Lurker's Lair

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 9:10 pm

It feels weird posting here. I've lurked on this forum for so long, registered some time back to get the answer to some question, and these days find myself spiraling further and further into the sticky web that is the Bethesda Softworks forums...

And that Optics lab report still isn't going to write itself, no matter how many times I refresh the forums nor open the Morrowind CS =/

I'm in a bad mood bordering on down-right foul. >:( I can't find my watch, I can't find my handicap placard, and I can't find my school parking placard. I made absolutely no progress on an art project that's due next week, and I svck at using wires (which is what the project is all about), and I'm just so pissed off at everything right now. If I keep thinking about it, I'll just be miserable, so I'm trying not to focus on it. I want to see my therapist RIGHT NOW, but I have to wait 'til tomorrow afternoon.

EDIT: found my parking and handicap stuff, but I'm still in a black, foul mood.

EDIT2: I'm feeling better.

Gotten 2 A+s on my last two math tests, 3 As on my last 3 English papers, a B and an A on my last two Life Science tests, and a D and a C on my speeches.

Anyone see the problem? I just got back from class and I want to kick it, but Professor Uber[censored] from my speech class requires me to work my ass off to barely scraqe by in speech. Whatever, if i get anything less than a B on this one, I'm done trying.

Ah just finished part two and the last part of New York's English Regents today. I find it quite funny I didn't care to put a conclusion in the first Essay. Well I think I did well. Anyhow therapy day 1 tomorrow , then after than DMV so I can get info for permit and my mom wants me to get job applications. Ugh I can and can't wait for tomorrow. I think I have butterflies in my stomach.

Wheeeee-eeee! I feel all giddy as a gold miner! :P

I just received word that I am getting a new apartment. Practically a done deal aside from having to sign the papers, now. I feel so relieved. Since last autumn, I've been deprived the safety of a home, and the place I've inhabited till now has become a hellish prison I've wanted desperately out of. And now, all my blood sacrifices and menacing chanting has paid off. With lower rent, too. Of course, place is a bit off the central area, so I'll have to go further 'way for foodstuffs and such, but that's a small price to pay for sanity, methinks. And the place will possibly have less noise from overall traffic and most importantly, neighbours. I can't remember the last time I've been so...content. It's going to end soon, I know, but I'll be embarking on a new chapter of my life, with any luck, to a much more tolerable enviroment.

So much to do in the next month if all goes as planned. But it'll all be worth it, I think.

Wow, this month has just been one kick in the teeth after the other. The latest was my trip to every florist within a mile of my flat searching for roses to surprise my girlfriend with tomorrow. It bore an uncanny parallel to the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3KBuQHHKx0.

Finished Chem midterm . Thought I did pretty well, guess I'll have to see. My therapy went well yesterday as well. My therapist have a strong accent and sounds like she's from Germany. To the more important part of it we talked about for an hour and she got to know I wanted to be the other six. Anyhow I have an appointment with her next week I think.

We had a fire in the garage yesterday in the late evening. The old fake christmas tree caught fire from a spark (from a fire in the fireplace that burned out hours and hours earlier) that fell through the ever-so-slightly-ajar ashpit cover. Our fire alarms didn't go off at all until way after the firemen arrived (we called 911), so we need to get new ones; the alarm in my room (which is on the same floor as the garage) didn't even go off after all the other alarms went off. And we need to invest in a fire extinguisher. So, yeah, pretty scary stuff. It got really smokey in the house, even after my dad dragged the burning material out of the garage and to the outside. I took my dogs and myself out of the house and away from the smoke (had to bundle up, it was wicked cold), I didn't want them inhaling the smoke, it smelled so bad (burning plastic christmas tree).

No one is hurt, the house is okay (thought still a bit smelly). Scary event, though.

So, yeah, that's about as much excitement as I ever want to have for the year. We've never had an uncontrolled fire before, so this not-a-drill experience was new for me. I kept my cool, though... probably 'cause I knew the fire wasn't going to spread into the house.

Oh I've had fire accidents before. One time it was because my dad was using a frying pan on a BBQ grill to make pancakes. The frying pan of course, got some of the charcoal on it and the next day when we were using the pan to make meatballs the charcoal ignited. Some panicked, others, like me, tried to put it out through suffocation. It was successful.

The other time it was when the air in the chimney flowed back down, which made the fire in the fireplace to suffocate (or so we thought) and plumes of smoke rosed from the fireplace in to the house. We went to figure out why it was doing it so we opened the door to the fireplace and the wood (in the fireplace) was set ablaze again. It took some time, but we managed to stop it. Aftereffects included a smokey smell which stayed for two weeks and our once-so-white chimney now have a brownish/blackish discoloration.

In other news, today was the start of the exam week for the third term. Good ol' mathematical logic and number theory was first on the cram-till-death list. I was so expecting a really crunchy exam and it turned out to be a watery mush. I pretty much finished in less than 105 minutes. Now I just have to cram for the derivatives exam and a small bit of Finnish during the weekend, and hope to get some time over for video games and lurking. And hope that my parents can come to their senses and stop arguing with each other. Seriously, it's getting annoying to listen to them and it makes a bad study atmosphere.

The Magic: the Gathering prerelease is tomorrow and they say its going to snow in my area tonight. Luckily I will likely get a ride with the shop owner to the event.

I also beat The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the I don't know how many time. So nothing really going on, if you count out the snow. and even then it looks bad with possible power outages.

Edit: Link's Awakening has way too much text for it's own good :stare:

I dug this thread up because the mods finally put a stop to the fun. I really don't know what to do now. I think the mods are watching us :ninja:

anyway, on the topic the lair is meant to be for, I found out that we get the school laptops in about a month's time, they have decent spec's, so I'm looking forward to it. I have my flash games ready to go.

"It's the end of the thread, and we know it!(x3)
Time to say goodbye!

Stupid things,
I used to believe,
Secret ninjas in my leaves!
The world is flat,
The world is small,
I'd get cancer if I was tall!
Moscow isn't in the Slavic,
Then things really went off topic!

It's the end of the thread, and we know it!(x3)
Time to say goodbye!
"

Had to post it somewhere :P
