Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #30

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 3:01 pm

I'm 42 years old, junior. What I see is Bethesda trying to cash in on a trend precisely because of a younger target audience. If I want X product, I buy X product, not Y product. Vampires are trendy for kids right now and to put such an emphasis on them in this game svcks.
Twilight started in the 2000 years, TES has had vamps WAY before youngin

Well then maybe you shouldn't have bought a game where your character is called "Dragonborn"---or where the main quest centers around killing a dragon---a dragon that's going around bringing other dragons back to life. And where the best armors are made from dragons because dragons are essential to telling a story that involves dragons.

You know why people who don't like car racing don't go to NASCAR events? It's because they don't like car racing. Therefore if one doesn't like the idea dragons maybe they shouldn't buy a product that's full of them.

If I want vampire crap (which I don't--and I do mean crap) there are a billion other sources for them.

The character may be called "Dragonborn" but we have the option to IGNORE the main quest. Let me repeat the word; ignore the main quest. No main quest=no dragons=no dragonborn. Makes sense? Of course, it should. Did people have to play as dragonborn and slay sragons? No, thats why we are given other guilds to join, places to explorer, non-dragon related quests to do. I bought Skyrim not for dragons, but for other content that I consider more interesting than dragons. So maybe you can just get off the high-donkey and accept that Dawnguard may be vampire related, but not vampire centric. M'kay?

Actually there is NOT a billion other sources. There has not been a new vamp game in quite some time. Dark is coming out but it looks terrible

And plus Dragons have been in 1 TES game, guess how many TES games vamps have been in?

There are a billion other sources for vampire stuff. There are classic books and films on them and there are also video games as well. If they svck, oh well. Then maybe that indicates that there isn't a real market for such a video game.

Let me repeat: There has been no Vamp GAMES in a long time. Books, movies, and games are NOT the same thing since you were unaware

Many people hate dragons so it could never be the spotlight of a game...beth knows this

Which is why I said that I'm sure it won't be solely about vampires, and that there will be other stuff to do for those among us who do not like vampires.

The files also mention a snow elf prince and children crying, but that doesn't mean that the Falmer are going to be the spotlight of the dlc either.

Skyrim's main quest is the best example for what I was saying: the main quest is about dragons, but the main quest is quite short and you have tons of other things to do. There are ruins to explore, different guilds to join, people to help/kill and none of these things have anything at all to do with dragons. Some people even ignore the main quest of Skyrim entirely and still have fun playing the game for 200+ hours.

I think you just read my mind, I was going to say the same thing.

To Bacillus anthracis: Shut the [censored] up. Saying stupid [censored] like that makes no sense because I guarantee most people here who want vampire or werewolf content do not want it because of Twilight.

Vampire content in Skyrim is f'ing lame. It's as lame as the mounted combat that's apparently upcoming, it's as lame as the limp lycanthrophy mode, and it's as lame as you. But lame people like lame crap that amounts to little more than a few visual effects to look at without bringing anymore substance to the game. So good on you and those like you for pushing the idiot agenda.

Vampires were overdone and stale even before Twilight. Something about the Dawn Era would have at least been interesting.

Actually two.

The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

As for Vampires? Every single main TES game to date.

This is a lesson i learned when i 1st found the great "Internet": If you are trying to prove a point fueled by multiple people then do NOT allow people who insult or make bad points to join your cause because (as you just proved) they make your entire "cause" mean nothing

The point, genius, is that there are many other sources of entertainment for vampire-related content.
