Want Patch 1.1 back? This might work.

Post » Fri May 18, 2012 10:56 pm

The only patch I had to download was: 34F5B6C3

Just clear your Xbox 360's cache to get rid of all the updates, reverting Skyrim to v1.0

Then make sure you don't have any Skyrim update files on your USB drive, before you put 34F5B6C3 on it. If you have any higher versions, they will be used by Skyrim instead of 34F5B6C3.

Okay I figured it all out. Thanks for all the help!

The dead dragon in Windhelm remains. UGH!

I still have yet to test 1.2, that'll be next.

** edit **

I just realized... you have to leave the flash drive that contains the 1.1 patch in the USB port on the Xbox to play now! Crappy!!!

I don't believe that's true = the cache updates are taken (removed) from the usb drive on first play.

Not for me.

I just restarted the Xbox, removed the flash drive containing the 1.1 patch, and started up the game and in the bottom right corner it says 1.0. Then it tells me I cannot load my game because it's from a newer update.

Unless I am doing it wrong? I selected the USB with 1.1 on it when it asked what memory I wanted to use for the game. Am I supposed to copy something over to the HDD?

No you do have to leave it because if you accept the DL your playing 1.2 if you don't accept an don't have the USB in your playing without any patches but if you don't accept the DL then select your USB you should be playing patch 1.1.

Yep!

And I select my HDD where my save game is, and leave the flash drive in the port with 1.1 on it, and my 360 automatically reads the 1.1 patch and loads my save game. Don't know how to word that correctly, lol.

Try:

1. Take the game out of the tray and remove the flash drive with 1.1 on it.
2. Clear cache.
3. Restart Xbox.
4. Put game in disc tray.
5. Put flash drive containing 1.1 in USB port on the 360.
6. Start Skyrim.
7. On the main game menu, select the flash drive as the memory unit for the game.

Thats correct, just load up a save game (from your hard drive) with the flash drive connected, only once the save is loaded will it show the updated (flash drive) version.

Also, don't clear the cache with the flash drive plugged in, as (in my case) it also seems to clear the updates off the flash drive.

I have tried every suggestion on here and every time I attempt to load a saved game, no matter which one, i get
"This save game was created on a later version of skyrim please download updates"

too bad really, i'll miss my level 48 Nord......what a disappointment

thanks to everyone for the suggestions and help though

I did this, so I figured I that might be why none of my more recent games would load. But I also have a save-game from when I was only Level 3 and that hasn't been used or even opened in about two weeks. Same message as other user, though... "Can not load game because of a newer version..." or something to that affect.

Plus, I just saw the fix from Bethesda will be out next week -- seems like an eternity, since nothing (significant) was wrong with my gameplay until 1.2 came out. I really can NOT believe that no one figured out that all resistances were eliminated in this patch. I could still play if it weren't for this new MAJOR bug, where lowly wizards can now wipe me out unless I have 10K in health potions on hand... But I'm starting to rant :P

I fear fo everyone who does this. I think you may be setting yourself up for a necessary delete of your save files.

Ok, I'll just ask this once then. Did you clear your cache while the USB drive was plugged in? Because it sounds like you don't have any patches on the USB and I have found out they will be removed if you clear the cache with the USB plugged in.

This was how it worked for me. *IT IS IMPORTANT YOU FOLLOW IN ORDER*

1. Get USB loaded with ALL the patches except the latest one. (They don't show up as actually being on your flash drive once you plug it in to your XBOX but they are there)
2. Start XBOX
3. Clear cache (Settings, Memory, Options, Clear cache)
4. Plug in Flash drive with patches.
5. Load Skyrim
6. Refuse automatic update
7. Load save game from hard drive (if it loads save game, you know the flash update has worked otherwise you will get the 'Save game not compatible' message)
8. Check version number by pressing start.

As I say, this is the EXACT process that works for me. I hope this helps.

Glad it's working for you now, but don't count your chickens just yet.

I've had multiple issues with this solution and it certainly isn't playing like it did on the original Patch 1.1 eg Texture problems, frequent hard crashes, no walking animations for most NPC's and intermittent pauses when searching for items (chests, corpses, cupboards etc.)....

.....sorry for the dampener....

If we didn't download the 1.2 patch then we are still good we won't have to delete our saves if this new patch works without messing anything up.

Why is everyone downloading every single patch? I only had to download the one patch and it's working fine for me, v1.1

I think because people were not so sure which was the right patch to get. I got them all as it took an extra 30 secs of my time rather than turning on the XBOX and fiddling around with the flash drive only to find out I had the wrong one.

Thanks for posting the link here. Such a shame that once again the community has to do what a developer can clearly not.

Kind of pisses me off to see crap like this comment. This game is huge and can only be tested so much. You want them to find all the bugs then wait about 10yrs and then MAYBE it will be perfect.

Didn't work. For some reason it says the flash drive that has 1.1 patch is empty. There's 0 memory used on it according to my 360. So I was like ?!?!?!?!?, then I loaded my game and while running around Solitude I yanked out the flash drive and the game shut off and went to dashboard. Which tells me in fact despite what my 360 says there is a 1.1 patch on the flash drive.

Yeah, silly me. I actually didn't think that the patch would destroy the game.

Thanks for the fix. Weird thing though. I had to clear the cache three times to get rid of 1.2. I'm not joking. I disconnected from the Internet and cleared the cache, then started the game and saw the version was still somehow 1.2.11.0. I tried again with the same result. The third attempt finally worked.

I thought I'd finally get around to resetting my password on here so I could thank the contributors of this post for getting my 1.1 game up and running.

I don't mean to sell short, 1-up or ride the backs of posters here but I noticed confusion among posters as well as differences with what works for individual Xbox 360s and wanted to share what worked for me;

If the horizon method does not work for you (I had no luck with it) download XTAF as ZeroG states in his post on the first page and follow his instructions to the letter. Download every version from the xbuc site in jviex5k's post (1st page) up to and including the version that reads 49A1477A. Clear your Xbox cache. Safely eject your USB from your PC and plug it into your Xbox while in the dashboard. Remain offline and load Skyrim. As others have posted you will not be prompted for any kind of update as the boot order defaults to the USB drive. Once the game loads check for the game version in the bottom right corner. If you see nothing you are in good shape. Confirm version 1.1.19.0 once your game has loaded. I have to keep the USB drive connected in order to maintain version 1.1. If I remove it the game will revert back to 1.0 upon next load. I assume this is in issue for a few people based on what I've read. Good luck and thanks again to everyone who has contributed to this thread.
