Consider yourself hunted.

Not really it will in fact be easier provided you get the drop on them.

warith, what are you gonna be when the game comes out? personally, i picture you as the only light that can pull of ninja status

The light will be effective for skilled players... or campers... but I hate campers so I will kill them with my face!

Good good. While I do gravitate to towards light operative as my modus operendi, I will play all sizes and classes. There is no way better way to learn to fight other classes and body types is understanding how they work.

Now let me break this down.

Why light? I have to say SMART simply blows my mind on a FPS. I am one of those people who take the time to run all around a map looking for places to hide and alternate routes. The speed and optimal use of SMART will give be options that aren't available to other body types. Having weaker weapons is only a minor concern, provided I can flank and get the drop on people it won't matter how big your gun is if you don't get the chance to fire it. So many people seem to think that they can always keep their back covered. No so easy because you usually expect the enemy to come from a certain direction, when they come from another most people aren't expecting it.

Why operative? It seems best for my sneaky style and has fantastic synergy with the light. Though most of my FPS career I have learned one thing, most of the time the rest of your team can't be trusted to do ANYTHING!! Operative gives you the opportunity to help your team without having to rely on them for all your support. Brink bribes people to work together so I am not really to worried about that. However I am not playing the operative cuz I want to single handily wipe the team. I have been capable of it before in other games but its not possible against a skilled team. The operative will allow me to disrupt the enemy and help my team at the same time. I can open alternate routes for my team, I can disguise as a downed enemy and sneak more easily behind enemy lines and provide intel on enemy positions and troop strength. Its nice have the info but it will be awesome, to relay it to your team and have them use to destroy the enemy team and win the game. That is the best. I can also backstab which I really hope is OHK.

The light operative is like a combination of the Scout and Spy, my two favor classes. (Engineer is a close second, I am a team player). The speed and maneverability of a Scout and the cunning of the Spy. As a spy I don't go around and attempt to backstab the first person I see. I like to sneak in and get a feel of the engineer positions and relay it so the Scouts won't try to run past a level 3 sentry. I sap undefended Engineer structures and take out value targets like medics. There is nothing better than a nice chain backstab or sapping the entire base then waltzing out with the intel and backstabbing a medic heavy combo on the way and then capture then smoke break.

Why Brink provides other classes easy ways to support each other the Operative is there to just mess up the enemy team which I excel in doing. Also I do like playing the Engineer and Medic in TF2. The problem for me when I am playing medic and everyone I heal is NOT DEFENDING ME! I am here to support you and you need to help me back.

what says that people need to be skilled to play lights :P having a bigger gun doesnt mean u need less skill to play the class. they are just ment to be played differently

I'll probably play with all body types, but I will certainly be a medic.

Supporting the team from behind, trying to keep them alive. When I'm a light medic I can move swiftly across the battlefield, gain overview from higher ground to spot my teammates and keep up with the other lights of my team to heal them.
Medium medic, no idea, I wonder about how this will work out.
Heavy medic, supporting the team on the frontlines without having to be concerned about taking damage.

If they are all playing against each other on one map lights will win simply because they can run from combat and then pop back up and drop both the heavy and medium when they are fighting each other, lights are like REAL assassins and ninjas, they lack attributes for frontal combat but can easily surprise and kill preoccupied enemies and then disappear.

Once the game comes out and someone simulates a bot v bot v bot match I think mediums would win, lights would win with players controlling them.

This only applies to those on the front lines. There are advantages to being a medium and even a heavy operative. You gotta play it a little differently however.

well, if this was a one on one fight with no terrain to climb over, a heavy would win, but in a game like brink, to win you accomplish objective instead of just killing people, so a light would win because they can get around faster and accomplish objectives quicker because of it

What if the objective is to escort? What if the lights are attacking and the heavies are defending somewhere like the reactor core in the video? One entrance, no flanks. And all they have to do is defend, not attack. Not, they are both on offensive and trying to blow each other up.

oh ok, so i was right when i said you where a ninja :D i personally will play the light/medium soldier (even though i will have a build for every class/body type) because the lights can get around to where they want to go. They may not be able to powerhouse the enemy when they get there, but they can perform tactical maneuvers like flanking with almost no difficulty, since they can get places and hide in spots no one else can.

from what ive heard the light have the best use of the strongest weapon, pistol knife, i heard that its a OHK or at least very close to it...but really its all about playing style. some people can fight off waves of enemies with a heavy where i can pretty much do nothin with a heavy but decimate with a light, if that makes sense

The knife will not be a OHK. Heavy slaughters in direct fights. Light excels in fights from vantage points or via the flanks. Mediums are well rounded. They can go into direct firefights or use vantage points and flanks. But not as well as the light and heavy do there part.

i dont know where you've heard from, but lights have the weakest weapons in terms of damage. The knife is a finishing move weapon, to come up from behind to kill someone who is wounded if i remember correctly. and everyone has access to the pistol, so it doesnt give the light an advantage at all. In fact, the only bad things about the light are its health and access to good/powerful weapons.

The knife is the most powerful standard melee attack. Everyone has access but only the lights by default use it.

i dont think so, if you're getting shot at as you approach, you will get hit, and the heavys can take more damage. Lights might be able to sneak up from behind,, but that doesnt mean that ONLY lights can sneak up on people.

I'm pretty sure I'll just back up and blow your face in.

If I can do that in MW2, were knives are OHK, and there is commando, I'm pretty sure I can do it in Brink.

Actually, the knife is the default melee attack with a pistol equipped. Every other weapon will use rifle-butt.

Everyone should know that by now. That's because lights must use pistols as secondary.
