Dawnguard Beta Discussion - Thread #6

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 5:57 pm

6 threads in and still nobody knows when codes go out. And we are not going to know.

The only way you will know is if you get a code, and then you cannot tell :P

I can imagine the devs sitting around the office, reading bug reports and our forum rants while todd sits in his office and strokes his beard ( he grew a magic beard just so he could stroke it )

Just sitting there waiting for the right moment to sen the emails.

When is that moment? Only Todd knows.

... (checks email again)

Aww.... Junk mail.

I would really like to be able to be apart of this beta, maybe if they send out enough beta codes we will be able to help get rid of a lot of the bugs before release. :)

That's pretty much the point of having a Beta.

To be honest, I synced my email to my phone right after I signed up for the beta, and every time my email ringtone goes I almost have a heart attack

Thought of something: Wouldn't it break our contract we made if we are picked for the beta if our friend's or random people see we have more achivements than they do (new ones from dawnguard I mean)....I mean wouldn't that basicly say "Hey look we got the beta!!!"

Edit:put here since other board was closed so ppl got something to think on

I can't wait for a bunch of, "DAWNGUARD BETA IS BUGGY!" threads. I've seen so many people do this during beta's.

I'm pretty sure that those threads would prompt swift reprisal from Bethesda as it would shatter the NDA that they agreed to...

That was assuming the beta had its own private forum.

They've already said it will, but people will still make public forums about it, because some people are just not smart.

Sadly, this.

If i get into the beta, I am gonna feel bad for the forum users that have to deal with "OMG Guyz X is in dawnguard!" threads

I would say the moment you hear about codes going out, go dark until the 26th

I wish you mods good luck, your gonna have your hands full.

This is bologna, I'm pretty sure the info was supposed to come out TODAY!

Then again, these are the same people who say that if something is supposed to be revealed in April, it would ALWAYS be released on the 31st. :sadvaultboy:

The more you worry about it, the longer it will take.

Play some skyrim, watch a movie, waste a day or two. It should come sometime over the weekend... They have to give themselves a large enough window to actually fix bugs.

I apologize in advanced if it seems like there is an obvious answer to my question but I am curious, does international mean Canada or does it fit into the US category. Sometimes certain contests or promotions usually peg Canada into the US choice and that's why Im uncertain as to whether I choose incorrectly or not. Thanks :)

Completely unrelated to the topic at hand >.<

Anyway, do you guys know how beta testers will know where to look for glitches? (like, will they inform the beta testers of what's new so they can check it out for glitches?)

I doubt anyone knows xP
No they won't. You will do your own thing and report back bugs in a closed forum. To everyone - Try to read the previous threads as your question is likely to already have been answered.

I'd choose international as if you get a Us code it may not work on Canadian xbox live. There does seem to be debate though whether Canada counts as international or not.

As long as the people do what there supposed to do they should be fine, but do to the massive influx of new members i agree with you.

can I resubmit my entry form for the beta, my last one had three accounts on it, and I accedently deleted two of the accounts by saving over them with another one (oops), and I want my information to be as accurate as possible.

Also, good luck to everyone who registered.

Waiting for something with bated breath always makes it come slower. For those who don't know what to do, I command that you go forth and watch the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy. You'll like it again (who doesn't?) and by that time you won't even care if you're selected for the beta as you'll want to be a rider of Rohan with mounted combat anyway. Then when the DLC comes out it'll be a pleasant surprise, not an agonising conclusion to weeks of waiting.
