Kill animations should happen for every kill

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:41 am

I think that'd be cool and increase immersion. of course there'd be some pretty simple ones for the normal kills and then the ones we have now for the final kills.

Dance of dead mod has this option, and i use it. First person only for me.

I prefer the randomness of them. It keeps them fresh and gives me a feeling of gratification when they occur. If they happened every time I'd probably be one of the people screaming for a kill cam toggle.

I'm not even sure, I'd like this for a bit but it would get a bit boring seeing the same animations after a while, maybe if there was a lot of different ones.

Okay, as much as I believe the people who think kill-cams are immersion breaking and are in any way related to being a "cod really devoted fan", that WOULD be anoyying to have them go off
EVERY.
SINGLE.
KILL.

They are at the perfect frequency right now. They happen just enough to enhance the game without intruding on it.

I agree. I was skeptical before Skyrim released, but I like them the way they are now.

It would be too much. I like the way they pop up every once in a while. Makes 'em special.

For magic and archery, they aren't even special. You just see them do the same thing from a different point of view, and instead of being able to move and dodge attacks you get to watch your projectile fly.
And when I'm trying to sneak up from someone and shoot from around a corner, I don't want to watch a killcam of me shooting arrows that get stuck in the air over and over.
At least with melee it can go in real time and doesn't interrupt the flow of battle too much. Magic and archery are the worst.

That would get annoying very quickly... though I think it would be cool if the game gave you the option to increase the rate.

Only for ranged dragon kills maybe, but every other kill would be annoying, let alone every kill.

The last kill of each fight sounds better.

Worst idea ever... or carefully crafted pointless flame deleted. I can't decide.

Completely disagree. That would be like doing slowmo crashes when the AI wrecks in racing games for every single crash (*cough* newest NFS Most Wanted *cough*). It takes you out of the game, slows progress, and honestly would make me angry having to watch the same handful of animations every time I kill someone.

Oh my, that's an awful idea. There are too few of them to deal with that, you'd wind up seeing the same moves over and over. Not to mention it would slow combat down so much, no thank you.

What is this "get annoying"? They're already annoying. And dumb--about 1 time in 3 on the archery kill cam I haven't actually killed anything. The bloody boring animation starts up the arrow flies sloooooooooowly to the target and misses by a foot. Actually, annoying doesn't begin to describe the damn things.

Agreed! But simple quick animations and not slow ones would be a necessity. I've always wanted to leave a bloody, gory mess as a message to any other poor fool who stands in my way!

... Or the camera just wanders over to look at a rock. I want my pre 1.5 archery back. And don't get me started on the "Tennessee Fainting Goats" effect caused by the Bullseye perk. The only time that one amused me was when a bandit fainted on that Voltheim bridge and fell into the water.

Oh my god NO!

It's bad enough that you can't turn the damn things off if you don't want them. If they put a killcam on every kill, here's one customer Bethesda would lose instantly for any future game they wrote.

Yeah... no. The very fact you defend forced kill cams means you dont understand. Come back in 10 years and some life experience.
Heaven forbid people like different things then you. Ive been around here for 5 years, and I started TES with Morrowind. And guess what! I like Skyrim better! *GASP!* I don't mind the kill cams. *GASP!* Oh no! I have a different opinion then you! I am clearly stupid.

And for the record, I am not a fan of CoD. I hardly play any shooters at all.

Am I allowed to say your opinion svcks?

No, of course I don't actually mean that; just saying that bold statement to get your attention, because I DO have to ask....how the HELL can you possibly enjoy watching the same cinematic repeat itself over and over and over?
I mean that's not really "opinion" anymore....

Opinion to me is "Red is a better color than blue." What we're discussing in this thread is more like "red is the only color anything ever needs to be ever and the world would be better if everything in it was only the color red and never anything else." That's hella extreme. People ARE gonna oppose your opinion if you're gonna be that extreme about it, thus the opposition to OP's statement.

It would be a little unbalanced, I have a mod that has a chance for kill moves during fights and I noticed that I am completely immune to damage during the animation so.....it would make you overpowered if you were swarmed and it happened EVERY kill. Just keep it at the mod stage really.

No i actually prefer no kill animations at all, i wish there was a way to toggle them or a slider that makes them a 1% chance to occur

I agree whole-heartedly. I already use a "no ranged kill-cam" mod and would be more than happy to be able to reduce frequency of all kill-cams, or turn them off altogether.

There isn't a mod to turn them off completely?
