Future DLC Suggestions #8

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 6:09 pm

How about this for a new DLC... You travail to a town or city that is in dire straits. the people here need a leader a protector. Just as it was in Fallout 3 the capital wasteland DC area. For example. There could be lets say factions or tribes within this city or town. Your task or quest would be to convince them to pull together and be prepared to fight the invasion or evil that is coming...But before this can happen. You would need to prove to them that you here to help and not to take...and There could be undiscovered locations or areas within this city or town. That my have technology that will help in the fight....weapons,ammo,power armor,medicine. Of course this wouldn't be easy.There would be new enemy's or old ones from before....

What if I kill everyone in town, or what if I don't want to protect them?
Need more options man, and 'holier than thou guardian of the innocent'-hero quests are just boring.
So you need more gray morality and more options.

Guess this counts as a DLC quest pack but repeatable quests what can hold some conseqences, like caravan guard and have to take it to the Mojave outpost without fast travel but on the way get ambushed by possible leigion and power ganger. So kill the attackers losing respect with the factions but gaining with NCR, or do reverse take up with the power gangers and wait and attack a carvan going to the outpost.

Legion Deal with a few possible bandits planing on stirking there traders, spie orders to steal plans from important NCR, BOS etc... locations.
Mojave express courier work
Followers could be going places to heal people with right medical skill or find plans for experimental drugs what could help them.
Repeatable dept collectors or pimping quests.
Good Springs could be harvesting Big horn meat and gecko hunting with the odd power ganger ward off
This can really make NV feel more alive and build a proper role-play

PL and MZ was announced after O:A Pitt and BS so there might be more announced.
Even so they can still use ideas from us here for their DLC's.

If sales are good, they will probably release more DLC after Lonesome road.

Plus I'm not talking about adding new place I want reasons to go to the old ones. And fix questions I have. Like what do the boomers use for fuel to fly the bomber or why can't my brotherhood reputation be above liked.

boomers use bio-fuels.

I know I've said this before but we REALLY need:

* Tribal Merchant
Survival ingredients. (Cave Fungus and Pinyon Nuts..)
Lots of throwing weapons. (6+ at minimum.)

* Energy Weapons Merchant
What if I kill Van Graffs? There is a quest tied to killing them, there should be a third reliable source for EW other than Van Graffs and BOS. (Guns characters get Gun Runners, who's vendor cannot be killed since it's behind plexiglass...)

* Clothings Merchant
One who sells just about any kinds of clothing articles so that we don't have to kill citizens just to get the clothing we want.

* Explosives Merchant
One who deals exclusively in explosive weapons only, who sells all one time usables in 6+ quantities.

* DLC Weapons Merchant
Do I REALLY have to go through entire Dead Money to get the Holorifle?
I know it might not make sense for the merchant to have certain items but just tag him as uncanon and be done with it.
Is it laziness?
No, it's not.
I've just done Dead Money 4 times already and if I create a new character and want the Throwing Knife Spears then I don't want to go through the entire DLC and collect them exclusively just so I can use them.
DM isn't boring, don't get me wrong on that, it's not, but maybe I'm just not in the mood to spend 6 hours in the DLC just so I can get one of the weapons which I'm interested in trying out with my new character...
So this merchant sells any DLC weapons (except unique weapons (Not like Holorifle but more like Man Opener from The Pitt.)) from any of the DLC's that we have.
So if we have Dead Money and the DLC where this merchant is in then we can buy those two DLC's' weapons from him but cannot buy the other DLC's' weapons from him until we've bought them too.

Please add them in one of the DLC's to the main game...

And why the throwing weapons, EW and Explosives merchant?
Cause Guns get an exclusive merchant for their combat skill who sells all kinds of Guns weapons, mods, special ammo and crafting materials while the rest have either unreliable sources or sources that one must kill in certain quests.
Why should Guns get a specific merchant while not the others?
Hell, that vendor can't even be killed! Guns characters can always rely on being able to buy their kinds of weapons and other items from him.
It's only fair for the others to have a merchant of their own too.
As I said, EW have Van Graffs and BOS, but both are tied to quests where one must kill them, if one wishes to follow through on these quests then we need a third alternative that is not tied to any quest and hell, might even be unkillable like the Guns merchant who's inside his little booth.

I really want a energy weapons vendor. Energy weapons are my favorite class and I killed the van graffs when I was around level 9. So I have regretted it ever since. You wouldn't believe how long it took just to find parts to mod my laser rifle without a energy weapons vendor

I know what you mean. Dead Money is fun, but it's not exactly a game you want to play over and over again, especially if you want to get one simple item like a mod or the Automatic Rifle. Dead Money wasn't short unlike Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, and Mothership Zeta. Those latter three dlc's took what 2-4 hours to complete if you were just doing a simple run-through. Dead Money takes at least 5-6 hours just to complete the game and 8 if you want find everything. That's obviously not a bad thing, but since you can't return to the Sierra Madre Casino, it's a major inconvenience to players who forgot an item at the casino. Thus, they should add a special weapon's dealer in the Mojave who just sells weapons and other items from the DLC's that you have download. Great Idea!

Again, seriously, add a [clothings merchant] to Goodsprings that has every piece of regular clothing in the game, hell, even first tier faction armors.
Cause if I want to roleplay as a certain person then it's a pain to have to play until Vegas until I can get the kind of clothing I want.
So please add one there so we can get the kind of clothing we want for roleplaying purposes.
