Dawnguard - No more Stage 4 Vampirism attack from Townpeople

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 9:32 am

I have been hearing around that vampires no longer will get attacked by angry villagers if they reach the "blood-starved" stage. And only the Vampire Lord will incur the wrath of the people. Where is this confirmed?

I read about it on some gaming/news sources and wikis but I don't know if it has been confirmed or not. I would wait a couple more days or week for more (if any) information to come to light on the subject of vampires in Dawnguard.

This makes me sad if this is true. I really enjoyed having to watch my level of blood-starvation, and it added more difficulty if I ever forgot and slept inside a town only to wake up to 30 angry NPC's all crying "BURN THE VAMPIRE!!!1!"
Maybe someone would be kind enough to mod it back in...?

There is no reason to even remove the stage 4 blood-starved state. We have three different methods of feeding now. Blood bottles and regular feeding on non-slumbering people. When the message pops up saying you are blood-starved, just sneak and drink the blood from the bottle(which is confirmed to count as feedings) or bite a unnamed NPC farmer or bandit. Why even remove this?

I looked around for a confirmation but I never found one.

Uh... No. But, it was in one of the E3 interviews. And I would find it, but that would take forever.

We know regular vamps are getting an overhaul, perhaps once dawnguard is launched your vampiric powers will grow weaker without blood instead of stronger. It may also be linked to becoming a vampire lord. Your non-demonic form will always blend in.

FACT: In Daggerfall all nine clans clould blend into society if you didn't feed on blood you were penalized with an inability to rest or wait. Morrowind broke lore by having vampires be outcasts who couldn't walk among normal humans. Consider skyrim to be restoring vampires to the original established lore before Morrowind broke it.

I don't know if I am that upset about this. Maybe they found a better way to hide it. Where a hood put some concealer or something on to hide the paleness. Or just create the illusion of a normal person. Vampires are supposed to be strong in illusion so how hard would it be to fool a bunch of villagers.

You again?

No, Morrowind did not break lore at all. They added new vampires. In Skyrim, we already had vampires they way that they are, now this overhaul will completely change the vampires we have. I know, it' Bethesda's game and they can do what they want with it. But it seems we have no penalties now.

I would like to know if this is true as well because if it is it makes being a Cyrodiilic vampire pointless, and everyone would just stay at level 4 vampirism. I hope they do not remove it, but if they do they should make it like Oblivion where people won't talk to you.

Bonus is lackluster? You can turn invisible. Add that to the shadow stone power... plus your other attacks and abilities get decent boosts as well. I love the Stage 4 Vampire state, and I only feed when I need to go into a town.
