Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #30

Meh, same difference. I just think they need to remove the wings from the Vampire Lord, and make them the real Volkihar vampires, but that is just my honest opinion. If they make the Vampire Lord another power that breaks lore because last time I checked the Cyrodiilic vampires couldn't do that.
Time will tell, I guess. We have no clue what type of vampire this is or how it came to be. I wouldn't be surprised if it's anothe Daedra pact scenario thing, which I am not hoping for.

You don't get it. We had to be dragonborn in the main quest. There is no way around it. So people so stop complaining IF we are forced to play as vampires. Get my point now?

Isn't Michael Kirkbridge the guy who always writes about cosmos and genetics and goes to the tiniest detail in Elder Scrolls? Did he even write anything vampire related before? I know the lore guys in the lore section see him as a god or something.

It's Michael KirkBRIDE. He's the reason dark elves are so awesomely weird, and why redguards can split atoms with their swords. Basically, he's the source of all the surreal, bizaare aspects of the elder scrolls that make the series unique.

Yeah I don't want the current vampires to be the product of another Daedric Prince pact, that would take away from the uniqueness of the Cyrodiilic vampires. My guess is evolution over two hundred years, or the Order and the Volkihar mixed the bloodlines.

Eh, the optimist in me wants to agree especially considering we don't know if they'll in fact use that snippet from the Game Jam video as the actual transformation but considering how many people seem to want it... Well, popular opinion beats out what makes sense lore-wise nine times out of ten. Should probably just be thankful vampires don't sparkle... yet.
The TES where they do start to sparkle will be the day that i burn everything Bethesda related i own

Too late! Haha!

You'll have to deal with it just like most of us had to deal with damn dragons being in the spotlight.

Bloodmoon-werewolves.
Oblivion-Daedra.
Skyrim-Dragons.
Dawnguard-Vampires.

It's been confirmed that there will be vampires/a Vampire Lord. That's not the same as a confirmation that the DLC iteself is about vampires. I'm sure there's going to be much more than just vampires, because not everyone likes vampires, many people even hate them, as I'm sure Bethesda knows well.

Maybe Vampire lords are a unique breed of the vampires that reside in Molag bal's realm.

You have a point. Like Skyrim had dragons, but many people hate dragons and there many other things to do than just fight those overgrown generic lizards.

I think Bethesda will appease every type of person in Dawnguard. People that enjoy vampires and the rest who like Snow Elves and stuff like that.

Vampires = stupid^3. The same goes with Lycanthropy. Two boring, peripheral, and nearly non-aspects of the game getting so much attention seems to indicate that new content will be largely sh!t based.

If I wanted to play a vampire I'd go buy a game based on vampires. Same with werewolves. Will the flying vampire lords be sparkly? If you take perks in the lycanthropy tree will you have to battle a sparkly flying vampire lord with the Sword of Teen Angst for Ysolda's heart?

This is pathetic.

Well then maybe you shouldn't have bought a game where your character is called "Dragonborn"---or where the main quest centers around killing a dragon---a dragon that's going around bringing other dragons back to life. And where the best armors are made from dragons because dragons are essential to telling a story that involves dragons.

You know why people who don't like car racing don't go to NASCAR events? It's because they don't like car racing. Therefore if one doesn't like the idea dragons maybe they shouldn't buy a product that's full of them.

If I want vampire crap (which I don't--and I do mean crap) there are a billion other sources for them.

Actually there is NOT a billion other sources. There has not been a new vamp game in quite some time. Dark is coming out but it looks terrible

And plus Dragons have been in 1 TES game, guess how many TES games vamps have been in?

Dragons were a main part of Skyrim, and they were boring, peripheral and just idiotic. But hey, I respect other people's opinions. It's funny how 12 year olds these days assume if something is about vampires, it relates to Twilight. See, people need to first clean out their diapers before they make such an assumption. Vampires have been around centuries before Twilight. Elder Scrolls had them decades before Twilight was even thought of, but the babies don't understand because that because they are caught up on what society dictactes to be normal.

I'm 42 years old, junior. What I see is Bethesda trying to cash in on a trend precisely because of a younger target audience. If I want X product, I buy X product, not Y product. Vampires are trendy for kids right now and to put such an emphasis on them in this game svcks.

I think you just read my mind, I was going to say the same thing.

To Bacillus anthracis: Shut the [censored] up. Saying stupid [censored] like that makes no sense because I guarantee most people here who want vampire or werewolf content do not want it because of Twilight.

Seriously? Look at your history sir. Vampires have been in TES since 1994 and Lycanthropy since 1996. I'm fairly sure that is waaaayyy older than the "Twilight" series.
