"Not all provinces are included in their entirety; Zenimax Online is keeping large areas inaccessible to save them for use as expansion content. Nonetheless, every major area is represented to some extent." Thats blantantly telling us they're releasing the game unfinished.
This one caught my eye. You have to just be finding some fault with everything they've said (which isn't much anyway).
You're complaining about not being able to explore all of Tamriel right off the bat? You've got to be kidding. It's not an unfinished game, it's how they want the expansion packs to be set up, and think about how massive, and how long it would take to recreate all of Tamriel. TESO wouldn't be out until like mid or late 2014 if this was the case. You realize, that in WoW vanilla, not all of Azeroth was released right? There was no Uldum, no Twilight Highlands, no Vash'jir... Those are all part of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, the two main landmasses of the game.
I admit that I am a bit concerned about how this game turns out, because if it goes badly then us Elder Scrolls fans will be mocked to no extent. This game won't be much of a WoW clone, the only thing similar is the action bar (which isn't that similar at all) and possibly the quest system and a fraction of the combat is based loosely off of WoW. WoW has no stamina bar which allows
every class to sprint, interrupt, dodge, etc. etc. all the same as the others. The only reason they don't have a real time combat system is because it would lag the hell out of the game.
As for graphics. Seriously? You want them to go all Skyrim with this game? It's an MMO. Which means a lot of little entities at the same time. Something that hasn't been done with TES before (not in this way anyway). Unless you like playing at 12 frames, you'd better thank them for simplifying the art.
Back to combat. If you read anything about this game, the combat is almost nothing like WoW's. As I just said, Stamina Bar. The spine of the combat system so it would seem. After that, I believe I heard you get a few abilities to use, and the rest depends on weapons/armour. Not to mention, there is no tank, no heals, and no dps. It's fend for yourself and if someone wants to help then lucky you.
Touching back to questing. Sure I'm guessing that questing will be pretty similar to WoW's, as in
"Go to Questgiver > Get Task > Perform Task > Return > Rewards" Oh wait. Isn't that what all quests are like? I'm pretty sure WoW doesn't let you become the Emporer of Tamriel at the end of their QLs.
In all honesty, this game may not live up to what some of the other, more popular MMO's, like Guild Wars or WoW, but it's a start. I'm really hoping that Bethesda will kind of keep Zenimax in check to make sure that a total embarrassment to the MMO world isn't unleashed with all the hype it'll get. And at least Zenimax is designing it, and not some weird, never-been-heard-of company.
