Future DLC Suggestions #8

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:58 am

Don't forget, that would take an unconscionable amount of fuel to get an outsider to another continent and get back.

That's what I meant by "and what?" They would just crash into the Atlantic right?

Well, no. Either, they would have other contacts abroad, with fuel waiting (unlikely), would be going to ALSO make Boomer Colonies (More likely, since those colonies could eventually make the fuel... (but still highly unlikely)), or they'd tell you to [censored] off, and you'd just have to find either another way to get there, or another way to power the aircraft (Most likely option).

It would be really cool if a fully customizable weapon was added. This would entice different types of bolts, stocks, receivers, and to appease COD fans, camouflage as well. Ammo selection would aslo be pretty cool (incendiary, poison, ice, etc.). That way, there would be a sort of personal gun with the player's touch. It would also take the whole weapon mods thing to a new level.

I had an idea for a traveling salesman who goes around selling stuff in his hot air balloon. Courier meets him, they fly to x place, have lots of adventures, some twists and turns, Courier gets dropped back in the Mojave and never sees the man or x place again. :D

If they were making a DLC set abroad, say as far across as Europe as some people are thinking. Instead of Boomers, trains, boats, and for some strange reason - rockets, why not enlist the help of a private vertibird contractor or someone with a working aircraft willing to transport "tourists" to various destinations, for a price of course.
To me it seems to make more sense than any of the above suggestions, and I am stumped on how the hell you would get back if it were a rocket, nevermind landing the damn thing safely and making sure it doesn't crash into a huge radioactive puddle of some sort. And this way, everyone gets to access the DLC.

But I still think a DLC set abroad is unrealistic and too far-fetched. Across the different states of America maybe...but not abroad, unless it were a seperate game.

It'd be nice if you could work in http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Kurisu as a companion in one of the DLC's. (And that we can bring her back to the Mojave with us.)

Another thing, its been mentioned previously IIRC - gladiatorial combat for a Legion expansion DLC, I just had an idea. Since the legion uses football gear for their armour, why not use a large football stadium as a colosseum, adorned with legion banners and a special throne for Caesar himself.

2. And how is the player character suppose to be able to drive a rocket?
I mean, if I were to sit down in a rocket cockpit I'd be able to drive it. :disguise: (not)
And what if I sent all three rockets away?

It's too far fetched for me.

Did the chimpanzees and dogs PILOT the early rockets? Themz must have been some pretty fancy aminals. The process is automated.

OR OR OR!-

The player can upload instructions to his pip boy or upload a program that allows the pip boy to pilot the ship itself. Or the pip boy may alrady have that capability... Read up on vault tek and the vaults and decide for yourself if it's impossilbe or very very possible.

They use nuclear power in the fallout universe. A rocket would not run out of such fuel just going up to the lower atmosphere. Scientists are now theorizing that fission or fusion to allow us to achieve near lightspeed and interplanetary flight in the next few centuries.

Seeing as how a lot of the ideas from New Vegas have been sourced from the events of Van Buren (with some obvious and well-done changes) I'd just like Obsidian to keep expanding on the world. I don't necessarily think that FO needs to leave the USA though, because there's so much more of it that can be shown. Obviously a deeper look at the tribals would be great. I like the parallels between Native Americans and the Tribals of the Mojave (and beyond) so tit would be great to expand on that.

Honestly though, it's not necessary to expand on it all at once. If Obsidian and Bethesda will be alternating Fallout titles then they'll probably focus on respective coasts so I have no doubt we'll see more of everything anyway.

Since after completing DM you can get an extra perk for Veronica, i like this to happen for other companions after the completion of future DLC (but probably Obsidian already took this into consideration)

This. I'm hoping future DLC's will add extra dialogue to other companions the way Dead Money expanded on Veronica.

A fix to somthing I find annoying. My character has the four-eyed trait. I have to have glasses to have full perception. As a side effect or consequence of this my character can't were helmets, such as Advanced Combat Armour MKII or T-51b and Remnant PA helmet without taking the hit to perception. So it would be nice to be able to have glasses and being able to wear PA helmet without the perception loss.

Then you shouldn't have taken the trait, simple as.
Thats what they are supposed to do, give you a bonus with certain criteria which must be met to gain that bonus but have a consequence for not meeting that criteria.
Don't get confused with Perks and Traits

I'd love a stealthy DLC, since the stealth in NV is so good, but you hardly get to use it! :brokencomputer:

I know its been beaten to death but the only DLC I would want is a broken steel type to make it truly open ended without the inconvenience of having to reload saves. ( especially for us chronic savers who have 4-500 saves)

It's a small thing and I'm sure it's already been done in mods (360 user here so it's moot.) but I'd like a DLC with a very, very harsh weather environment. Sand storms and possibly even tornadoes. They can happen at anytime of the day or night and makes traversing outside more dangerous/risky. Because of the sand storm going on you would get lowered perception as well so enemy surprise attacks could happen. You could reverse the effect by wearing certain helmets (like the ranger helmet or power armor helmets) but otherwise you would be at a disadvantage on a visual level as well as not being able to spot enemies on the compass at the range you usually do. Maybe make the normal human enemies also wear clothing that would also mask them well in the sand storm. But they too would also be at a disadvantage in terms of perception unless wearing certain helmets as described.

I dunno, I'd just like the feeling of "oh man a nasty storm is coming up, better find shelter and duck out the storm until it clears up."

I get consequnces of my actions, planning ahead. I just feel it shoudl be possible to wear glasses inside a power armour helmet. I also don't see why I can't have them on as well as a rebreather. Or under the face protector of Avanced Combat armour.

I doubt the united states military would go "you have to wear glasses, so you can't have a helmet for your power armour."

I'd have to agree here also. Tbh looking at the combat helmets and PA helmets's they have inbuilt visors/eyewear.. They should activate the trait themselves without the need for added eyewear underneath.
