1.8 UpdateDragonborn DLC discussion thread #46

Post » Tue Nov 06, 2012 7:59 pm

On the 20 dollars thing.....20 dollars is unusually high for a DLC nowadays. Average DLC is between 800 and 1200 points. 1600? That's rare. Shivering Isles was around six years ago, when DLC on console was a new thing. They didn't know how to price it, so 30 dollars for SI could have seemed reasonable back then. Especially when you consider what they were charging for Horse Armor. It was adifferent time in the games industry and different time in the economy. Judging the DLC's content based off the price seems very sketchy to me. Consider that Point Lookout and Broken Steel individually offered more content than Dawnguard at 800 MS points. If anything, at 20 dollars, Dawnguard could easily be seen as over priced. Would have been fine as an 1000 point product. You could say that Dragonborn's price is compensating for Dawnguards over pricing.

Lol Horse Armor. Wasn't that like five bucks? Hearthfire is five bucks.

No idea but I bet it gets really mad when you start burning the library books with your fire spells.

And look how much more there is in Hearthfire.

And even if this DLC isn't the "Big SI-esque" one we've been waiting for(Despite them having a year to work on it) perhaps that just means we'll get a third DLC down the line.

It's a lesser Daedra of HM. You don't need a moderator to tell that.

Please do, because ive been hoping they would incorporate spears in for a loooong time. I hope you find some throwing spear animations as well.
Everything that was new between 1.7 and 1.8 has been posted (see proof links)
I just wonder if someone knows how to parse the combined animation files and if the position of the elements determine what they relate to.

We know of two achievements. But there will likely be 10 because one achievement is marked as the 75th one and we have 65 achievements at the moment.

Is that a dragonshout that the PC is using against those zombies? It seems to paralyze them or something.

Yeah, I am still hoping and expecting 1 big SI expansion pack. Skyrim is too good of a game and too successful to not give it a full expac. So very few games can even afford to risk making an expansion pack, but Skyrim is a guaranteed thing, so it is a great opportunity to do something most devs/publishers can't risk doing.

I think it's the shield perk slowing down time for some moments.

No idea what that second part means, but thanks for checking man. We appreciate it. But i hope spears is for PC and not just Rieklings, that would be a huge bummer dude.

It doesn't really look like time is slowed, but really stopped. To me at least, but it very well could be that. I've never seen that perk in action.

It almost seems like it's acting like an Oblivion "Staff of Sheogorath". I could be wrong though.

Guess we know what the Chieftain animations are now. It'll be that nord guy who was speaking in the video.

Miraak death animation is probably the animation for that dragon dying at the end of the vid, no? It looks different than normal dragon soul absorbing..

correction! This is a great one actually, that Dragonborn is absorbing 3 dragons. Not one. Look how many there are once it pans upwards towards him.

For me it looks like the perk.

Note the effect though (a mini blast of sorts), the slow-time shield perk doesn't give off that kind of a effect, IIRC.

Hm. Now that you mention it... I may be wrong about it being the shield perk. Maybe I will check it out tomorrow.
