Well, it happened. How do you feel about Elder Scrolls onlin

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 12:13 pm

How is this going to work exactly? Is this going to be available for PC and XBOX? Are Xbox users going to have to deal with PC users exploiting cheats and hacks, making them game inherently unfair? Also, I agree with the single player format for TES. This should not morph into a multiplayer game unless PC and XBOX/playstation users are on solid equal footing.
To the best of my knowledge, the GI page says PC and mac for now.

Cactus216, you are posting about something you have no clue about.

This has nothing to do with single player TES games. Stop posting.

Because no one has ever hacked an XBox, am I right? Just saying. Cheats and hacks are cross-platform.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOW DARE THEY??? If this MMO is the poop i expect it will ruin TES for me... Now i've got to buy a PC that can play maxed out graphics on TESO... The thing that made TES awesome was the fully functioning world, an ME being SPECIAL, You wont even be able to kill city NPC's. HOW DARE THEY??

I said I read their post on Bethblog.I'm still upset about this.

Well as the famous phrase goes Dead is dead and the elder scrolls is about halfway there.

I dunno what I feel about this yet, my arguments vs proponents of MMO's/Multiplayer was it would F up the series, but this is being done by another group. thing is ME1's writer Went to developing TOR ....and you see where that went

My Inner Fanguy dictates I acquire anything made by Bethesda (READ BETHESDA, not BGS) that has TES in it....

They allow for MMOs from a technical standpoint obviously but Microsoft and Sony have stymied their development

As long as there is true solo content and it is not expensive I will be happy. However, I think it would make better sense if they made a Fallout 3 MMO. That type of world would be a much easier fit and it has tremendous potential.

Well with Guild Wars 2 coming out, I probably won't want to play another inferior MMO. Especially if it carries on the traditional MMO style. So I'm not entirely excited to hear about this because I think that's the way they'll be heading.

If I manage to get bored with Guild Wars 2 by that time, I'll happily play this. Depends on how much it costs and how good it is I suppose. I like the lore, so as long as they stick to that it should be decent enough. 1,000 years means what..2E..so before Uriel VII. Cause it's been 800 years in the 3E and 4E I think.

Welp I was wrong, should have actually used some proof with my math there. 604 years in the last 2 eras, and it'll be before Tiber Septim was around, I always thought he came in in the 2nd Era.

If it will be true to the Elder Scrolls formula, I'll love it.

If it will be another WoW clone, then they better not come to Hungary. /jk. No, they seriously shouldn't come. Just joking ;)

not a fan of this, the elder scrolls to me is always about the individual experience, its your world, your experience, and youre the hero of your world. now there will be a million heros running around in your world. of course you can play solo but usually in MMO's to get good gear you need to get into harder dungeons that you need others to go with you and get. which ruins the single player experience.

i just think fallout would have been a much better universe to put an MMO in.

Not excited at all; mainly because I've been there, done that. Nothing will be as fun as your first time, or first 3 times.

I dont think we cant do that in the MMORPG D: but who knows... Dont think NPCs will no longer play a large role, maybe they will be stupider then ever.

I'll keep an open mind, may try it out... not of fan of MMO's but I love TES. As long as this doesn't effect the single player games, then I won't complain about them making it.

Hopefully it will be a sandbox MMO and not another themepark.

I've been away from the forums for a while, but this seemed to be a good reason to come back.

Cautiously optimistic. Generally positive. I've maintained that an MMO is a great way to explore themes, features, and places that a singleplayer game can't. New lore is also great.

Absolutely dreading the flood of "its an mmo it automatically svcks" posts that will inevitably come. Gstaff, Nick, and the moderators don't get paid enough.
This in it's entirety explains how I feel.
I'm fairly new to MMOs, I had an EVE sub for half a year and I tried a few F2Ps and the TERA beta.
I hope this game is successful.

Unsurprised, as I knew it was coming.

I'm very curious to see what it's like, even though MMOs aren't really my thing.

I'm curious to see if they'll follow the boring but profitable way of the theme parks, or if they'll actually give us something more "hybrid" and akin to sandbox titles, true to the spirit of the single-player franchise. We'll discover that soon enough, I guess :)

I hope too D: I mean i was hoping for them to make DLCs in skyrim wich allows us to go to a part of another province but now... with elder scrolls online :( Dont see that happen... hope it never affects skyrim and upcoming TES games.
