Dawnguard Beta Discussion - Thread #6

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 6:32 pm

Waiting for something with bated breath always makes it come slower. For those who don't know what to do, I command that you go forth and watch the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy. You'll like it again (who doesn't?) and by that time you won't even care if you're selected for the beta as you'll want to be a rider of Rohan with mounted combat anyway. Then when the DLC comes out it'll be a pleasant surprise, not an agonising conclusion to weeks of waiting.

I have to wait until this summer to watch it because I'm watching the entire extended edition trilogy as part of a LotR drinking game. I am trying to go through ACII again, I haven't bought a game since November and Dawnguard will be the newest content to grace my 360 in months, and I'm bored of almost all my games so I'm getting desperate. I was counting down until today, I was so sure that Bethesda would actually hold true for once.

If i get into the beta, I am gonna feel bad for the forum users that have to deal with "OMG Guyz X is in dawnguard!" threads

I would say the moment you hear about codes going out, go dark until the 26th

I wish you mods good luck, your gonna have your hands full.

I'm guessing anyone lucky enough to participate will probably need to sign an NDA.

Signed up for the beta two days ago so we'll see. Would be pretty cool to get the beta though, I mean who wouldn't go nuts?

Just had to be fair and put down my two low level(highest is 36 now) characters as I had to repair my xbox some time ago and decided to just start over again. Deleted all saves, reinstalled and went for it. I've already done all the quests so now I'm just exploring really and not so much concerned with doing all the quests again. I might even start a new character for Dawnguard.
Yea i absolutely have to start a new game when i get Dawguard regardless if i get it by the beta or just buying it

Why can't Bethesda ever come up with a date and stick to it? It's not the waiting that bothers me, it's not knowing how long to wait!

I just plugged my xbox into live again for the first time in months a few days ago and some of the achievements were gone, like the level 50 and 1000 gold bounty. then to top it, I deleted my level 60 something account (I believe it was 67) on accident, that i had put over 150 hours into a was so pissed that I deleted my level 50 something account in a fit of rage... fml

I am now using my level 35 melee nord with only 100 hours (exactly) of game time into it...

I don't want Bethesda to think I lied to them in the form i filled out so can anyone tell me how to resubmit it with the updated information?

lol, I love this smiley :fakenopic:

Just re-apply with the same email address. The new application will over-write the old one automatically.

I was looking through my stats to see how many dragons souls I had collected, and I noticed under quests, "Dawnguard Quests completed". Well they will have to hurry up and release the DLC if they expect us to put up with a big zero in the list like that. :bolt:

I'm sorry if this has already been answered, but ther are 6 pages of this thread to search through... does Bethesda have a specific way of choosing beta testers, or will they just select X amount random of people from the entries?

We don't know. Nobody knows. Only Beth knows and Beth hasn't told us anything. They could do it by random computer, they could pick it through the alphabet. Who knows?

This is assuming he is being honest and didn't just google an FAQ and then claim credit for himself.
I haven't checked myself BTW. If the guy is truthful, then yeah, its worth mentioning - why not? Its not svcking up, its a valid point, someone thourough enough to write a guide would be good. Why hate?
completely agree
