Can I see the US console art? Link to it? That is some nice art though.

A huge step down from http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/91/Demon%27s_Souls_Cover.jpg Though still another huge step down from http://www.shopncsx.com/images1/products/detail/demon_soul.jpg

PC version has the best cover. then demon souls, then Japan's art, and in dead last by a long shot is the US Dark Souls. God it was bad.

http://playstationlifestyle.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Dark-Souls-PS3-Box-Art-JP-685x794.jpg the original Japanese cover if you're curious. And http://www.diedagain.com/sites/default/files/u5/Dark-Souls-Box-Art-EU.jpg. Damn, even they have a better one than the US.

Though still another huge step down from http://www.shopncsx.com/images1/products/detail/demon_soul.jpg
Just buying the game kills you!

Another Petition for it? I think they are not going to listen to us this time. So .. it's going to be for nothing.

Might as well. I'll probably end up getting the game when it goes down in price despite the annoying GFWL support, but I'd sure rather it be supported by Steam.

They're already cutting it pretty short with the August release, there's no way if they're currently porting over the matchmaking system to GFWL that they would be able to start from scratch with Steamworks and release on time. Not without rushing the rest of the port, anyway.

Man. Console gamers supported From Software first. They were the ones that increased sales for them. 360 & PS3 gamers. I still don't get why they may not, but PC gamers get it for free. Great. That's just a bunch of bull. I was thinking of getting it. But ..

.. Game for Windows Live .. :(

You got the game first, we may never have gotten it. I'm definitely not opposed to you guys getting it, just stating you've had your boon already.

I think it makes sense to include some extra content when you release a later port - in fact Oblivion did just that with its PS3 edition.

However it seems very strange to make this new content for the PC release and not offer it as DLC to the existing versions.

Just started Demon's Souls for the first time and played it for 2-3 hours, and so far it's rather meh. It's not the difficulty that bothers me either, it's not really that hard as long you're cautious (although I have died a couple of times ). It's just that I never really cared or enjoyed dungeon crawlers in the past (with very few exceptions) but I figured I should give the game a chance anyway considering how much praise Demon's Souls and Dark Souls received. So I bought them both, and now I feel it may not been the best of ideas

Oh well, I guess I will continue with it a bit more and see if it grows on me, or simply just move on to another game.

It's much better when you play it online (when there's someone else online as well, hehe). However, the single-player experience is great because of the feeling you get when you finally beat a boss. Digging deeper into the unknown was a very fun experience the first time around.

World 3 - Tower of Latria. I'll not forget going there for the first time. I love that place.

Oh, and you'll want to make sure you enjoy the online experience while you can. The servers are being shut down for good on May 31st.

Excited, but I'm going to have to wait until it goes on sale. There's something fundamentally wrong with paying $50 to claw my eyes out in frustration. :P

A little disappointed after reading that. With minimal optimisation for the platform I expect a few bugs to creep in. Additionally, the minimal support for keyboard and mouse is not heartening news.

If by 'challenge' you mean 'learning which direction to point the camera in so as to minimize lag,' then yes.

I'm not surprised at all, when was the last time a japanese game released for PC that wasn't a poor console port?

Oh wait, The Last Remnant was somewhat ok, I guess, but that's one rare exception that still offer a much smoother experience with a gamepad. Most of them are just junk.

Naturally when the game doesn't do so great, they'll blame pirates. Instead of their own ineptitude. Despite the fact that they even mentioned not knowing how to work with porting a PC game over. I signed the petition, so I have to buy the game. I just fear I've made a mistake. All I can pray for is if they bring the next game to PC from the start it isn't complete trash of a port. If they screw that up, then I'm gone. I'll have given this series its one chance.

Got this game for PS3. Played around with it a little bit. It controls very similarly to Monster Hunter, just slower. Big demon thing in the very very beginning of the game. If I take my time I could probably kill him with the basic sword and shield. Perhaps even the broken sword hilt. Though I'm guessing this is just a tiny taste of what is to come? So far though the game isn't holding me like I thought it was. Though that could be because I'm playing Sly Cooper, an addictive game.

Edit
It has a very slow attack, and with enough study I could get its attack pattern down. Then its just a matter of repeat until dead. Unless I need some quest specific item to defeat it (which I doubt).

The demon can be defeated. What you've noticed with him is true for the entire game, which is why it's not actually that hard a game: with patience and study of the enemies (and a bit of good timing), the game becomes entirely easy. Of course, there's still the heavy consequences for when you mess up.

By 'holding you,' do you mean holding your interest? If so, and you're still in the very beginning tutorial area (which is sounds like you are), wait until you reach the game proper. It gets better.
