Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #30

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 9:20 am

Considering how many people want to "go back to Morrowind" I wouldn't be surprised if they'd fulfill that wish. Technically speaking Blacklight lies just outside of Skyrim's border. It's size would also fit the description we were given.

Yep. Though I don't want to see the Volkihar unless I get to fight them as a Sanguinare Vampiris vampire.

About umbriel D: i know this is off topic but, will there ever be a third elder scrolls novel? I always wondered what happens next and who the emperor in skyrim actually is,I mean isnt he supposed to be Titus mede II ?:/ and the emperor in the books is titus mede I thats weird becouse skyrim takes place so many years after that event. Who is the father of him? x3 okay to much off topic now..

I agree I do not want to be forced into any role of any kind to enjoy the game, it should be an additional thing, something the expansion offers if you wish to play it, I do not like you are forced into a role with the companions, that was upsetting because I was hoping it was something that could happen in the wilderness like vampirism.
Kind of like how we were forced to be the Dragonborn if we wanted to play the main quest or even do the CIvil War questline?
Regarding vampire-lords, keep this in mind: Most of the books and legends concerning vampires in Tamriel are based on folklore and half-truths. As a result, there are many things not mentioned in-game about vampires that may very well be true.
Eh, no. Vampire of VVardfenfell, Immortal Blood and also Vampires of Illiac Bay are all accurate in their potrayal of vampires.

Actually, the fact that the Game Jam vampire warlord doesn't look like the Volkhiars from "Immortal Blood" makes me think that it is a strain of vampirism originating from another place than Skyrim, hence substantiating the idea that we'll get to explore new places.
Immortal Blood never gets into detail how a Volkihar vampire looks like. Just their feeding habits.

Coffins? Think we finally get to sleep in them now? Like in the http://legoless.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/lair05.png for Oblivion? I hope we do. Never got a chance to buy Deepscorn Hollow for PS3 and I always wanted my character to sleep in a coffin.

Not like it's not the same thing with every other TES game.

Yup yup. I love Deepscorn Hollow. Every character of mine has to own that one, even if they aren't Vamps. Something appeals to this Goth guy about sleeping in a coffin. ;)

Yeah, people shouldn't complain if they are forced to become a vampire in the main quest of the DLC. Just saying.

You have to pay for it and you have to have either a Xbox 360 or a PC to be able to download the DLC. It's most likely vampire influenced in a way. Considering we have vampire animations, crossbows, immortal Snow Princes and coffin animations. There is even a coffin puzzle animation that makes me wonder if we are going to unearth a long dead vampire or something. Maybe for a vampire quest?

Yeah, vampires in Elder Scrolls and folklore(before modern day media soiled it) have always slept in coffins and graves. Makes sense to add them in the game.

I can see this being just like Bloodmoon. Bethesda would not force the player to be a vampire. It's likely they have two branching questlines that are parallel. Like in the Civil War quests you can choose to join either the Stormcloaks or the Imperial Legion. Or Bloodmoon where you can join the Skaal villagers or the werewolves.

Yeah,I got almost all oblivion add ons :) But i did not get Horse armor,Since i never had a horse, they were so clumsy in oblivion. And hmm. That sounds epic, And i am wondering those flying vampire lords we have seen in gamejam,is it those we are talking about? do they really exist in lore?

And now it almost seems like snow prince vs great ancient vampire? if so,maybe you could choose wich to side with, well i have no idea what its going to be about.

Yes, it is those flying lords in the gamejam, though it might be tweaked and different than we saw. They have not been mentioned in lore, but Bethesda can release an ingame book or something about it. No one knows about the Snow Prince. We speculate he may be a vampire locked away in some coffin that we get to unlock.

Forced to be Dragonborn... lol. Sounds like some people were forced to play Skyrim.

Noone will be forced to be a Vampire. It's not even logical. Like I said before. Some people chose to be werewolfs. What then? Are they scre**** and can forget about the DLC?

Just stop this, it's nonsense.

Don't like the yampire lord thing, simply because it's incredible uncreative.... I have the feeling that Betheseda without Michael Kirkbridge only can do generic fantasy and nothing special.

Why not Vohikars, why not do an other interpretation of a vampire, something more related do nordic mythology and of course they should crush with their hands through the ice...

But why do something like this vampirelord, which is seen a hundred times before, why so uncreative Betheseda, don't want to create a unique world?

I have one advice. Stop playing RPG's... or just stop roleplaying.

Main Quest and Civil War Quest are linked together and serve as the main storyline, which EVERY GAME HAS. What a surprise...
Companions. Don't join them. Really, it's that easy and if you do, you can either refuse to become a werewolf or cure youself later, it's easy and simple.
