Thank you for all your hard work! Just a thought, why not include OBSE I mean SKSE with USP. That way it be comes standard.
Because ideally we shouldn't NEED a Skyrim script extender. :)

Because ideally we shouldn't NEED a Skyrim script extender. :)

I think that'd only happen is the script system is extensible by default somehow. Or dynamic enough not to miss this or that feature.

Ah, before I forget...something to fix that I don't know if it has been mentioned, and that are a real pain in every RPG out there:

PERKS-NOT-WORKING (or not working as intended). I REALLY hate that.

Unfortunately, and you can probably guess why, I'll be "late to the party". Probably by several months. I've decided to go from one extreme (collector's edition) to the other (not buying it until it's half-price several months after release through Steam, if at all.)

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1221134-unofficial-steamdrm-thread/page__view__findpost__p__18363287 or in its successor thread in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showforum=18 or one of the threads in the Skyrim forum. Please don't discuss it here.

I will be contacting Quarn and he can take over the thread if he wishes, so it can remain open, unless it shouldn't.

Off to Oblivion Mods to work on the UOP some more. Not as much of a time limit now.

Kivan, your mod should be the only mod to ever come to consoles. Your UOP made Oblivion so much more enjoyable! You put the devs to shame post launch!

Have you settled on an online defect management system yet? Bugzilla is free if you can self-host. I'm not sure what free, hosted solutions are available (if any).

Kivan already has one set up here: https://unofficialskyrimpatch.16bugs.com/projects/7078

Any and all Skyrim bugs should get reported there with as much detail as possible.

I agree with that signal-to-noise ratio comment, wholeheartedly. Glad to see you guys are working on this already, Kivan & Quarn. I may even lend a hand, since I skipped Oblivion.

Nice... I noticed that there was a Skyrim Mods forum already, and what should I find there but this? Excellent work by the moderators who appear to have been patiently tracking all the diverse mod threads from the other forums until this one opened.

For now, as Bethesda has committed to improving patching, please use the tracker that Arthmoor linked above (and it's in my sig) to report any findings. We'll be verifying them and sending them to the developers. If they don't fix them, then we will.

Please:
1) Be detailed: who/what/when/where/why/how
2) Get the form ID (is the console still opened with ` ? ) for in-game static objects.
3) 7-Zip (preferable) or ZIP any uploaded files. That ensures that they aren't corrupted as well as saving space.

When I get home I will rewrite the first post.

Many, many thanks to this team. Thrilled to hear that you're back in the saddle for Skyrim. I was a late-comer to Oblivion, and I can only imagine how much my game was improved by your work. Thanks again.

So far I haven't seen any bugs, but I haven't played that much.

Anyway, good luck with the project. I'm surprised you're still going. Patching one game was enough for me.

Edit: Actually, I remembered one from my wife's playthrough. Added it to your bug list site. Seems I'm the first to post a bug there.

Great to see so many well-known projects being continued for Skyrim, especially this one. My data folder would be severely lacking without an U*P. (Not sure if that's a good thing, eheh)

Good luck and keep it up.

Fix for the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1256362-shimmering-lod-textures/page__pid__19157493#entry19157493 mountain textures would be pretty awesome. Dont know if it's even possible, wasnt fixed for FO:NV, AFAIK.. The LOD is probably those games biggest faults, bet it will be very buggy to use when doing landscape edits or for example adding trees, just like FO:NV where it was impossible to generate new LOD :/

I must say - considering how the game is being managed by Steam, I doubt an unofficial patch will be needed for anything but the most minor of things until, like, a few years have passed and Bethesda have announced Fallout 4 or something. Unless Bethesda drops support for it right now, which I don't see happening.

Bethesda is hardly well known for releasing patches, i dont see how it relates to it using Steam.. the unofficial patches for all their games fixes thousands of bugs, some very minor but some quite substantial. They're kind of essential i'd say..

Yes, but I think it's safe to say we'd REALLY rather Bethesda fix their own bugs which is why there's a proper bug tracker and arrangements to report tracked items to the devs for resolution.

Glad to see you've already set up an issue tracker, was going to suggest that.

Any plans to start doing a complete cell audit? Maybe including interiors this time?

"Audit" now causes me the same sort of shudders it does in the taxation context for most other people. ;)

I doubt it's going to need it really, with everything being hand placed at least in the outdoors, but we'll see.

Edit: also looking forward to your finds. Don't hold back... keep us busy. You have quite the eye for detail.

Thanks! :) The only pay we get is the appreciation so I am always happy to know it was worth it.
I never played Oblivion on PC so never saw your work, however I have heard many good things about you. It's great that there are people out there with the knowledge but more importantly the time and enthusiam to make the game better.

Maybe Bethesda should just ask you to work with them from the beginning to fix bug so they don't appear in the first place.

Thankyou for your time :hugs:

Thanks Kivan. Did I read that Qarn is back, too? Cheers to the TES V UOP (I have a feeling that it will need it!)
