I like to read that with the Argonian voice actress in mind (umm.. like Keerava).

Finished my drawing of Ondolemar... http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a229/drakkenfan/ondfinalj.jpg
Oh yes.. I am a Thalmor fan.

Wooooow.

As much as I dislike the Thalmor's plans and methods, I have to admit, alot of the guys are pretty hot. Especially with those snazzy black robes.

Nice drawing!

Actually, according to Nord creation stories, humans were created in Skyrim, on High Hrothgar. So they believe that Skyrim is the original homeland of mankind. When the Nords returned to attack the Falmer, they were taking back their homeland from the elves who had driven them off in the first place.

The Cyrodiils are descendants of the Nedic people who, were the original inhabitants of the imperial province. It was the Ayleids who were the intruders there, enslaving the Nedes.

Even if you don't believe the Nord versions of creation, even the other creation stories say that both humans and elves originated on Tamriel, descended from the Ehlnofey. It was just SOME of the humans left, and then returned.

End of story: humans are no less intruders on Tamriel than the elves are.

Also, the original inhabitants of Summerset Isle/Alinor were the Sload, not the Altmer. The Altmer took it from them. So maybe they should return it and go live on the mainland.

Hi Kitty99,

didn`t the Nords come to Skyrim from Atmora(?), befriend the Falmer, be driven off by them later and come back for vengeance forcing the Falmer into the welcoming arms of the Dwemer?

Anyway, in this gameworld I`m all for exterminating the filthy human cattle as long as I`m playing an Altmer char.

But I only ever play Bosmer so...

They don't have to make a Thalmor victory canon. Fallout: NV could have ended with the whole Mojave dead (after Dead Money).

Off course it must be canon. Because after all the ultimate goal of the Thalmor is to destroy all of Lorkhan's creation. They believe that will release them from the bounds of Lorkhan's trickery, believing that they can then return to their "rightful" place in the immortal planes.

[edit]
You could even speculate that the stopping of Talos worship is only a step necessary in their plan. Stopping Talos worship will greatly reduce or even nullify Talos' power. In that light it's quite clear that they actually do believe Talos is a divine, be it that he is a devine whom needs to be overcome if they're going to be able to accomplish their ultimate goal. Also in that light their religious extremism and purism is just a pretext to conceal their greater scheme.

Does all that make me adverse to the Thalmor? Well, I'm just sure they won't succeed. Because Thalmor succes would mean and end to TES. It would be canon. Other than that I do somewhat admire them for the greatness of their scheme, be it that I do despise them for wanting to eradicate everything and everyone only to their own benefit.

Yes, they did come from Atmora. But they were returning from Atmora.

All elves and men originated on Tamriel. It's just how they were created that have differences in the different cultures.

Altmer = Elven, more extreme version of the Stormcloaks. Their idealistic values are wrong but as i primarily play high elves (have since morrowind) i sympathise their ignorance. But no i don't agree with their views.

Hi again Kitty99,

did the Nords to start with leave Skyrim for Atmora to return later? Or some other place in Tamriel?

Anyway, it`s not that important, just curious...

This is a quotation from the Pocket Guide to the Empire, first edition:

Throat of the World: This is the highest mountain in Skyrim, and the highest in Tamriel aside from Vvardenfell in Morrowind. The Nords believe men were formed on this mountain when the sky breathed onto the land. Hence the Song of Return refers not only to Ysgramor's return to Tamriel after the destruction of Saarthal, but to the Nords' return to what they believe was their original homeland.

Talos must be gone to maintain the balance between mer gods & men gods in the realm of the divines. Typical how the Elf hating Nord decide to break this balance by over stepping his boundaries. I wouldn't be suprised if it wasn't them that was responsible for current events at Skyrim. Actually it was.

Although Ancano is protaryed as the bad guy in the game, I can quite rightly sympathise with him as Thalmors having Dwemer tehcnology instead of men will mean no repeat of Tiber Septim.

It seems like that was St. Alessia's agenda, and how she managed to create the first empire. Then Talos came and confused matters again.

I don't hate Thalmor. They are too stupid to be hated. They have big ideas of supremacy and all, they are supposed to enforce the white gold concordat, ban Talos worshippers... but they are like three idiots in the wild, a bunch of worthless guards in the ceremony inflitration mission of the MQ, while there's a funny guy shouting all days and nights his love for Talos at the very bottom of the stairs up to Dragonreach, in the rather Imperial-sided town of Whiterun...
They just sound like jerks who believe they rule, but clearly their presence is near inexistent.

Nice loot though, so it's a reason to like them. :)

Thalmor, i love killing them with Wuuthrad and choping their heads off. so much fun.

and no im no nord. If we could play back before nord's started coming to skyrim, my Beast-men character's would join the side of the Snow Elf's as it is THEIR original homeland. Im all about the ORIGINAL occupiers of land

I like the thalmor because they give me someone to indiscriminately murder on sight. I get crap from them even when I'm playing an altmer, so they are vermin to be exterminated.

The thalmor and caesar's legion are both there to be killed on sight. Good move by the developers by the way.

No Thalmor would mean against Imperials. There's no such thing as neutral. Either Imperial or rebel if they don't accept the Empire. And actually, the Jarl of Whiterun is on the Imperial side, even if he's not fond of their presence.
Anyway that's not what I call enforcing the white gold concordat. Basically Thalmor just keep their tail between their legs. Oh look a neutral city, let's respect their opinion!

No he is forced to join, because Ulfric won't make peace. He says he takes no sides. Have you spoken to him about the CW lately?
