Unofficial Minecraft Thread #68

That's pretty much what we just reverted to. We'll still have the two cities, but they'll be working together.

Well I always thought that was the best map. The only thing that needed to be fixed for it to be an "RP" server is that the bandits would come into the city and help the citizens out then kill them a few moments later :P

The restrictions we had in Frostfall did not limit people's imaginations. It forced them to use their imaginations in a different way, it forced people out of their comfort zones and resulted in a really amazing aesthetic.
It was certainly the most beautiful town I'd played in. The bleak concrete and snow and the collaborative economy really felt unique.

So, to chime in for those not yet to see New Frostfall's differences. I will attempt to ask all future buildings in or near central square to maintain the aesthetic that it maintained as 'Frostfall'.

Changes made since I took Papafern's position.

A. Communism is no longer the cities official system.
B. All banners and communist slogans are being and to be removed from the facades of public buildings, personal homes may keep their red carpets or slogans as they see fit.
C. Any shop that wishes to open MUST get a review first ensuring they keep to the aesthetic already in place, this is not an unreasonable request.
D. Peace treaties have been forged with Bridgeport and Stonehold. Bridgeport has an embassy located in what was once the 'Ministry of Architecture'
E. All boardings on windows have been removed in an effort to revitalize the city and remove the feeling of delapidation in places.
F. All citizens are asked to respect the rights of nonhostile bandits personal property, failure to do so is punishment pending.
G. All citizens are permitted personal property chests with lockette locks per Bonemonster's lockette rules. Houses might be built, but don't expect me to grant you permission to make one person manors, we have two apartment tenants for a reason. Use them.

While I know these seven points may sound like alot, I'm just trying to provide a peaceful city and gameplay in the midst of the drama that has arisen lately.

Thank you.

I think people will like my changes, seeing as aside from my general grip over the city, the day to day is fairly independent. My restructuring is a nice mix of many things, how things will work out in the long run is up to the users, but I think my moves are fair and benevolent.

Bridgeport will be enforcing this rule now as well.

Stonehold is now an open settlement in the North. A metro link has been established with New Frostfall, and metro connections may also be established with the College and Bridgeport if so desired by the leaders of those communities.

As I just said in-game, I'd like to thank everyone that's been pulling together to sort stuff out on the server today. It's given back a glimmer of the old spirit of the server. People have been doing things out of a sense of cooperation and fun, rather than arrogance and self-entitlement. Keep it up guys, and enjoy. I appreciate it, and I know Bone will too. Maybe soon we can have nice things again.

The cities can still compete.

Not in war, but in otherthings.

Building contests, design contests, agriculture contests, Spleef tournaments, and overall to do better economically than the other towns.

As long as the unique identity and cultural aesthetic of the People's Republic is retained, it should still thrive after the regime change.

Maybe I can rebuild the Communist Party and advocate for peaceful economic reform. Now that the Ministry of Culture is finished (which will probably just be a municipal swimming pool now).

Oh good grief, I'll be Boris Yeltsin.

This. If any sort of competition among the cities should arise, it's to kill the Enderdragon.

The one who deals the killing blow should get a custom DOVahKiiN title, IMHO.

I say we have a race to the End.

I like this idea, but I also like the idea of everyone joining together to conquer it as a team, and I can't decide which one I'd rather do. I guess we'll leave it up to the NF people.

Also, anyone who wants to is more than welcome to set up roads/metro tunnels between cities.

Suppose FrostFall has the advantage there then, since I was the first to strike out and find a Stronghold today. If only that ravine hadn't eaten it and the portal room. D:

So there's no portal room? Or the room's just floating in the ravine or something?

No portal room AND no library. The room with the stone slab archway was the stronghold core (just like the well is the core of the Testificate villages, and the large dirt-floor room is the core of the mineshafts), and there were only hallways and a well room with a few chests in the hidden section of the stronghold below it.

I suppose if you throw an eye in the stronghold, it will point you to where the portal room was supposed to generate.

This makes me wonder: Are the eyes programmed to seek out the portal rooms, or do they seek out the stronghold cores?

It is true. The Five Knights of Bridgeport have ventured into The End and returned with the Dragon Egg.

Hi everyone, for some reason I was un-whitelisted from the server. Was that a mistake?

The whitelist got reset somehow after a crash. Just post your MC username again and an admin will re-add you.
