Kill animations should happen for every kill

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 6:51 am

No way, it already happens too much and doing so everything would just be so annoying. There should just be an option to tweak how often it happens.

How would it help with immersion anyways? Your taken out of 1st person in almost all of them ffs..

I would prefer to have a perk that you can toggle on and off, call it : Skylander- 100% chance to decapitate boss class enemies on death. Thats as far as Id like it to go though.

There isn't a mod to turn them off completely?

This file: "NoKillCam.esp" does the job, no ranged kill-cams at all. I think it came from Skyrim Nexus but, I'm not certain about that, got it a long time ago.

Found the file: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13396

Firstly: how does supporting multiplayer in a video game, or enjoying first-person-shooters make you comparable to a '12 year old with ADHD'? :/ what an incredibly elitist and totally false opinion.

Secondly: I like the 'randomness' of them - I think it's what keeps them fresh and interesting. Making them happen every time you kill someone/something would ruin the effect.
I'd say that'd harm immersion - you'd constantly be pulled out of combat and thrown back into it. The way they work currently, they only activate at the end of a fight, making (IMO) the fight that bit more immersive.

After playing Skyrim for many months "fresh" they are not!

I highly disagree. I've platter hundreds of hours worth of Skyrim, and I still love seeing the killcams every single time. I'm still as amazed by the game as a whole as I was in November 2011, too.

+1

If you see the 3 polls linked in my signature you'll see there is a 7:1 vote in favour of a kill cam toggle.

I would http://deedtheinky.com/comics/2008-12-29-baby_punch.jpg if they increased the ratio at which they occurred. They are nice and all, but yeah.

No, it is nice to get them every now and then, but it'll be silly with every kill...

I love the kill cams, especially after more were added, but I do wish they would occur a little less frequently. It'd make them more satisfying. I think I'd go crazy if they happened every single time.

Count me in the "No Way" crowd. I'm also a fully signed up member of the the "Make Kill Cam Shots Toggleable" group as well. I can tolerate them at the level they are now, but no more. I bought an RPG (yes it is, shut up) not a ****ing hack'n'slash.

Not many things tend to be as fresh as day 1 after months of use.

+1 here!
Dragon killcams are VERY rare, at least for me. I'd love to see more of them!

I think there would be some pretty unreal consequences beyond just the annoyance of having a kill-cam for every kill. Namely, you'd get kill-cammed far more often. I think everyone has had a moment where, despite potions, blocking, maneuver-possibilities you find yourself frozen in place waiting for the GD Bandit's Warhammer to splat your skull while you mash the keyboard in frustration.

Secondly, there is still glitches with the ranged kill cams, especially with magic (I think I wiffed 8 to 10 times trying to kill a Falmer from a distance with a flamebolt spell). The cams do something to the trajectory of certain spells/arrows and wiffing happens far too often. At least now you have a chance to stop having the ill cam (though, I seemed to be stuck in a rut for that admittedly rare, but annoying occurance).

But even if they fixed all that, I don't think I could deal with it for every single kill. I don't mind looking like a super-badass every now and then, but seriously, I don't need to be reminded every five seconds.

I'd prefer the ability to toggle them on, off, semi, etc.

If there was an animation for every kill I'd lose my shizz.
As well as all the other issues I have with the idea, it would take the enjoyment out of the odd spectacular kill-cam moment.

I'm all for the following, in order of preference (choose the FIRST one that you like):

- user control over killcam frequency (so I can go to "OFF", and the OP can play with 100% killcams and discover that it IS annoying.
- Barring that, removing killcams entirely (because if you're not going to let me play nice with others, then I want it my way)
- go the Kingdoms of Amalur route, and let the user have some control over when they trigger them.
- fix the triggering logic so that it only triggers when there are no enemies in the vicinity that are aware of the player. (A la Arkham *)

I think that'd be cool and increase immersion. of course there'd be some pretty simple ones for the normal kills and then the ones we have now for the final kills.
I think there should be a frequency option, not "everyone is forced to watch a kill-cam after every kill".

Static animations by their very nature grow stale to the human imagination's ever demanding need for change and fresh stimulus.

Now who is a "COD ADHD riddled really devoted fan"? ; )

I've seen plenty of kill cams many times and they still don't bother me.

I'm a mindless zombie who enjoys the continual dumbing down of the series from a great RPG into an action adventure twitch fest and play COD.

Now tell me something I don't know.

Nothing that went into slo mo or cinematic just maybe a simple slash or stab. Anyway you say that it'd get boring and repetitive well I can tell you right now it'd be less repetitive then watching your weapon just hack and then the enemy body flies back.

I don't think every kill needs a kill cam, especially if my character is surrounded. I think they are best as an occasional occurence, as they'd quickly get old for me if I saw kill animations with every single kill.

It would end up being like Assassin's Creed counter-kill animations. You'd see the same one several times and would ruin it's specialty. So, no.

Have you even played FO3? If you use Vats for every kill then it takes so long for the animation to end that your enemies get extra shots in on you while you stand there frozen. Same as Skyrim and eventually it will drive you insane since it is anti-immersive considering that yu are not in control and it is not in real time. I do however believe that everytime you kill the LAST enemy around you that should trigger a Killcam which is slightly more than what it does now
