I think I may watch that again later to help me fall asleep. What a pointless episode.

Before Locke died, did Jack see his dead father off the island?

Before? Jack saw his dad in his apartment once at night whilst drunk and on pills, but I'm pretty sure he already knew Locke was dead.

The reason why I asked, how can it be the man in black be Jack's father if he can't get off the Island. I think he lied to Jack tonight when he said, yes I was your father.

He only said he was posing as Jack's father when he saw him on the island. When he saw him off the island it could have been hallucinations brought on by stress and his drug addiction and alcoholism.

Yeah, that's true. I don't think it was the man in black when he was seeing him in his apartment either. Probably a drug related hallucination.

Wow, they are mocking with us in all possible dimensions.
Spoiler
svcker huh?
:P

I absolutely love this episode. They make it impossible to make our minds about Locke.

I have to mention that I would be on Locke's side. Hehe... Not saying he is evil or not. In my opinion he is a regular guy. I think he has his reasons that I can relate to.

PS. I love Locke.

This episode wasnt as good at the last, but I'm glad they finally confirmed that the MIB was posing as Jack's dad on the island.

Also, has anybody else noticed that the vegetation seem's to have changed from lush tropical vegetation to dead looking forrests since Jacob died or is that just me?

Yeah, I thought the episode was "meh"

Sun loses her voice only to get it back when she meets Jin? Touching, but did it really have a point? I'm just glad that they didn't do anything stupid with it, like, someone is sneaking up behind someone to kill them and she can't warn them because she can only speak Korean... the whole time they ran up to each other I was like, "are you sure they turned off the fences?????"

Desmond asking Sayid, "what will your woman say when she hears about this?" No matter how true it may be, it's been done hundreds of times before it seems, and they could have come up with something better.... on that note, I thought Sayid was going to shoot and all the bullets would go crazy from the electromagnetism.

Also, I was thinking that Jack might be paralyzed from that explosion. Would finally put him into the role of Locke.

Possibly, but I always thought the vegetation on that side of the island was a little barren. But I haven't seen the old episodes enough times to remember well

It seems that we are getting small hints/answers as the episodes go (first we find out about the whispers, now about Jack's father). Good stuff to know, for sure, but nothing real ground breaking, and nothing that people haven't been theorizing for, I dunno...... years. I'd like to see something new, I'd like to see something with a twist that can't by found in the ramblings of a 15 year old on an internet forum (not pointing to anyone here, I was about that age when the show started and if I turn out to be right on some big things............ yeah, disappoint)

Also, love the way everyone is coming together in the alternate universe.

And why aren't any of the characters asking, "why do we always have to show up TOGETHER???? We have to come back together, now we have to leave together....... Why can't you just get on a plane and fly away???? It ain't that hard....." That would be my number one question

I re-watched all the old episodes last week, it definately looks like they are filming certain scenes in a new location to me.

As for leaving together -- I simply assumed that Jacob's presence stopped MIB from leaving, and since each of these people are candidates for his replacement -- they could stop him leaving as long as they are on the island to do so, but If the MIB leaves with the candidates theres no one left on the island to replace Jacob and keep him there.

Jin is her constant is my guess. I'm thinking that a while back when she hit her head she became "unstuck in time," but she's not aware of it the way Desmond is. That's why on island Sun couldn't speak English because alt-timeline Sun can't. That's also why on the way into the hospital alt-timeline Sun was freaking out about seeing Locke. That's what I think, at least.

There was time line teleportation or what ever you want to call it, something thats more mysterious than the voice back. So getting the voice back to me was no big deal.

Not a bad episode, but not the greatest either. I'm almost starting to think Locke may actually be the good guy in the end. Not sure what lead to it, but I think Jacks jumping ship was a slight, possible hint? (Or the obvious, Jack will kill Locke.)

Only real bonus, I got to watch it HD for the first time! :hubbahubba: orgismic.

I, too, thought the episode was just ok. There were a lot of interesting things revealed to us, though.

That does make sense. But why did they all have to come back together? If they are all candidates, and only one of them showed up, wouldn't that make the one person who did come back the successor? Or does everyone else have to.... die?

Interesting thought, but I think it has more to do with her near death experience- she got shot, and as a result of that started getting flashes of her memory from the original timeline, and in the original timeline Locke is someone who is now causing problems, and that's why she was freaking out.

Not sure if discussed here.
Spoiler
Why didn't MiB as Locke kill Desmond? I know there are rules but as smokie he killed and even summoned by Ben to kill those who killed his Daughter. Can MiB kill only who sinned but he killed the pilot in the first or second episode of season 1.

Spoiler
Well first off, I don't buy for a second that Desmond is dead. Is he a candidate? It might be that he can't kill candidates directly, since he couldn't kill Jacob himself either. Even if he's not a candidate, there's obviously something special about him, since both Widmore and the MiB want him.

True and agree,
Spoiler
I didn't think about Desmond being a candidate or not. I think it's true candidates can be killed directly.

Spoiler
I had another thought about Desmond being special today. When he talked to Sayid, it seemed like he gave him back some of his humanity, and he showed a little bit of emotion when he talked to the man in black afterwards. Maybe Desmond can convert the hearts of others like the Man in Black does when he speaks. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that's what Lost is for!

I'm pretty sure that Desmond is going to play a crucial role in the saving of the island, or leaving, or whatever. Destroying the smoke monster.

So my TV guide says they're re-airing the Richard episode this week. I thought they were supposed to be showing new episodes all the way until the end?
