first commands i was looking for was to achieve a state of awareness of the NPC regarding the armor I wear and the race I have, or my companions.
And there we go, where is the command for looking up the armor the actor is wearing...nevermind. Funny, I cant believe gamesas never heard of OBSE.
How do THEY know how good their game is?

My frame of reference are:

Planescape Torment.
BaldursGate 1 & 2.
The Witcher.
Morrowind.
Warband Mount and Blade.
Even Dragon Age (to a lesser extent).

These games are not as openworld as Skyrim (except for Morrowind and Warband), and are not as graphicy glossy but they more than make up for it in gameplay and depth.

Yes i agree but those are linear games...u can't compare with Morrowind(as u already noticed) or skyrim...The storyline and gameplay were their primary elements.
For me the reference is BG2 for these kind of games but i would never exchange the feeling of " freedom " that i have in skyrim for a perfect storyline or a better gameplay.

I remember Bleak Falls Barrow to be a good example.
The two bandits at the lookout post, I did left behind drop dead, should have been discovered by the bunch of bandits chasing me away from the bleak falls barrow I wanted to enter actually.
And I knew, this time the bandits react to corpses of their own, and THEY will fortify this tower, at least until the next morning.....they will!
I should have stayed in riverwood, and believed that until today.
