Kill animations should happen for every kill

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:11 pm

I use the Advanced Kill Moves mod, which lets me customize how often I want them to happen, along with other choices. I have mine set to 90% and it happens regardless if the NPC is last. I personally prefer it this way, as the vanilla frequency just wasn't enough for me.

I'd think that'd get annoying.
I agree ...

Ok maybe not all the time but we should be able to increase the frequency as long as it had no effect on stats.

I'd rather see them less. I think it would better if you only got the kill cam on boss level npc's. Do I really need to see a kill cam as I kill my 5000th wolf? It would be great in the Creation Kit if there was a checkbox for NPC's to be eligible for kill cam for modders..but for vanilla game, boss level NPC's only please.

Please no. I am getting sick and tiered of getting a kill cam every time I kill a wolf.

I would like if they added more animations but not if animations happened more frequently. I think there should be an animation that lets you throw people somewhere (like off of a cliff or into a wall)

I like kill moves and use a mod to get them to occur more frequently, but I disagree that others should be forced into it. As some have already stated it can be annoying to people. I think an option for it to be on and off and the amount of frequency would be better.

Agree with this. Everybody happier.

I set mine for 120 and in combat so I'm with you. Choice is the greatest thing.

I would much prefer the kill animations to not take over the camera.

How about a slide bar to control the frequency?

I would like them to play every time I kill a dragon. Anything else though, it'd be a bit crap.

This wouldn't work for greatswords seeing as they have only two kill animations for most enemy types.

I highly disagree. I've platter hundreds of hours worth of Skyrim, and I still love seeing the killcams every single time. I'm still as amazed by the game as a whole as I was in November 2011, too.

Some people love kill-cams, some people find them to be a pain in the butt. This is exactly why kill-cams should be either optional or have an adjustable frequency.

BTW, I've been playing since November too and still play every day.

PS, I did play Kingdoms of Amalur for a while but, soon got bored with it and came back to Skyrim.

more frequent wouldn't be bad, but all the time would just get tedious

I once hit 4 kill cams in a row, 4 bandits.
Ran up to the first power attack = decapitation
Second runs up to me power attack = decapitation
I run up to the third power attack = impaled them
Ran up to the last one power attack = decapitation

I thought it was funny, but really got tired of kill cams about that time. But animation wise, I think there should be an animation every time something gets killed I just think it is unfortunate it's a random movie kill camera instead of actual game play control/combo activated.

Simple kill animations like a thrust in the stomach or a slash across the chest.
Agreed. The simple kills should always occur and don't take more time than a normal hit, the vanilla extended animations should still randomly pop up, but there should be a slider in the options menu.

I wouldn't mind if there were more kill cams, but not for every kill. I think it'd be sweet if they played for the last survivor of a pack.

Ah, yes. The famous "Tennessee Fainting Goats" effect. That one drives me crazy.
