Dawnguard Beta Discussion - Thread #6

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:25 am

This is assuming he is being honest and didn't just google an FAQ and then claim credit for himself.

I haven't checked myself BTW. If the guy is truthful, then yeah, its worth mentioning - why not? Its not svcking up, its a valid point, someone thourough enough to write a guide would be good. Why hate?

send an email to the address at the bottom of the guide and I will reply ;) and it is a very thourough guide, so thanks :)

You'll know when people got their beta codes, when a lot of posters goes missing for a while.

Probably this.

Although I doubt I will get in due to only having signed for it yesterday, I just want to wish everyone good luck, and may you review the good, the bad and the ugly as great as the best reviewers.

I wonder how one contacts Bethesda my guess is that its in the email they send and you probably send it to the people themselves, but im just speculating.

I believe they will create a new area of the forum for beta testers to report things.

Todd said on the E3 G4tv Dawnguard preview that if the beta of Dawnguard goes well they release it June 26, so whoever will be lucky enough to get a beta key :woot: should remember that the whole community relies on the beta testers to do their work so that Dawnguard can be released scheduled. No pressure intended :P

I'm not sure if it has been addressed, but I signed for the beta with the same e-mail that I signed up with for the forums. However, I was not a member of the forums before I signed up for the beta, Do I still have to do it all over again, or is that just in case two different e-mails are used?

I guarantee you someone's going to do that just to troll.

The people who really got a beta key won't be doing so if they want to keep their forum privileges and probably their beta access, since an NDA is involved in the beta signup.

NOTE: If you accidentally signed up for the beta before joining the forum, you may want to sign up for the Beta again using the same email address, which will delete your previous entry and replace it with the new one.

Gotcha, I had read that; but I just wasn't sure if it was to make sure you didn't use separate e-mails. Thank you. :D

Signed up for the beta two days ago so we'll see. Would be pretty cool to get the beta though, I mean who wouldn't go nuts?

Just had to be fair and put down my two low level(highest is 36 now) characters as I had to repair my xbox some time ago and decided to just start over again. Deleted all saves, reinstalled and went for it. I've already done all the quests so now I'm just exploring really and not so much concerned with doing all the quests again. I might even start a new character for Dawnguard.

While I do wish you luck, I think you should try to keep what you say on-topic. This is about the Beta for Dawnguard. And no, kissing up to Bethesda won't help (if that's what you're doing)
What is you guy's problem and the adoring fan stuff? Do you think they will choose the beta applicants on forum experience? I mean i have my main account for about 2-3 years and never participated in the foru, and you think they wont choose me? While you may think it's fair for you, the fact is that it isn't. No one can do 1000 posts in one week without spamming like crazy. Just calm down, kissing their ass WONT give you the beta because they probably won't even see the "ass kissing" per say. Calm down you guise

I highly doubt he was insinuating that forum experience was a deciding factor. Aside from the fact that there is absolutely nothing that user has posted to suggest such a thing, I think its fairly obvious that the recipients of beta keys will be randomly selected from a target demographic, and I think we all kinda know it.

Can't wait for this DLC. So far I have liked all of Bethesda's DLCs as they have seemed to be entirely unique from the main game. This one will be one of my favroites though.

There always has been some flaws, the Pitt DLC's release comes to mind, but I think Bethesda as a whole are learning from their mistakes.

I can say honestly and without shame that I only signed onto these forums because I heard about the Beta and its requirements. In this way, Bethesda has successfully advertised their forum to me, and they have also gathered lots of information from the sign-up process which will no doubt be used to shape their decisions at a later date. It's a clever way to get a large community response to what is essentially a questionnaire, and a clever way to get more forum members, whilst also getting people to iron out any final bugs in the DLC.

That's not to say that once the testers are chosen I'll leave and never return. Not at all; whilst I signed up for the beta, that doesn't mean that's the only thing I'll use this forum for. But I won't try and hide it either; I'm a scrounger, but an honest scrounger.

Well, if it's a decent beta test, they'd be looking for a wide range of people. Some playstyles might catch things others wouldn't.

If you play on an Xbox 360, have a Gold account, and a pulse, then you're a candidate.
