She seems to think so. Idk, she can explain her reasoning. For now, she's still sleeping. ~_~

It'll be interesting to see what she says and it'll be cool to have her here explaining how she interprets the game.

Also I find it fascinating that she claims the dragons are the rightful owners of Skyrim, wouldn't that be the elves?

I thought they were there before the dragons. *scratches head*

My mother has a similar issue, but not quite to the fanatical extent.

I love dragons, too. But these aren't the "nice" ones. They don't have underground cities built or a civilization to call their own. Alduin wants to end the world.

Have you told your friend that, yet?

I may have misunderstood, I don't know. I do know that she thinks the killing of dragons isn't justified. Which is strange to me, considering dragons attack villages and kill innocents without any real reason.

To each his/her own.
Personally if she doesn't want to kill any dragons then she is better off NOT doing the MQ because its the MQ that triggers random dragon spawns. Idc how fast you run an Ancient dragon at high levels when it sees you and if it wants to kill you WILL chase you to hell and back and I highly doubt most cities at later lvls are equipped to kill them. Ive seen a single Ancient dragon decimate an entire city by itself killing quest essential NPCs and wiping out valuable merchants and caravans so if she is adamant about not killing them she shouldn't touch the MQ at all. Kill that first dragon will start up the spawn system and lead her to being forced to kill many more.

That being said not killing dragons will significantly detract from a person's game experience in skyrim because:
1. Dragon Bones and Scales serve as essential beginning economy for most players to afford paying for their beginner weapons, armor, spells etc.
2. No dead dragons = No dragon souls = No shouts and effectively removing an entire tree of amazing abilities.

umm..technically Mundus goes against what our dark father intended..along with everything on , in and part of it.. the world eater should be allowed to burn the world, devour all within.. so all may return to the dark father and be as it should. So, by our very existence we offend the void, men, mer dragons and everything between.on a lighter note, i do wish the dragons themselves were a joinable faction.. it would have been interesting to see Alduin devour the world, enslave all once more.. with the player perhaps becoming a dragon priest along with chosen companions.. then laying seige or subterfuge to the holds to bring them under Alduins domain and power ..

That would be an entirely different game, then.

no..merely a choice.it does not have to be canon and such, merely a peek through the looking glass of what if.. like "servant of the Dawn" mod for oblivion..it was awesome.

She's wrong and it doesn't really matter, because she's going to continue to be stubborn and make up any excuse she wants to protect the dragons. Honestly, I think it's total nonsense. I like cats, but if a group of house cats started going around destroying the world, I'd bash their skulls in just as quickly as anything else.

To humor her idea that dragons are like native americans, if we were all like her, we would just stand idly by as native americans destroyed the entire world on purpose. What kind of morality is that?

But that's not the case. Sure, dragons were there first, but Mundus is not theirs. Mundus is the realm of mortals. They do not exist freely, they are tied to Alduin, the World-Eater.

But again, I'd say it's all futile. Just stubbornness. Shrug, shake your head, and move on.

if the game allowed such RP i would understand.. but with only 2 dragons who are sorta friendly towards the player i cant understand how one would avoid confrontations with dragons..remember it aint us swooping down on unsuspecting cows and farmers. DOes she realise the dragons are dead, but are being brought back by alduin to [censored] [censored] up for everyone? otherwise my only suggestion is for her character to retire to high hrothgar and sit and have tea and lozenges with the grey beards

Oh, remind her that when you beat the game;

Spoiler
Provided you don't kill the main "friendly" dragon, he'll spend the rest of his life convincing the surviving dragons a more peaceful way of life. Y'know, allegedly.

Nice touch~

Yesh~ The Dragons are just waking up. Confused. They doubt Alduin's rule -- Who wouldn't? Despite being the firstborn he is quite the little hatchling~

he does come across as rather juvenile, Dagoth Ur was much more pleasant to converse with at least untill you hit the right resonance :P.. back to dragons.. even good ol' Paarthy says he aint even sure IF he will behave..so between civil unrest, dragons, necromancers renegade mages zealots aging orcs the thalmor and dainty thieves insisting on trying to mug someone armed to the teeth.. Im just happy to make it home at night after a long day running around looking for books, never mind contemplating if i should stop and play fetch with a dragon with me as the stick. i say they should surprise everyone with the return of the dwemer who reappear an eat everyone!!

i would say expansion or dlc, but i dont think the current build will /can do the fabled dwemer justice. And the way the series has been going, perhaps one last TES is best.and NO!!!! to anyone thinkin i have daggerfall/arena/morrowind/oblivion/skyrim/nostalgic goggles on.. the core of the series seems to be waning, no matter what we all say we know its true. Rather go out with a bang than anymore watered down action RPGs..aww hell, now i've become all maudlin :P..* goes and stands in the corner and tosses an old pair of 20d die :(

You know, my Imperial ended up killing Paarthurnax because he respected the Blades and what they stood for. My character didn't like the fact, but he did it with a heavy heart. When I relayed the news to her she genuinely was upset with me.
I was upset with myself after that, especially since Paarthurnax basically just sat there and let me kill him. I debated going back and saying screw the blades for a long time. On topic though, you should probably show her/explain to her the whole evil dragon empire thing, way back when humanity had to rebel against them for their freedom. Humanity didn't invade, they broke free from tyrannical overlords.

Hi guys, the infuriating friend here. I'll make it real simple- the reason I don't kill dragons, is because I like the dragons better than I like Ulfric and much more than I like the Empire and the Blades. I'm the head of the Thieves Guild, and I'm happily playing 100ish hours in without a single draconic kill.

Frankly I don't kill anyone but Thalmor, and that's because the Thalmor are jerks. That being said I'll happily shoot an Imperial or two from outside the walls of a fort or if I find a patrol because they tried to cut my head off.

Likely because you support Dragons.

I want you to stand before the mortals living under the dragon's rule of old, look them in the eyes, and utter the following words;

''Poor dragons!''

Tiber Septim didn't drive them out -- they where gone long before his arrival.

It's natural progression. It would be like saying Dinosaurs "own" the world. They're dead, they died, obviously not 'strong' enough to survive.
So "rightfully" own Skyrim? No. They ruled, they failed, they died. Humans took over, now they are failing and the Thalmor are being all Right Wing. >_>

Just say these Dragons are already dead and a disgrace to honourable Dragons such as Paarthurnax ^_^
Dinosaurs weren't 'strong' enough to survive?
I think that's kinda unfair as they had meteor apocalypse against them xD

I like this reasoning. fair enough if you just want to play a normal human.
