Your reaction the first time you saw an Oblivion gate.

After running straight from the sewers (i only just started, got lost multiple times in the sewers and didnt know how to drop items) i went to weynon priory... (i didnt know about fast travel :P went running a lot and didnt even know about the map :P) after that i went running to the quest marker...

i climbed a hill to a wall thinking "why is the sky turning red?"

i got up the hill (other side of kvach XD) and ran around looking for an entrance... got to the gate... the scamps came...i attacked while the archer was the only one killing them :P

then after accepting to help,i drew my sword and rushed through the gate!

and came out the other side :P

after going through it multiple times and thinking the game was broken,i accidentaly pressed space and went through it :P

then i went through...got bored of oblivion after the first few minutes and (failed to) find the gate XD

then i made a new character...and stopped being a newb :P

'Big red gate..well thats just great. Well...better get it over with' *jumps through the gate*
'Oh, I need to activate it...' *looks at the city gate behind the oblivion gate*
'Why don't the guards just walk ROUND the oblivion gate?'
*sigh* 'idiots'

The first time I actually got to Kvatch, the first time playing it, I was already level 37 witchhunter with 100s of potions and went through most of the side missions and guilds, so I was greeted with the daedra spiders and those giant crocodile things right off the bet, but I was already paralyzing things with my bow so they weren't too much of a problem.

No I didn't know what was awaiting me, but I got so sidetracked after I got out of the sewers, that I just kept going into the forts and ruins and I still t wasn't fully aware of all the game menu functions and what frustrated me the most that I couldn't figure out how to drop out items from my inventory so I had brooms, spoons and all sorts of useless clutter in my inventory all the time. Oh yeah and I completely forgot about the damn amulett for a good amount of time..instead I was looking for the next Ayleid ruin to loot.

Actually the best time I had that time, I didn't even bring up the map for anything, I just went to places by sight and never fast traveled. Didn't even know about fast traveling until I logged onto the forums to look for help about some of the missions.

The first oblivion gate I saw was in Kavach. I was walking up the hill and thinking "oh god I buggered". When I finally came to seeing it I pretty much soiled myself.....

"Holy [censored]. I'm not going in there."

The first one I saw was in Kvatch, the first time I played the game. I got out of the sewers, had no idea what I was doing (didn't read the manual) and just started walking, enjoying how everything looked. Then I came up on the back side of Kvatch, noticed all the trees were dead, and started going around the city looking for the front. The sky turned red and I found the gate, and I decided maybe I should start wandering in a different direction. XD

I was like:
What the heck?!? Im going back to the imperial city!

The reason with the imperial city is because, when I first got out the sewers, I some how ended up at IC, not Weyon Priory, first play through, had no clue you could fast-travel.

When I decided to go in the gate, the loading screen said
"Safe often, the planes of Oblivion are a dangerous place."
Then... I ran out again...

Though now, I am a champion! I have completed the game around three times...

Pretty much sums it up.

I didn't know what the game was about so it took me off guard.

XD lol hahahahahah I LOVE that cat. It's so hillarious. Just had to use it as my avatar...for now. Well back on topic...

Oblivion was my first TES game so I didn't know too much about it. When I saw it I was like 'Oh ****' and didn't know what was going on. When I saw the Scamps I took off running into the gate and found the guard and kept on coming close to dying with the scamps all around. Then the guard died :(. I was like 'screw this' I'll take care of this later and ran to Anvil since it was the closest city. When I was like almost level 20 or something I prepared myself and I told myself I can do this, I can take those stupid scamps down since I'm much stronger. So I traveled to Kvatch and walked up the hill and was starting to walk toward the gate when these spiders and giant lizard things (thats what I called them the first time) where running around attacking the guards and me. I'm like WTF!!! Wheres the scamps and ran away again -_-. Lol I was such a noob.

1st thing I did: say "What the f**k is that?"
2nd thing: screamed "For the burning blade!" (Yes, I love that warcry and always use it regardless of the game being played) and literally jumped at it, passing through that ominous portal-looking red membrane, and got confused why I can pass through it
3rd thing: changed to 1st person view and finally realized that there's that door icon and pressed 'E'

First gate is always the Kvatch Gate. Being an old hand of TES I thought, so this is where the nastiest things are. Better check, best armour worn, best sword in pack, best bow in hand. Lets have a look. The Halls of Collossus were scarier.
