The glitch on the quest "the taste of death" its very annoying ,,,,it doesnt matter how i do it and i made the mistake to overwrite alll saves before i meet the girl in front of the cave and she askes if you need any help ...if u havent complete the quest tell her to stay outside ...if not ur screwd...no matter if i tell my companion lidia to wait outside the final battle then as soon as i kiil the dragur master this chick turns against me .....if i bring my lidia with me to the fight amd at least i get to the part where she tells me what to do next but once u close the dialog box your companion will attack her immediatly i spent more than 2 hrs trying to work it out and nothing worked ...finally i talked to her and she turned against me and I left the cave ..never went back there (if you kill her the quest will fail)...so im at that stage waiting for a fix...

I have 5 quest bugs to report
First one is in the liberation of Skyrim I had just finished taking over the Fort Neugrad.
I went outside and talked to Ralof he told me to go back and talk to galmar at the camp. I went bback into the fort before leaving to pick up all items from the bodies. When I went back outside the quest arrow was back over ralof and I cant get him to que up the "go and talk to galmar" So I am unable to go any further in the civil war quest line.
So that line has glicthed out on me

Next up is the final theifs guild quest to return the skeleton key to the resting place at the end of the pilgrams path. I left out of the cave cause i didnt want to return the key yet. After the door was open to me.now when I went back the door is closed so I cant go down the pilgrams path to return the key to its proper place. So I am unable to finish the thiefs guild quest line.

Next one is the book procurement from the college in winterhold
There is a book i need to get the top of white river watch location. The catch is I got the book at the very begining of the game and it wont let me give the book over to urag at all and it is stuck in my inventory.

Then there is the the Bard college instraments
I did all the quests for these items and turned them in but they showed that they got taken out of my inventory but are still in there. and i cant get them out of my inventory due to they are a quest item.

Next there is the Darklight tower Repentance quest.
I was exploring skyrim and got to the top of the tower from the outside. I killed illia's mother even before stepping foot into the tower. I went into the tower from the bottom and started the quest for illia but once we got to the top. illia went into a fighting stance and then just turned around and started to walk back into the tower. I still got the quest in my log and cant ever get it to finish out.

Kill the Leader of Red Eagle Redoubt (Radiant Quest)

I killed this Foresworn before I got the quest assignment. When I have the quest arrow point to this quest, the corresponding arrow on the map appears, and points me to the long-dead leader who never disappears. All the other forwsworn in that camp all have respawned and will fight (and die. Again.)

A Cornered Rat

Delphine will not assign me this quest. I have located Esbern in a cell in the Ratway but he wont talk to me.

Find That Book!

Urag gro-Shub in the Library at the College in Winterhold has a Radiant Quest that randomly assigns you a book to bring back to him from a randon dungeon. If you have already plundered that dungeon, and already have the book in your possesion, PRIOR to him assigning you the quest, you cannot give it to him, which means he will not assign any more quests, AND the book is now a 0 weight non-droppable quest item in your inventory.

I'm having a problem with armor getting stuck in my follower's (Lydia) inventory--whenever I try to remove it I get the message, "You can't take your teammate's starting armor." This happens with items that are not actually starting armor; Hide Shield, Scaled Horn Armor, Steel Plate set, etc. Amulets/rings are unaffected, it seems. I was able to take a Dwarven helmet and shield from her.
I had this once before with an item she had equipped, but I was later able to remove it.

Anyone else having this problem? I went back a few days in saves, and it seems like this problem has been growing. I'd rather not lose all this equipment, or go back ten or twenty hours, obviously. :)

I just registered to report bugs here, since I guess it's the best place to let Bethesda know about them. I'm happy to see that the list is so well organized.

I didn't read the whole thing, but I couldn't find the following using the 'find' shortcut (some, if not all, are addressed in the Elder Scrolls wikia though):

- The 'Visit the College in Winterhold' misc quest gets stuck in the journal after visiting the college.
- The 'Help 5 people of Haafingar' and 'visit your new home Proudspire Manor' misc objectives get stuck in the journal as well upon becoming Thane of Solitude with Elisif. I tried talking to her and her steward in different order to find a fix (that solves a similar issue in Riften), but it didn't work. I think the problem may have something to do with the fact that I had already befriended 5 people in Solitude by the time the misc quest was given to me in order to become a Thane.

Other than that, I haven't had many problems in over 100 hours of gameplay. The only other bug that's bothering me at the moment is the Louis Letrush duplication one. I know that one is mentioned in the list, but I'm gonna add extra details with my experience in case it helps:

- Towards the end of the 'Promises to Keep' quest, I found the Companions fighting some wild animal near where Letrush was waiting for me to deliver his horse. I'm not sure if that was a bug as well, it looked like just a random happening to me, but the cloned Letrush showed up right after I finished his quest within minutes of witnessing that. At first there was one, stuck in the ground, shortly after a second, non-stuck Louis joined him. Eventually he also showed up near Saarthal and was killed by an orc. Right after that, a third clone joined the other two in Whiterun. Weird, weird, weird bug.

