They were just so proud of their transformations that they make you look at them.

I would love to hear the reasoning behind making this 3rd person only, if only for curiousity's sake.

It seems like basic, common logic that some players might prefer 1st person mode, and it's not like the vampire lord and werewolf would fail to function in first person mode.

Probably has to do with the fact that first person view needs a certain skeleton mesh to work and Skyrim only allows one at a time. So if there was first person for Werewolves or Vamp Lords, the camera heights would be all messed up.

This is also why each race doesn't have the correct view heights in first person. When playing a High Elf, walk up to an NPC High Elf and you'll be looking up to them instead of being at about eye-level.

What is all this can't fit through doors stuff people are saying? I've gone through a couple of dungeons and buildings now, fit through all the doors. My char is a female VL so maybe they have a smaller collision box.

But yeah, I've had no problems fitting through gaps. The camera, on the other hand, has had a lot of issues in confined corridors.

Stop complaining.. I really think Vampires are overpowered to begin with.. Now you are overpowered just you can't be as powerful since your vision.. But I never play a bethesda game in 1st person so its natural to me.. And learn to play it in 3rd person.. A lot of the best RPG's are in 3rd person.. A game like Dark Souls or Witcher 2 which are clearly superior to Skyrim.. Are in 3rd person.. Also Grand Theft Auto Games which I like more than skyrim are in 3rd person.. But can you really imagine Dark Souls, Witcher 2, or GTA in 1st person..? The game would be entirerly different.. Like a different game..

Third person is for teenagers and idiots.

It disrupts immersion and ruins your aim and depth perception.

Often you find it can help with strafing and avoiding projectiles left and right due to extra perception room to the left and right but forward/backward collision detection always suffers.

You either stop short of your target or give them a hug.

I did a little test with Forza 4 and Minecraft...no matter who tried they either swerved constantly or got blown up by creepers.

...and Warewolves had a choice of 1st/3rd person in Morrowind

Wut? I always play Forza with the out-of-car cam. I find car control much easier with that view, and I don't swerve. My only Forza foible is I refuse to stop using auto gear change, and constantly trying different ways of getting round corners mid-race (I spend half the time online apologising :P).

As to VL, god knows. Unless we could get a bug into beths studio we'll NEVER know if this is down to sound reasoning or laziness.

Don't be ignorant.. And to you.. GTA is a bad game.. Witcher 2 is a bad game.. Dark Souls is a bad game.. Batman Arkham City/Asylum is a bad game.. ????????? All of these I would probably play before skyrim and all of them are 3rd person.. If you wanna play your 1st person go play your call of duty or whatever you do..

I absolutely love third person view...when I'm trying to enjoy the look of my character. When I'm playing and in combat though, i always prefer first person. You have every reason to complain about this. It should have been something they worked on since people have been complaining about the werewolf when the game first came out.

Lol I hate first person view. It's not like real life view at all. Instead of a near 180 degrees by 180 degrees field of vision, you're forced into something more like 90 degrees by 90 degrees. It's like cupping your hands in front of your eyes. That being said, it's weird why it wasn't included. Weird but not surprising, seeing as werewolves don;t have it either. At least Skyrim has excellent 3rd person mechanics, unlike the crap we got in Oblivion.

As extensive as I'm sure this test was, I can play Forza just fine in third person. I can even do entire endurance races without crashing my car. Shocking, isn't it?

This is only a RPG based thread.. You listed a Sand-Box game and a racing game.. Some games 3rd person ain't good.. Like Minecraft.. You don't need to be ignorant and go saying GTA, Dark Souls, Witcher 2, and Arkham City are all bad games.. They are probably my favorites..

Just svck it up and deal with.. You shouldn't cry because some people actually have valid complains and yours is flawed in everyway..

While I strongly prefer 1st person. 3rd person doesn't bother me for these things. What's the point of turning into something completely different if you can't see it?

I agree, I also have no problem with 3rd person, and also i have seen about 7 posts about how its annoying that you cant go into first person with the VL, and how hes to tall and cant fit through some doors, ect. Its the exact same thing as the werewolf, they are the same height, and both in 3rd person. As this fellow im quoting said, what is the point in changing if you cant see it, all you would see is some grey hands with large finger nails.
