The modding community shouldn't be a crutch. They should be adding. Morrowind had first person for werewolves, and third person. Skyrim may be newer and more advanced, but it has the same engine as Fallout 3, which is just a modified version of Gamebryo. Morrowind uses the normal Gamebryo engine.
Modding shouldn't be like what happened with Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. With that game, modding was the only way to make any official patches for it work. A fan made patch is the only way to make the game work correctly on Windows 7. That game is a bad example since it was rushed, but still. Don't use modding as a crutch.
For a game that was rushed, some how every time some one mentions Bloodlines I find myself reinstalling it and getting hooked on it all over again.

"Forced" third person isn't much of an issue. I play so many different game styles i just shrug, adapt, and keep playing. If you want to rage over someting, make it constructive and encurage them to fix actual problems. Like your dead thralls turning into useless lumps of meat when you change into your VL form or how Serana some how completely nerfs VL damage and abilities so much that they are almost utterly useless.

The camera isn't broken, I don't have to fight with it to get around so I'd rather they spend time and money fixing ACTUAL problems.
