way different cores.

The new 360 is slowed to the old 360s performance though. They cant have devs making games for a console and not having it run on an older system. The only thing that changed (to the user) is the look, (besides the HDD size) the performance is the same.

And it doesnt just depend on the TV. The GPU in a PC is very important here too. The consoles GPU is still based on 5 year old tech.
On topic, I have it ordered for the PC. Mods, better graphics, and keyboard/mouse.

That's the CPU, and the difference is in the cooling system. As in... the cause of the RROD. The first image is of a stripped CPU (or GPU?) without its cooler, in which the chip will destroy itself in seconds from its waste heat without. The second appears to be one with a cooler. Both appear to be on articles or forum convos about five years old.

If there was a drastic improvement in the CPU or GPU performance, there would be an announcement to that effect and a drastic increase in price of the core hardware. Has there been an announcement that the X360 got a drastic video hardware upgrade?

Please... just... stop. For your sake.

PS3. That way I don't have to worry if my machine will run it, or whatever.

I'm sure my computer could handle FONV, but with only 2GB of ram, I just don't know how fast it would be. Besides, I played FO3 on my PS3 and it works fine with the controller. The only downside is no mods. but oh well :)

PS3 on my 46" Samsung LED. I'd love to play on a PC, but the kind of gaming rig I want to build is not going to be cheap.

I'll probably wind up buying a larger 3D TV first, since the PS3 was recently patched with 3D Bluray support and has a few stereoscopic games already in it's lineup.

Well... PC. I really can't imagine palying on something else. Consoles and the like have always appeared somewhat criude if compared to a PC to me, so... Besides, with a PC, there's expansions & add-ons to look forward to!

Ummm.... there is DLC for consoles as well in case you didn't know that.

But, I will be playing on PS3. My PC can run the game but I rather PS3. Im going to miss out on mods which svcks, but I can do without it. simply cause playing NV on PC is the same as navigateing on my desktop ( point and click), a controller feels better gameplay wise. The only games I play on my PC is RTS games. For those of you how have a hard time playing first person shooters on consoles, dont blame consoles, blame your self for not haveing the dexterity in your thumbs or fingers to play it. PC got mods and consoles got trophies/ achivements, dont have to worry about lag and CPU requirements. But everyone is entitled to their opinions and source entertainment.

In the end we are all playing the same game.

PC, because my PC is a sixy beast (I just got me a GTX460). And, it's hooked up to my very sixy HDTV. Also, because I can pull off headshots like a pro with a mouse, but I can't hit a Behemoth's backside from 10 feet away with a controller.

RE: the PC vs console graphics questions, it isn't even just about the hardware--PC version has higher-res textures (or at least, the ability to run the textures at higher quality settings).

PC because my PC is very good. I have a PS3 and a Wii and in the end nothing is better than a mouse for FPS. If only PlayStation would add sell a Playstation mouse and I wouldn't have to resort to crappy third person software I would play all my FPS games on the PS3. The consoles are good for getting DLC content easy... and yes there is SpitFish and other options for mice. However I bought one and now its in storage because I got sick and tired of trying to adjust it to work properly. Easier to just upgrade the PC's graphics card and hope more FPS games are on the PC.

I don't blame consoles, because it's not entirely their fault. Unreal Tournament allows you to plug in a mouse. I don't understand why don't all Developers allow the same thing when they port games to consoles. Believe me my thumbs have adjusted to the console shooters but I will always be better with a mouse.

The best thing about consoles is they don't have to worry much about software piracy and Developers don't have to worry about testing the game on multiple different kinds of computers to see how it handles, the hardware in the 360 and PS3 are well known. So that will definitely reduce bugs in games and frustration for people using PCs, I'm all for consoles. If game Developers want more PC people to buy console games then they should do whatever it was that Unreal Tournament did ( I think they might be just including Generic drivers ) and get a mouse and keyboard working for the game on the console. They are pretty much half way there, since the keyboard works for the PS3 anyways.

I've never understood that. Even ignoring the fact that you can literally plug in a 360 controller and have it work, looking around with a mouse is the opposite of a cursor-based UI. I don't blame my fingers, I rank fairly well in multiplayer matches, and completed Halo 3 on whatever its top difficulty setting is over the course of a day away from home, and don't particularly do much better with a mouse (So it's not inherently easier, just more accurate).

Er...no, it's nothing like that...except in the ways you'd want it to be.

For those of you how have a hard time playing first person shooters on consoles, dont blame consoles, blame your self for not haveing the dexterity in your thumbs or fingers to play it.

It's not that for me, so much. I've been playing on consoles since the '80s...I have a 360 and I have a PC connected to my living room entertainment center that I use 360 controllers to game on. I'm 100% comfortable with FPS games with a controller, but it's still a lot faster and easier to play them using a mouse. Anybody play that awful Shadowrun FPS that Microsoft pooped out several years ago? They had multi-player between 360 users and PC users, and the mouse users mopped the floor with the controller users. http://www.kotaku.com.au/2010/07/rumour-microsoft-killed-plans-for-pc-vs-xbox-360-online-play/ that it was part of the reason Microsoft scrapped their big plans to have cross-platform multi-player in more games.

I still have fun playing FPS games with a controller...it's just harder. By nature of a mouse being an anolog pointing device it just lends itself to controlling a first-person FoV better. Ideally you could use some kind of anolog pointing device for the FoV and a controller with a d-pad and buttons for everything else. I've actually heard of people doing that.

PC got mods and consoles got trophies/ achivements, dont have to worry about lag and CPU requirements.

PC users don't very often, either. The system requirements for most games haven't changed much since 2006, so that's not really a big deal.

But everyone is entitled to their opinions and source entertainment.

Agreed. :foodndrink: I'll probably end up with both so I can take to game to peoples' houses that don't have PCs in their living rooms to game on.

360 at first but eventually once a ton of good mods come out I will buy it for PC.

As for all he naysayers of PC, well I have played both console and PC and PC has the ability to blow console gaming out of the water. Its better in almost every way performance wise and it just comes down to personal preference.I just like 360 because I am a console gamer.

I got it on the PC, but i will be using the xbox 360 controller instead of keyboard/mouse.

After playing FPS games with a gamepad for so long the keyboard/mouse feels alien to me now.

$2000, you could easily find a good pc for under $1000 that can run FNV.
