We demand dwemer, not ruins, but the beardy disappearing tri

Well, I must say the ruins are so elaborate, that I sometimes FEEL that the dwemer are still alive.

This. God how I love the dwemer ruins, the best part of the whole game if you ask me.

That's also what makes the dwemer ruins extra mysticious.

That wasn't developer confirmed, it was just a fan-theory (forum scholars).

Not true.
After Morrowind dev's said on the forum the Dwemer were absorbed into Numidium.

hahahaha..guess you fail to see humour when its right in front of you.

they vanished is not the same as gone for good and what lore exactly would it break, and they will do what they feel is right for the game and makes them the ker-ching

What is this "we" bullsheezy?

Yeah, they could come down in their spaceships and then we could call TES6: The Burning Crusade.

Lol people are still made about that? Besides, even though I disagree that dwemer should come back, I think high technology has always had a place in the elder scrolls since the dwemer were introduced in daggerfall I believe. That being said, the dwemer technology should never become something understood or widely used by the masses. I believe this applies even moreso in Warcraft which is why I wasn't against the draenei, but we can hop on the WoW forums if we want to argue about that haha.

i would love for ghosts and maybe yargram to make a cameo, but i dont think you get the point of the dwemer. they are historical artifacts, something that is gone and we will never know more about because there is no evidence left. keeping them mysterious allows you to do so much more with the ruins and dwemer-related stuff than if you knew exactly what they were, what they could make, and how exactly they made it.

its like damascus steel. the only reason it seems so cool and is such an interesting subject is because we dont know how it was made.

The Dwemer are a mystery, like socks.

And if they were going to come back they better get an entire game or expansion pack to themselves, not some DLC.

they dont all have to reappear a few could return to confirm they all got seperated in some far away plane and they are trying to return home, so they make a flying visit before going away again to look for kagec, knowing they exist somewhere else gives them a different mystic and a twist to boot....you can choose to help them return to yonder or not....

That would be better IF it didn't break the established lore, and we're still arguing over whether it does or not. Also, you should keep in mind what I said about their culture. If some of them did "come back" it likely wouldn't be a happy or good thing. Like I said, the Dwemer were on a totally different wavelength than us, their minds were just...different. The only thing scholars have figured out is that they were "by our standards, a VERY unlikable people".'Interpret that however you will, but it likely means the dwemer weren't what most men and mer consider to be "good guys".

guess you did not want the dragons in skyrim? (less mysterious but along the same lines)

I think you're misinterpreting his comment. I don't think he was trying to be rude, he was just trying to explain something. It's ok if you don't agree, but let's not start arguing with each other.

Sorry, Dwemer are gone, forever.
There are no secret city's.
No hidden Dwemer.

Nothing! Gone! All of them!

Dragons were all dead at one point too...

This was after Morrowind mind, about a decade ago.
The quote itself got buried under several forum changes and purges.
There are still people on this forum however who have that quote, and you can always go ask on the lore forum.
I doubt they mind, they explain these things about once a month.

You can also do some digging on the Imperial Library yourself.

The Dwemer aren't "dead". They're gone. Likely absorbed into the brass god, or transported to another plane of existance. The point isn't where they went, because Bethesda can always brew up a way to brong them back. The point is the role they play in the mythos of this story: mysterious, unknowable artifacts of the past, with knowledge of science and the universe that may be lost forever.

Im not talking about any scholar's guild article.
Im talking about actual developers posting on this actual forum (well, a previous iteration) what actually happened to the Dwemer, namely they were absorbed into Numidium.

Edit: Here is the actual quote:
"
MK, on 20 June 2006 - 05:54 AM, said:
"Kagrenac was devoted to his people, and the Dwarves, despite what you may have read, were a pious lot-he would not have sacrificed so many of their golden souls to create Anumidum's metal body if it were all in the name of grand theater. Kagrenac had even built the tools needed to construct a Mantella, the Crux of Transcendence."

Okay. So now everyone can stop posting about where the Dwarves went. I TOLD YOU EIGHTY YEARS AGO.

Filthy with it, I am."

well i guess it wouldn't have to break lore, the could come up with some way for them to come back, but the point is the game had lore and bethesda strictly follow it, and some people don't realize this and are always begging for things that wouldn't make sense with the lore.

im merely explaining why the developers made the dwemer a mystery and why they havent put them in any game directly. generally the point of mysteries is to be mysterious, wouldnt you agree? im not saying you dont have a valid reason for wanting to see them, im saying the devs have a valid reason for not letting you see them.

the whole appeal of a dwemer ruin is that it is otherworldly and alien, a level of technology beyond tamriels understanding and ours. by keeping the nature and source of that technology a secret, beth can make any kind of numidiums and electro lizards they want. every time you see something new or see some strange structure to gears and pipes and whatever, it tickles your brain and makes you wonder how they did that and what its for. revealing the dwemer and their secrets would alter the entire atmosphere of a ruin to a generic steampunk land.

dragons were not in past TES games because beth couldnt implement them properly, not because theyre was any intended mystery to them. they are big flying lizards that are tied to akatosh and alduin. thats it. they arent meant to be mysterious, they are meant to be epic and intimidating, which couldnt be adequately done in past games.

I dunno, for me I find it hard to believe an entire race just up and vanishes without a trace,

IMO, I think the Dwemer did not want to fight the Falmer anymore, some left to hide out while others did some voodoo. I think some Dwemer are out in Tamerial some where, but since people beleive they are gone for good, no one is looking for them.

Just because a race is claimed to be gone, doesn't mean they are. Its the world of fantasy and anything can change. I for one would love to see them return. Another race to play, more story lines can open up.
