Kill animations should happen for every kill

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 3:51 am

I agree with the others: it would get very annoying very fast for me. One of the things I like about the kill cams is that I never quite know when they're going to happen. I love that feeling of surprise when it happens.

If it would make the combat (at least of melee weapons) less awkward and have more variety of kill moves I wouldn't mind. I picture it like Assassin's creed Brotherhood combat (only in first person) where at least in my opinion was very fluent. However it would become tiring after awhile

Maybe not every kill but certainly much more often. Every surprise or sneak hit that does enough damage to kill the target should go into kill cam.

I think that'd be cool and increase immersion. of course there'd be some pretty simple ones for the normal kills and then the ones we have now for the final kills.

It would bet annoying quickly so no.

Why do I get the feeling Bethseda will read this idea and implement it anyway?

With my sneak-thief i did increase the occurence to 100%, as she mostly sneak attacks and snipes. It wasn't literally 100%, and it worked with that playstyle. For my warrior i left it at default, and with my mage i have them off completely.

The argument that it'd get boring is pointless because what I'm suggesting will take away the boredom from hacking and slashing then watching the enemies body just rag doll. THAT, is whats boring. And its not going to take away from other kill cams as these ones would be much less complex and very simple that would only take a few seconds whereas the current ones could be saved for the last kill or something and would be much more complex then the ones I'm suggesting. Also if you found it annoying then you could simply turn it off if they implemented an option to which I think they should.

I disagree, that would get rather annoying after a while. Not every kill is that spectacular, so they shouldn't be over-glorified. That's just my opinion of course, but it's probably one that most would share. I think the amount of kill animations I get are just fine.

Killcams are already too frequent. Adding more, even simple ones, would make the game even worse.

Then you could turn them off if they implemented the option too. Some people find the current kill cams boring and too frequent I just happen to find the current hack 'n slash ragdoll kills boring and my kill cams not frequent enough. If they gave us an option then everybody wins.

killcams (sans toggle) should not be in at all, they are annoying, buggy and usually lackluster

you can use mods to get a 100% chance to killanimation.

but seriously patch it into the game? no. it will get insanely boring to see killanimations every time, for the most players.

QFT.

They are by far the worst thing about this game. BY FAR.

How long can one be entertained by seeing a wolf chokeslammed for the 300th time? Beth target market is the masses of unimaginative plebeian zombies.

Quite a bit, actually. I think killcams is one of the best things they've ever added to an elderscrolls game. But do I want it to happen EVERY time? no. just no. it'd be cool to be able to adjust how often it happens if at all though.

Really? Because I hardly get them. I need to usually bring an enemy back from the dead, just to get a kill cam

Same. So an option to adjust their occurrence isnt going to hurt anyone.

+1 here!
Dragon killcams are VERY rare, at least for me. I'd love to see more of them!

Since the 1.5 patch they're usually from the back of the dragon. Result your character is invisible and all you see is a dragon tail sort of waggling back and forth.

If they aren't slow-mo kill animations then sure, why not. I think that for boss type enemies we should get a kill move EVERY time though.

I would like them to occur only for "boss" monsters though. And perhaps for assassination attempts. Other than that, i don't need cutscenes when i kill a bunny.
