Assassins' Creed

What system was it glitchy on? I've played about 15 hours on xbox now, and haven't noticed a single glitch or slowing down of load times or anything. It's been running perfectly, even with my longest continuous session being 7 hours.

It was on the 360. But the game was restarted and there arent any noticeable glitches now.

A quick question though. I just bought AS2 on Steam, and whenever I go to play I get this.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laSRO9xRPyw Anyone else having a problem like this when playing and how to fix it?

I love this game (Brotherhood) except for one thing. The forced way of doing things for repressed memories annoys me. I hope this doesn't find its way into future installments of the series.

Yeah, i'm glad i'm not the only one. Some things are incredibly linear...tie that in with the (useless) full synchronization system and it can be very aggravating.

Anyways, I beat the game and i'm just trying to unlock the armor from the shop quest...Something interesting i didn't know was that items you obtain from replaying a memory are kept with you once you complete it. I'm using that to my advantage.

That's good to know. I'm still barely into the game, so could you give an estimate of how long the game lasts in single-player? Also, what, exactly, do I get from full synchronization? Are the forced actions worth the prize or should I just ignore them and play how I want?

I called it useless for a reason. :P It does nothing. Like someone mentioned, and its a fair enough point, Ezio killed these men a certain way. For Desmond to truly sync with Ezio he has to do everything exactly how Ezio did it.

It yields no benefits though...making it completely useless and utterly annoying.

If you get sidetracked and purchase buildings, manage your assassins, get Romulus keys and assassinate Templar agents you're looking at easily 15+ hours. Thats also considering you use the tunnel system as a transport and not run through the country side.

There are literally no benefits, whatsoever? No extra memories, not even a trophy/achievement? If the answer is "yes, there are no benefits" or "mostly yes, there are trophies/achievements, though", then I am quite happy that I can do whatever I want, now. Suddenly, when I know it's useless, I find it to be far less annoying. I'll pretend it isn't even there.

I have to disagree... getting 100% sync in missions is entirely optional. It even SAYS so during mission briefing. It's only there if you want to gain access to Ezio's repressed memories. I've gotten access to one so far, and even though it was a short memory and didn't have anything to do with the main storyline of Brotherhood, I found it hilarious and I was grinning the entire time. Plus, it was fun to see
Spoiler
Vieri, Federico and 17-year old Ezio
again.

It's just a fun little extra and it provides an extra challenge to do things a certain way to get 100% sync which is always good, but the game is not forcing you to do it.

It's the same as all those glyphs and the Truth. It's there if you want to do it, but you don't have to finish it to end the game. I never finished the truth in AC2 either and never got any problems with it when I finished the game.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit. The combat is even better than AC II's, Rome is an amazing setting, you can renovate many, many things within the game (including famous monuments), plenty of informative snippets of information for places/people of interest are in the game, horses are ridable within the city, the game places you, the player, as the leader of the Assassin order and therefore in control of the assassins, and individual memores are replayable. I recommend ignoring the optional quest actions for full synchronization unless you beat the game and are really attached to the idea of being a completionist. The repressed memories that come from that full synchronization don't seem to be worth the work, to me, but I'll try and find them all after I beat the game my way.

i probably put in over 30 hours
but i own all the shops etc
and have only one borgia tower to do
i will not be getting all the flags as some are in the followers lairs [wolfman]

and one feather to get
i really like this game and am able to play for extended times
without issues such as crashes , freezes etc [unlike fallout nv]

i have done 6 of the truth so far
and have trained 11 recruits/ 9 to assasins
they are a big help

their are 5 templars to kill later in the game, so i will do those
but have not done the guild side quests

so without doing those side quests
and i just got to seq 6, i have played over 30 hours

love this game!

It's practically the same, they even use most of the soundtrack from AC2 in Brotherhood.

New Assassin's Creed for 2011
And Ubisoft hints at the next location.
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/113/1137064p1.html

On the back of Asssasin's Creed: Brotherhood shifting over a million units after its first week on sale in Europe, Ubisoft has begun talking about the next outing in the increasingly successful series – and begun hinting where the time-hopping adventure might be heading next.

Geoffery Sardin, Ubisoft's EMEA chief of marketing and sales told MCV that next year there will be another installment in the Assassins' Creed series.

Sardin went on to hint where the series could go having already explored Renaissance Italy and The Holy Land. "If you've read the comic books you will see that we took Assassin's Creed to the USSR, or Caesar's Rome – that's a good example of what we could do in the coming years in the next video games," Sardin told MCV, "We never saw this as just a franchise – it is a 360 degree franchise, and touches a lot of other experiences. It's not just a game, but an animated story, on comics, in books, and other formats too. There's lots of scope for what we can do."

looks like it might become an annual event

Assassin's Creed seems to be the only franchise that can weather the Call of Duty storm on an annual basis.

When Modern Warfare 2 launched in November of 2009, Assassin's Creed II arrived at almost exactly the same time and ultimately managed to sell around 9 million copies. This was when most other titles ran away from MW2. This year, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood didn't shy away from Black Ops - again, both titles released at about the same time - and all indications are that Ubisoft's latest will be another smash hit. So why not go for another entry in 2011? Well, the publisher wouldn't confirm anything specific but according to company CEO Yves Guillemot (speaking at a financial briefing call), we'll get AC "something" in 2011.

"There will be something around Assassin's. That's the only thing we can say."

Ubisoft did reinforce their "ultimate goal" to make the series yearly; i.e., new iterations for the holiday season every year, just like Call of Duty. Guillemot wouldn't commit to ACIII in 2011 but at least we know it's a possibility. They may not make it in time, though, because although Brotherhood is the completion of Ezio's story and was already written even before ACII released (or so said the development team), we doubt much of anything is written about ACIII, which will feature a new character, storyline and - we're assuming - age.

Either way, we can't wait to hear about it.
