I have been since last week since when they first announced the beta sign up. I wish they could just give us a day when the codes will go to those who get accepted so I can about my life like a normal person. Also, I hope when the codes do go out, they post some notification stating "The codes have been sent. If you didn't get one, you can stop checking"

I actually don't want it anymore. I want to play the DLC as bug-fee as possible. I signed up for it and I'm not sure what I'd do if I actually got it now.

If I get into beta, my first thng will be to smith a crossbow and fight a legendary dragon.

This isn't really the point of the beta, I daresay. While I'm not saying you shouldn't have fun, what Bethesda wants and needs from beta testers is a careful anolysis of what they've created, people who will search constantly for bugs, glitches, or things they just missed, and report them to Bethesda so they can be fixed in time for the true release, so everyone can enjoy a version of Dawnguard that's as bug-free as possible. You can still have fun, but thinking "oh man it would be so cool to do such and such if I'm in the beta" will only bring a greater disappointment if you don't make it.

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

But part of the test to to see whether or not its fun. Without that, no one will want it. Sticklers never enjoy themselves

As I said
"While I'm not saying you shouldn't have fun"
"You can still have fun"

I'm just trying to say that people in general should take this a bit more seriously =P

A beta test is not about fun. They've already confirmed that. They want us to find all of the bugs there are so that they can patch the most important ones before the public gets it.

Again, it's not that you can't have fun, it's that your primary focus has to be bug finding with fun as a seco-

Completely unrelated to the topic at hand >.<

Anyway, do you guys know how beta testers will know where to look for glitches? (like, will they inform the beta testers of what's new so they can check it out for glitches?)

I doubt anyone knows xP

You need to give Bethesda more credit. They've probably found the obvious glitches and removed them already. The ones we'd be looking for would be obscure, harder to find (yet still enough to present issues)

stuff like that.

Thanks, sounds like good advice

Well, color and lighting issues would probably be something to look at. Subtitle errors. Voices or volume cutting out where it shouldn't. Problems with summoning the mount/gargoyle/troll. Issues similar to the werewolf problems (weapons still on hip, etc). I still notice, in my games, that I fall through stair cases sometimes. So, probably some of those. :lightbulb:

Basically, do as many quests as possible. Not just new quests, but other quests too. Bethesda not only wants to make sure that the dlc works properly, but they also want to make sure it doesn't break pre-existing quests in the process.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. I'll look out for that kind of stuff if I'm in.

Although I doubt I'll get in XD I haven't done much to deserve it so far anyway. Luck doesn't like me much anyway =P

While I do wish you luck, I think you should try to keep what you say on-topic. This is about the Beta for Dawnguard. And no, kissing up to Bethesda won't help (if that's what you're doing)

Im merely reminissing( sorry i spelled it wrong). Anyways, i doubt they read our posts. They must be busy. But yes, on hand i believe we should look for any texturing issues. Like ghosts having human apperance due to coding malfunction, something i continue to run into. Or broken quests...
