1,000 Hours

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 7:55 pm

I am just wondering who else has played Skyrim for 1,000 hours? ( I have steam to prove it  )

1000 hours would mean (someone check my math here, think I missed something) you play an average of 4 and a half hours of Skyrim per day since release.

Wut da hell man.

I guess if gaming is your only hobby.

I think I have right around 200 hours and that is spread across 7 characters.

You have 1k hours on a single toon? That would seem tedious to me.

The time is split into 6 different chars.... Thanks for the all those who had kind words and IMHO, it was time well spent....

between all of my characters, i have logged between 1100 and 1200. but i have 4 characters currently, and deleted 1 to make space for the latest. Sweetpea the Blind, a fine specimen of a redguard asskicking apparatus.

I wouldn't be able to spend 120 hours on Skyrim let alone 1,000.

Ugh... yeah. I broke the 200 hour mark a week ago. Think of all the books I could have read. Oh well, back to playing Skyrim.

And I thought I played too much Skyrim. 1000 is unhealthy.

As great as the game is, wouldn't it be overwhelmingly boring to play that long?

Sleep tight Shadow Stealer... i'm of to buy some :hugs:
Aha!~ I see that you did there! =)

I'm nowhere near 1000 yet, but I clocked well over that on Oblivion.
Oh my, i've played far too many hours of Oblivion. Far too many. 3,000 hours and up. After a certain point you just stop tracking or being able to count those. In my defence the game did come out in 2006.
I think I got to about 200+ hrs on the XBox before I decided to stop playing and wait to buy a PC.
I totally would have been on the same amount of time as you buy now if I had the PC from the beginning.

I have agoraphobia and anxiety problems so I don't get out. Skyrim is a great place to dive in for me.
I've managed to split my game time between Skyrim on xbox 360 and Skyrim on the PC. Be patient, you'll love those mods. As for agorophobia and anxiety good job you found Tamriel! It's such a relaxing place!

A lot of people like to just re-play it and many more just enjoy spending time in Tamriel and role playing. Sure you've maybe 100 hours gameplay just doing everything in the game but there are so many different ways to do things, to see things. That's part of why you'll hear of people consitently playing these games for hundreds of hours.

It's funny how many people are clearly mad at themselves for some reason related to playing video games so they make comments like, "You wasted those 800 hours."

It's okay guys. You spent time playing video games. So long as you don't live in a third world country, it's called 'free-time'. (Instead of, you should be hunting for food or walking to the well for your daily supply of water) It first appeared many hundreds of years ago, and has allowed the invention of many key things in the world. Without it, we wouldn't be where we are a world. You spend your's playing video games, for entertainment, so that you may focus and work hard elsewhere. It's okay. You don't have to be mad at yourself.

I noticed that too, we're gamers here, most of us at least. We understand the enjoyment of playing games and games are not just 'kids stuff'. If anything here I would expect people to be proud of that effort they put into the game. Some people must be in denial that they enjoy games! :ermm: That is a bad place to be

That does rather depend on how long one spends at it, whether one does meet one's other obligations, whether one could relax more creatively, etc. I'm sure that at least some of the time I've spent playing Skyrim could have been better spent. Just saying. :)

Do you even own the game? You haven't experienced much if you haven't even played 120 hours.

120 hours is enough time to do every quest on the game and dive every dungeon, twice.

I'm pretty sure people who play online games such as COD, gears of war etc. has pretty much put hundreds of hours into it and they just dont know it. Its funny how some peoples perspective are on things. They would bash you for playing Skyrim for hundreds of hours but then dont realize they put that same amount of time into gaming in general. Also who really cares if you put a lot of hours in the game. That doesnt mean that every single day you sit down and play for 15 hours. All it means is that those hours you put in accumulate over time.

Maybe doing a speed run, where you already know where everything is and exactly where to go.

And if you DO already know these things, it means you've clearly invested even more time than that.

I spend entire evenings just leveling skills and doing maintenance/crafting/shopping/etc. I may not even delve a dungeon for several play sessions.

Jeremy Kyle is a lunatic, send that fool back to Britain I say
Gladly, the show doesn't have as much impact over there. Culture difference I suppose. I prefer him shouting at english people.

And i'd like to add with things like Steam it's always counting your time, even when you've popped away to do something random. Same for Xbox or PS really, the gametime is always being logged. You do make a point about online games, I wonder how many hours would those players who have maximum points on CoD have? Especially if they were able to calculate their gametime over the last 4 years.

It's been about 7 months. With about 30 days per month, 7 months x 30 days/month x24 hours/day = 5040 hours since launch. So I'm pretty sure no one has played over 4000 hours.
At 1000 hours, almost 20% of your life has been in Skyrim (within the past few months).
I'm at 425, and not proud of it. Although it's practically the only game I've played lately.
You're good at maths, aren't you? I've played 928 hours and I've got the game on the 16th of November; how much of my life did I spend on it?

To those who are ashamed to play; why do you do it then?
