You can become vampire lord? Hey, what is the catch? YEAH TH

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:19 pm

Always a catch, oh yeah.
  • You may never play the way you want to play, in first person view. If you want to be a vampire lord, that is - that is what you paid for yes?
What's wrong with Bethesda? Are they THAT lazy they can't create 1st person view for the vampire lord?

Didn't the developers get that done in their free jam periode so they just left it at that as Bethesda would otherwise had to pay a artist to design the first person view, hands and all.

Oh boy, yeah that's just [censored] load of work that can't be done by a AAA developer because they won't profit enough from this DLC to make anyone get paid for any work on this DLC at all.

Of course, I understand...

20 € (euro) for this DLC and they can't give me the first person view for their big seller (Vampire Lord) when I, pay, 20 € ... Guess Tomb Raider is the future of TES, no more first person view, shack it.

It cost too much to pay artist to create this, of course. Perhaps add a patch that scrap the whole first person view at all because it doesn't excist for anything that is new such as mounted combat, vampire lord, werewolf, all new to the TES series but first person view? No [censored] you!

You..

Is the difference..
Between..

I...

Now what is your point? It's not hard to understand that many people enjoy third person view but is it really that hard to understand that people hate it?

When I RP, I like to BE the character.
Not watch my characters back all day.

U mad bro?

No, they are actually pretty smart. Why will they bother paying personel to add addicional content and fix bugs if the modding community can do this for free?

I have never - ever - ever seen a modding community add a first person view for the Werewolf, have you?
Then I say you will never see it, not for Vampire Lord either.

Yes, a lot of us are mad that yet one more thing is in third person. It would be nice if the modders could fix these issues but it must not be easy or we'd have first person riding and first person werewolves by now.

While I strongly prefer 1st person. 3rd person doesn't bother me for these things. What's the point of turning into something completely different if you can't see it?

Whilst it would be nice, I can see reasons for doing it (It's cooler, it's easier to animate and make the effects more obvious when used etc.).

Additionally, I like to think it's a metaphor for becoming something more, you are no longer "you" you are this mega-powerful being. Admittedly, this works better with werewolves (where you can say it really isn't you in control) than with VLs

The modding community shouldn't be a crutch. They should be adding. Morrowind had first person for werewolves, and third person. Skyrim may be newer and more advanced, but it has the same engine as Fallout 3, which is just a modified version of Gamebryo. Morrowind uses the normal Gamebryo engine.

Modding shouldn't be like what happened with Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. With that game, modding was the only way to make any official patches for it work. A fan made patch is the only way to make the game work correctly on Windows 7. That game is a bad example since it was rushed, but still. Don't use modding as a crutch.

This is a bit nitpicky, isn't it? The vampire lord is great, and very viable in combat.

Nope. I hate to be forced in third person too. I just can't aim/move well in third person view (and I've played GTA games and RDR a lot, but still), and the character animations in Skyrim annoy me (particularly horse animations).

All together I'm happy with it! Not that big of a problem for me. Sure, I kinda miss the first person horse-back ride like in Oblivion...but then again I usually backed out to third-person anyway because it was easier for me to maneuver. First-person Werewolf and Vampire Lord would be interesting, and probably preferred, but I like how they have it set up as it is.

Say what you will but I give Bethesda a big :thanks: for the excellent job they have done so far. Sure, there are some things I would have liked and things I think hey could have done differently...but in the end they've put out a superior product compared to much of what's out there, and I hope they keep it up!

Bethesda has pretty much said to first person view players, [censored] off. We don't got time to adjust anything in the game to suit your needs.

We are now soon-to-be third person view, I'm not suprised if they sometime say.

"We have seen alot of the players only plays in third person view so we have decided that we will cut out first person view and even make third person view much better experience then ever before in any of our other previous TES games!" - Todd H.

That would be an acceptable excuse if they weren't paid professionals. As it is it's just another "That's my half-assed Bethesda ^_^" thing.

I don't know, I've played third person view since Morrowind came out. I only go into first for archery or such things. Doesn't bother me.

I switch between views depending on the scenario. First usually when engaging in combat and third when i want to just sit back and imagine that character as me running through the snowy forest (role-playing).
It is nice to have both but i can understand the reasoning behind only one view.

Well that's disappointing to read. I can't stand third person that much, it ruins immersion in dungeons. Also, they just had to make your character stay on the left side of the screen when you aren't wielding a weapon didn't they? I don't know why that bugs me but it does. I remember the first person view of werewolves in Morrowind, I loved it. Let's hope they change it in a patch? I doubt they will though.

So you feel like a completely different creature? I get that Bethesda wants to show their fancy new models, but running around in third person as a werewolf doesn't make me feel like an unstoppable predator. It just makes me feel like I'm a cameraman for National Geographic following an unstoppable predator from the confines of a low flying helicopter. Kinda bothersome really. And this is coming from someone who likes to alternate POV.

Morrowind's werewolves had such fun animations, that I just stick with third person for those. The camera angle was really close to the character, so that made things better. With Skyrim, I'm not as close to the character. That's annoying.

ot doesnt matter how much one person complains. if the hundreds of thousands of players dont all say the same thing, they arent going to give 2 $hits about what one person thinks. despite how much i agree with TC
