Probly cuz Spout has built in shaders. Unless you aren't installing them in your Spout. Then IDK.

Spout crashed me, and I uninstalled it. So that's not it.

Those of you on the Spout server, DO NOT change your class to "TestClass". It would not be beneficial to you at all, so don't even try it. having problems with the new skills NOT adding themselves to the config. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Does anyone play Total Miner: Forge? Minecraft refuses to work in Windows 8 for me (says bad video drivers, even though they're up to date as of 3/15/2012, updated by Windows Update itself..I rolled back the drivers til November and get the same thing) so I bought Total Miner on the Xbox 360.

It's pretty similar to Minecraft so far, but is there a day and night mode? I thought there was supposed to be but I haven't seen it turn night yet. I'm not sure if I have all the settings set up right. I'm on dig deep mode and have the world attribute set to creative (I read online that this setting only determines what equipment you start with). I haven't seen any enemies at all. I even went into a massive cave which just kept going down and down forever (and I spent an hour trying to dig myself out of it. Still at a depth of 300 blocks.. plus nearly got killed by a handful of earthquakes).

I'm probably going to get Minecraft for the 360 when it comes out, but I'd still rather it work in Windows 8. I also have the Pocket Edition on the iPhone which is alright but it's hard to do alot on that small screen and with the controls. I wish they'd release it for the Kindle Fire, that might be better. I know you can get it on the Fire but it involves either flashing the Kindle or downloading the android phone version somewhere on the internet and running it with this installer app on the Fire which of course isn't legit.

Well there's your problem. Windows 8 is just a preview, pretty much a beta. Still a lot of stuff they need to iron out.

Well Minecraft needs to get on it, because it's not a problem with Windows. EVERY other game and program I have works absolutely fine. My drivers are fine, everything is fine and works better than it did in Windows 7. If the only way I can play Minecraft is on the Xbox so be it. I'm sure I could get used to it.

Also, IndustrialCraft 2 is just about ready for 1.2.4, and will add a full brewing system and coffee.

Could someone help me with my issue? I haven't played Minecraft in a long time and when I try to play after getting patched, the game briefly stalls for 1/2 second every 2 seconds. Its really annoying and changing the settings does nothing.

Do you have http://stereopsis.com/flux/ installed? I had an issue where there would be a serious stutter every few seconds until I uninstalled it. Also, mess with your FPS limit in minecraft.

My class is stuck as default, I know I have an account in the server website, and I've linked the accounts before on older maps, but now whenever I type /sync it says unknown command and I stay default.

Any way to fix this?

Waiting on the forum bridge to update, so all classes are set manually.
You are fixed to the correct class now.

Default Classes have been completed and uploaded and should be chooseable when the server auto-restarts. It is also strongly recommended that you use Spoutcraft as you can hotkey commands so that you don't have to type them out. The Classes are as follows:

Citizen
White Mage
Black Mage
Summoner
Rogue
Warrior

To view more details on each, head over to the server forum. I was going to put spoiler tags but it doesn't work very well with Notepad++ copy/paste.

I will be adding more classes over the next few days. Most of them will be Higher Tiers of these that require 1 or more of these to be mastered.

EDIT: You can also bind skills to items using /bind skillname You can unbind them the same way.

Presumably as some sort of April Fool's joke, I logged into the server, caught fire, and died before reaching water, losing around 16 diamonds, half a stack of lapis, half a stack of gold, a diamond pick, and a load of redstone and cobble...

Classes fixed. Also, Spoutcraft users might get an interesting surprise upon exiting the program. They got me with it

You may have to exit through the menu in order for it to activate tho

Tried lowering the graphics down to the bare minimum and working your way back up from there? May not look like it but Minecraft can be a strain on your system.

The real issue isn't graphics, the real issue is the world loading and etc. Part of the reason I don't play SP aside from loneliness is that I don't get to do anything without playing Slideshowcraft. Since the Server handles a lot of the strain, I can play MP easier.

In that case I think reducing the render distance might solve the problem. I think. I donno.
