What do you think skyrim is missing ?

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:35 am

1.Deep and interesting Factions
2.Spells have been cut down vastly
3. Attributes
4. Many old skills that i liked are gone
5. Less racial differences means they feels less unique.

I think its missing Dragon Riding and elemental dragons to fight (ei: dragons with fire coming out of their heads lol) and I really wanted to own my own castle/fortress that would be sick. I think its missing a storyline for the imperial/thalmor war and think they should expand on that next dlc and have a full out war not like the wimpy 10 vs 10 with a few catapults and crap. I also Think that they should have more difficult bosses that require different ways to kill them (ei: if he is glowing green, u can only use magic and if he changes to blue, you only can use melee) and more creative things to do, i got bored of killing and training skills,

They should've just added on to what they had with Oblivion.

I'm going to suggest something that I know will be met with the occasional "TES is not a FPS". Nevertheless, after having watched Assasin's Creed III gameplay footage, how I dearly wished Skyrim had the same level of interaction with the environment. The comparison is perhaps more striking because AC III also takes place in a snowy tree-ridden area. You can climb pretty much anything, you leave footprints, you sink in into the snow, you can climb rocks, hang on ledges, you can snow slide. I mean, contrast this with Skyrim, where a 7 foot nord cannot overcome a 7 inch rock. I am not suggesting TES should become AC III, or even a FPS. I am suggesting it should borrow these wonderful features.

TES is already an FPS.

An intro video explaining all the events that occured during the last two hundred years, beginning just after Martin's sacrifice and ending with us on the carriage.

Not exactly 'videos'. But you know.

People - some of the so called Hold Capitals are nothing more than a very small village.

Exactly why I'd rather have a video explaining what happened in the world between two games. :)

pretty much all said already but still...

1. arrow crafting...20+ playthroughs and i've seen 7 daedric arrows...
2. spell creation
3. clothing crafting...why shouldn't i weave and enchant my own mage's hood?!
4. thrown weapond...can't count the number of times i stared at a bandit across the room wishing i could throw Mehrune's Razor and get a cross-room instant kill (has the plus of AWESOME kill cams)
5. home building...i can already chop wood and a number of towns with thane tasks don't have a house for sale so...why not build one?

Skyrim is very obviously missing spell creation and variation of the spells that are available.

It's also missing on-touch spells -.-

Seriously, it really svcks that I can no longer roleplay a character that is essentially "defined" by a few key spells.

I think Soul Trap and Banish Daedra are Touch spells.

I have played through all the elder scrolls and the one thing I would like to see is a climbing/holding feature. Not as advance as assians cred but along the lines of shadow of the collosus, or now the new dragons dogma. Anything that makes the worlds more interactive, I like seeing the enviroments of skyrim but tend to fast travel because I cant decided if I want to see everything and try avoiding creatures by taking a mountain climbing path(jumping in 1st person a lot) or just get to where I want to go. It would be cool to hitch a ride on a dragons wing,or claw. or cling on a giants back or mamoth. But the biggest thing is if you play as a theif or assian you should be able to hide in the rafters or cling on the edge of wall or ledge of a castle, tower or moutain side. Maybe certain areas like tomb raider had so no worries with cells loading or breaking a game.

A reason to care.

The NPCs are forgettable, and hence, forgotten.
The journal is lousy.
My character is already too powerful... and has 11 spare perks.

What does that leave me to play for?

Things I'm missing:

- from Morrowind: our paperdoll having real interactions with its environment. If something happens in the sky, if someone passes by, if something falls on the floor, our character would actually look at them.

- from Oblivion: facial expressions. When npcs were not happy to see us, it showed on their face and they could actually smile at you if they were in the mood.

In Skyrim, everyone seems to be blind. (sigh)

I'm missing this very much but it does seem that I'm the only one, so I hope that the devs are also missing them, so that they once add them, even if the fanbase don't ask. :)

An arena like the one in imperial city, should fit right in with the nord's dedication to combat.

I'm not sure I follow this - don't you control where your character looks? Or are you talking about if you leave them standing in 3rd person view? Or have I misread this completely?

This game is in dire need of more enemy variety. With each Elder Scrolls game, the number of unique enemies decreases. I'm tired of fighting Draugrs in 90% of the caves/ruins that I visit. Fighting the same six or seven monster types gets old really quick.

- clever and well thought out story that doesn't get changed to be more generic and [censored] awful .
- a perk system that is not awful, attributes
- spears, crossbows and shortswords
- Mithril and adamantium. Glass that isn't stupidified.
- Spells.
- Interesting and varied enemies
- Were creatures. bears and wolves in the wild.
- Dungeons with different walls. That would have taken what- a colour shader?

Pretty sure they've told us all that already, given the amount of books on History that exist within Skyrim, never mind the rest of the sources, for example, Lord of Souls and The Infernal City.

Edit: I'd like to see the different forms of Lycanthropy said to exist within the Lore in Skyrim: Werebears as well as werewolves.

I would like a few more dialogue options and more NPCs ( which is taken care of very nicely on PC)

What mostly threads like this do though s make me appreciate the game much more as I feel it has so much of interest that I am reminded of as folks are ranting about uninteresting NPCs , quests, etc. Strangely I appreciate Skyrim more after reading this stuff as it makes me want to visit again the stuff I find quirky and interesting which comes to mind after being told how boring stuff is.
