Big disappointment

Much respect for not flaming me. People need to know this latest addition to the Elder Scrolls svcks.
That's your opinion. Don't force it on people and let most of the people who bought the game enjoy it. Stop living in the past and enjoy Skyrim for what it is. Skyrim.

not going to lie, the game was fun until a bug occurred in my main quest restricting me to continue... so now i am stuck at level 45 on the main quest unable to continue.. If that doesnt svck i dont know what does.

I know it doesn't help, but you really aren't missing much. The end of that quest is amusingly anticlimactic and nothing whatsoever is affected by it.

You know, it's funny. It seems like only 10% of the people saying this game isn't good actually provide reasoning and constructive criticism. While the other 90% just speak of how everything "svcks svcks and svcks!". I really hope Bethesda tries to listen to the 10% and actually improve the game, but the 10% seems to be hidden behind the 90% posting crap like this. Good job. You say the game svcks, yet in truth you are actually helping to prevent Bethesda from improving.

Thats true, but the people who respond to the useless complain are just as bad.

Best game i ever played and I hated OB, only mods made OB bearably playable, skyrimg is a great game right out of the box and will be much better 1-2 years after mods will come out.

Each to his own. I personally think Skyrim knocks both Morrowind and Oblivion out of the park.
This. ^^

Everyone can have your own opinion... but when you are hating the game, i'm loving it.

I remember a few months before sKyrim was released, I played Oblivion for the first time and loved it so much. I played like 30 -40 hours only though (and modded it like hell), but then stopped playing it all together because I didn't want to get bored of the game, I wanted to be able to buy Skyrim and not feel bored like I've played it too much (I expected tyhem both to be pretty much the same).

Unfortunately Skyrim was much LESS, it was Oblivion with lots removed and practically nothing added, I am enjoying the game, but it pales in comparison to oblivion, that is an ACTUAL RPG! And as I slowly lose interest in the action adventure that is skyrim my urge for an RPG is getting stronger and stronger. I will be playing Oblivion soon, I'll be playing an RPG soon.

Why havent mods locked this "Megaton_Pimp" guy? This thread was obviously created to flame, he has not given criticism but instead has been saying stuff like it svcks or that he wants his money back - that is called flaming. Even the name gives it away for gods sake.

Me? I'm loving every second of it and will enjoy it even more when the CK is out.

I agree with this statement despite agreeing with the OP as well.

I don’t criticise games easily but this is the worst of the series. What was Bethesda playing at? It’s like Oblivion with all the fun taken out, crap voice actors and boring quests. The guilds are just garbage and are over way too quickly. It’s not much fun either. No immersion whatsoever. No substance. Dragons appear so often they lose their shine within the first five hours and are too easy to take down.

I want my money back but will give it another few hours or play in the hope a miracle happens and it gets better after 30 hours.
oblivion and morrowind was better. yes, but skyrim is no bad game, infact the best of the year in my opinion.

I do personally dislike certain development decisions made after "Morrowind", but I can still enjoy playing "Skyrim". The polarization on these forums is extreme and while i agree with some of the complaints, I fail to understand the aggressive reactions from both critics and those who defenders of this game. It is clearly subjective if you like or dislike the decisions made during the production of these more recent games, games which continue to sell better and better for every new release, so it seems Bethesda softworks is on the right track from a business stand-point.

For us in the minority who for some reason preferred the older games this is a negative but unavoildable process and while constructive critism is positive; Claiming that the game "svcks" serves just as little purpose as those that refuse to aknowledge that this game is not perfect.

The only reason i can see Skyrim losing game of the year is because people cant finish the main quests when certain things happen... I dont know how they didnt bug test the MAIN QUEST but i have run into several people who are unabale to finish the game... How can Skyrim be game of the year when it cannot be completed? Zelda gets my vote 100%, at least their game was tested.

I bet that if Skyrim didn't have graphics it has, most of current Skyrim fan-boys/girls would claim that it's not nothing special.

I think you are all upset over the capabilities not existing that did before. Now, don't you think Bethesda spent some time perusing through various forums (and theirs) gathering data on how people exploited their game? In Morrowind, you had the levitate potion or spell that went bye-bye in Oblivion. Why? Could it be because everyone used it to fly instead of walk or use fast transportation? Not to mention the various ways people abused trainers to level up. I know I did it. What about the chameleon enchantment? It was there in Oblivion and gone in Skyrim. Could it be because all one had to do was enchant clothing articles with 20% - 25% chameleon to achieve 100% and be essentially invisible? You don't think that looked at all of that?

I like that the spells are standardized -- not to mention the shouts. The shouts are fun.
I like that that it's not necessary to learn alchemy if you focus on enchanting and restoration. You don't have to lug around a ton of potions with you if don't want to. But, I'm sure some of you do and are potion-holics. Always downing a potion in the middle of a fight instead of trying to manage your resources.
I like that you never have to delve far into the main quest and can spend hours doing guild quests and side quests.
I like that you control when dragons appear in the game. You never have to visit Whiterun.
You don't have to start the civil war. You can put off the legion and stormcloaks for a long time.

I don't like that the best armors -- appearance wise -- are awarded to you. I'd like to craft my own thief's guild armor and enchant it to fit my style. I'd like to be able to craft better looking leather armor. But, that won't happen.

This game is not as awful as you "die-hards" say it is. Bethesda created a huge open world that looks way better than Morrowind or Oblivion. It could be you're tired of seeing the same old enemies and want to know where your Minatour is or something? I don't miss them. They don't have to do it all in the base game. They have tons of room for DLC material. So, give it time. Not everyone playing wants your ideal "immersion". Many people just want to play the game and not spend tons of hours collecting ingredients, mining for ore, or walking everywhere.

Morrowind and Fallout 3 are Beths masterpieces.

Skyrim is good, but not great.
Morrowind is a mediocre POS. Daggerfall is better.

Yes, it's not as good as the first time you played Morrowind or Oblivion. So?

There weren't any boring quests in Morrowind? Did Oblivion had good voice actors? Really?
Your criticism isn't very sound. You just remember those games differently.

Objectively Skyrim is the best game in the series, I think it's just you getting older.
Find a new hobby and play Skyrim moderately; you'll be able to appreciate it a lot more.