That list made me so sad...
This company getting choice awards and game of the year awards.. but most of the stuff barely works in it..
the game looks nice.. but you go out and kill a mob that eventualy is a quest mob.. and your quest chain grinds to a massive halt, you cannot abandon it or get it to respawn

Which is why i registered on here to post about that specific bug, couldnt find it on the list.(omg the list... never buying a console game from bathesda again)

I got bored questing, went around hunting caves and dungeons with the girl i married, no quest, just killing stuff for the sake of killing and loots, which all went well.
The next day i get on my xbox and start up my quests from the companions.. and wham first thing, it sends me to a cave i have cleared.

Nothing i can do now, cant accept anymore "im looking for work" quests, because i cannot abandon it, and the mobs wont respawn, dont have this game on a fancy pc to type in "stupid000exebug.fixitnow/gogo.win to have it all change.

so if your reading this, dont do anything outside of quests bcoz the game is so broken you cant even do something in it, without being told to do it for a quest.

maybe in a year we can get a fix for this, after they finish fixing the dragons in the pc version
wont hold my breath tho, seems the console gets overlooked and ignored by the bathesda company.

I've done plenty of things outside of quests, then I was sent back sometimes to those 'cleared' locations, and I was able to complete the task given. The bad guys were back there or, in case there was someone important (named), the body was still there with whatever treasure I needed to pick up in case I left it there. I imagine the only way to get screwed up is if you do get the object that will be needed on a future quest and sell it or something.

However, it would've been great to have some kind of dialogue option to say 'oh, I've been there, killed everyone, found your sword' or whatever instead of making players go back and redo things they've already been through. Not really a bug, just something that could've been improved a little.

That option does exist for at least one quest very early in the game. I can't remember which one, just that I had cleared the dungeon already and got a dialogue option to say, "It's already done, here's your item." :)

I'm not sure if these are bugs, i did try to search for them with the "ctrl-F" option with no results. My problem is that Esbern is requesting dragon bones and scales. I did give them to him but it hasn't cleared off my quest list. Then my other issue is when Esbern gives the quests to kill dragons with other Blade members, when I go to the location, I'm always left with killing the dragon alone. There are no fellow Blade members around even though he says that they will meet me at the location.
so, is this a bug or did I misunderstand the dialogue?

Skill bug:

One-handed skill stuck at 20, displayed in red. No armor, weapon, or active affects that should be causing this. Shows in the skill tree that I have a real level of 39.

I mentioned this in another topic, but nobody commented on it and I didn't see it in this list.

I have fewer than 10 saves and I fast traveled around 6 times over a period of 4 hours, I never entered any buildings/dungeons between any of these fast travels, since I was just discovering locations and killing stuff outside. Anyway, after my last fast travel I was careless and fell off of a mountain to my death, which prompted it to load my last save but the loading screen seemed to last several minutes. To my surprise, when it finally loaded my last autosave, it was from at least 4 fast travels in the past. So either it never actually saved during those last 4 fast travels and only the 2 before had been successful or it somehow loaded an earlier game-state because of another bug (since there were 3 autosaves on my load screen that were all previously written over).

Audio Effects Bug; Random footstep effects following the player

This bug seems to be fairly random and is somewhat noticable when the effects volume is turned up. On random occasions the game will play the sound effect for the player landing after a jump two or three times.

Still not on the list...

Dead Thralls will completely disappear, never to be found/recovered again. You'll still have the active effect showing, but the thrall is gone.

I suspect Wujeeta in Riften died in my game without my knowledge. A dragon attacked early in the game for me, I think I'd only spoken to a few folks in the bar and was either going to or coming back to give the owner of the bar what he needed for his ring. The dragon attacked right outside the front gate by the stables, set one of the horses on fire and then went and attacked the fishery. I was on the shore watching and shooting at him with one of the guards. He must of killed Wujeeta then. She's also not in the bunkhouse at night or anywhere in Riften. I've never seen her.
Now on a subsequent visit I found the fishery but it is always closed and locked (picking the lock does nothing it is empty), Wujeeta is nowhere to be found, there is another nice snake lady, Deep Under the Water or something like that, that sent me on a lexicon quest, afterwards nothing from her she just asks if I have questions. I can’t find Wujeeta to start the buy Honeyside proceedings. Is there nothing to be done if Wujeeta died off-camera so to speak? And I have done so may tasks for the people of Riften there should be a statue of my dude there, so I’ve done that perquisite. There has to be another way to start this quest or Wujeeta should be immortal till her part is done.

Problem: You dont blackout after completing the drinking game with Sam Guevenne. He just stands there and you are not teleported to The temple of dibella in Markarth.

Dialogue Bugs:

If you can't stomach cannibalism :-) and kill Eola in Markarth Hall of the dead, failing "The taste for death". Anyone involved in Namira's feast now has a conversation topic that you actually saw them feasting at the end of the quest. "Hey, didn't I see you at...?"

