What do you think skyrim is missing ?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 4:09 pm

the return of the Roving Elder Dragon Gang... i had a glitch i guess? there were ten elder dragons that spawned all at once when i was out at one of the forsaken camps, and i took shelter in a buckskin tent while i continuously summoned creatures. apparently, deer hide is stronger than your armor. the more you know.

Skyrim is missing: a full crafting list for armor and weapons.

We should be able to craft Blades Armor, Arrows, and base (non-enchanted) versions of the specialty armor (like Shrouded, for instance).

Dawnguard has an improved crafting tree including dragon weapons

Underwater combat, I only say that because we need more variety other than slaughterfishes.

Deeper relationships between player character & followers/spouses, acrobatics & athletics, nicer houses that are a little more customizable, & an engine that doesn't cause two object to explode when they're placed next to one another

I think a hand mannequin would be cool. You can store your rings on the hand a bit like the one in the midden at winterhold college.

The lack of interaction with the environment. In Oblivion and Morrowind you could pretty much pick up anything, to decorate your home etc. And this is a big downer for rp, at least for me...

The only real problem I've ever sensed while playing this game is Alduin. I never felt like he was a super tough or evil enemy. I always thought it would make sense if Alduin was just maybe a "henchman" or "servant" of another bigger, badder, more epic enemy. I never felt that Alduin was......... on a large enough scale. Yes. That's the perfect way to describe my feelings.

Skyrim, even with this slight issue, is still the best game I've ever played in my life to date.

The world of Skyrim (or Oblivion) is essentialy a dead, lifeless world.
Nothing changes, no matter how many dragons you kill or don't kill.
You can just leave everything alone, or go murder every creature and bandit, it changes nothing.
Doesn't matter how many quests you do, how many caves or ruins you clear, they were not having any effect on the world.
Nobody will thank your for it.
You can clear all the dungeons and kill off all the wolves and sell all the loot, nobody is going to get richer (beside you) and the life in the town doesn't improve, the roads won't get safer etc etc.
Consider this: If a dragon attacks a city, it doesn't matter if you kill it or won't. The city will be fine, since it cannot be destroyed, it's a static/indestructable place. There is no danger, that it will disappear, and you know it.
Basically, your actions in the game does absolutely nothing. The only thing you can change is your mate's armor and weapons , but what good does that do, when you send them away and they just gonna sit in your house?

This is no different to any other Elder Scrolls game, though, really.

What you're asking for, Bethesda has been working on implementing since Arena and beyond. Radiant quests etc. are all meant to add some "life", which are then balanced against gameplay experience and player feedback. So it's not like they haven't tried.
I would like more consequences, of course - having dialogue change relative to your reputation, for example - but at the same time I understand the balance that they're always working with: essentially, the more "living" the world you make it, the more limited the range of gameplay options become.

You do get that feeling, before Skyrim came out and the intro was leaked, people hoped that

HI all!

I'm going to suggest something that I know will be met with the occasional "TES is not a FPS". Nevertheless, after having watched Assasin's Creed III gameplay footage, how I dearly wished Skyrim had the same level of interaction with the environment. The comparison is perhaps more striking because AC III also takes place in a snowy tree-ridden area. You can climb pretty much anything, you leave footprints, you sink in into the snow, you can climb rocks, hang on ledges, you can snow slide. I mean, contrast this with Skyrim, where a 7 foot nord cannot overcome a 7 inch rock. I am not suggesting TES should become AC III, or even a FPS. I am suggesting it should borrow these wonderful features.

It's missing MOUNTED ENEMIES! I mean it can't be fair that only the player can attack while riding a horse.