After the sad demise of Susanna the Wicked at Windhelm, Elda Early-Dawn, her employer at Candlehearth Hall, for ever after keeps lecturing you not to chat up Susanna. (Ah, we wish!) Tsk! Either she's completely loopy, has no respect for the murdered dead, or else she thinks you're a Necrophile!

That's a real grumble of mine too. I have no idea why bethesda give companions (not just in Skyrim) personalized untouchable items and then give you the option to give them stuff only to find the untouchable stuff (including hoods etc) interferes with what you planned them to wear (other hoods, no hoods, clothes enchanted circlets) and aside from PC intervention you can't do a doodle about it.

I had that issue on my last play through. I have that quest lodged in my quest list but there is no dialoge option to give him the scales and bones.

Regarding your blades issue... You have recruited them right?

I think most of Windhelm may be broken, I cannot buy the house OR begin many of the local quests... In specific I cannot start the Murder investigation, no opportunity presents itself...

I didn't see this mentioned, about 10% of the Falmer I encounter are around a foot tall. Admittedly, It makes me laugh more than it bothers me.

There is a rumour about the next patch will fix quests.. but you will need to start again from scratch.. it will not fix your current game.

seems like all we can do is believe rumours on here.. since we get no actual evidence of whats going to be fixed and how it will impact us.

might just go buy SWOTR and drink away the last few weeks of my life, to get rid of the stress and aggravation this game has caused from constant break downs and needle dik pat on the back support.

Windhelm itself seems bugged up. NPC's floating instead of walking,

AND Horses falling out of the sky onto the bridge when exiting Windhelm...

Thank you for this bugs list and the time you've taken to compile it. It is a great reference point and sanity calmer to know that others have recognized the problems and therefore maybe (or have already been) dealt with. I,ve experienced many mentioned in this topic myself.

May I mention a few things I did not notice yet in the list:

Quest Items
In Markarth, The Reach, If you kill Lisbet (The Canibal) of Arnlief and sons Trading Company and loot her inventory after you find her statue of Dibella, the statue will become stuck in your inventory (as it remains a quest item.) Serves me right I suppose.

Graphical Errors
The forge graphical glitch you mentioned with DE Female seems to be random. I made 2 Breton chars. The first one pummelled his metal correctly while the second char (same race, six but different preset fetures) didn't always know which end was the hot part ;-)
Possible Workaround: I went to the Skyforge to make stuff and it never seems to glitch plus it seems to set the glitch right for a while at other forges. (But eventually returns)

Dragon Glitches
I noticed you said the glitch at Dragon Tooth Crater was fixed after patch 3.1 however I still come up against an indistructable dragon (post patch) that crashes into the ground in front of the word wall with it's head burried in the ground and it's legs and tail stuck in the air, thrashing wildly)

Solitude House (Proudspire Manor)
If you purchase the alchamy upgrade for your house, it will replace the very useful cupboard and any items you stored there with an alchamy table! So buyers beware! I think it is the only house upgrade that actually removes containers from your house? Make sure you remove all items from that cupboard first!

More Dialogue sticking?
Helgird of the Windhelm Hall of the dead will have a morbid fascination about the wounds of the murdered Susanna the wicked. In her cript or wandering the streets she will comment on the long slash made on her body if you greet her for ever afterwards and sometimes as a passing comment too!

Dead things rising!!!
Sometimes if I kill a creature or person it will stand right back up as if alive, moving and sometimes making noises. It will not attack and you cannot kill it with weapons or interact with it in any way. Annoying if there is an important item on it. However I have found a workaround. If it is not too powerfull, you can hit it with a raise dead spell and it will start to glow like a thrall and eventually turn to dust and it's inventory can be accessed. This usually happens when I use a dagger I enchanted with soul trap and fire spell. Why? I don't know...

Some of these things are a bit picky, I know, but there you have it.

Items placed in player owned house
Just as a possible quick fix to this problem already mentioned in the list on page 1. If you place your items in your house (as long as it's on a stable surface and save your game (you don't have to exit the game, just save) it seems to make the game fix the items in place -until you interact with them again, of course. I have done this after much experimentation and getting annoyed at the game rearranging my dropped items. For me it seems to work. I hope it does for you too!

On the bright side it could fill you with pride that we are better than highly paid testers and quality control boffins who missed all this. Maybe Bethesda will hire us all and WE might get paid instead, one day! Positive thinking :confused: I'm glad to see they are paying attention and fixing many of the bugs bit by bit, so your input is being listened to!

Level the skill is will return to normal, I think it might get fixed next patch but dont know.

Also while the list is quite long, people need to remember that this list, while long, is not a guarantee that you will run into each and every one of them.

-Some corpse never disappear (Cicero and Ulfric are confirmed to do this)

This also applies to Alvor, the Riverwood Blacksmith. He died in a dragon attack, and his corpse has laid outside the Riverwood Trader now for the last few in-game months.
