Mass Effect Thread #70

One thing i was reading from the supporters of the ending, was that because of the different colour of the explosion it was a controlled explosion thus it caused no damage except to the relay, my reply was where anywhere at all in game or in lore or any reply from the writers does it state that, we already have factual evidence in the lore of the game that relays exploding destroy systems, needless to say lots of assumptions, conjecture, and general, i what you are, so nah nah nah. So not a factual reply to support an error of judgement on their behalf, but i did think about the ending, so many second.

What most are speculating is the end was left with many Plot-Holes so EA can have another created and milk more money.
It does make allot of sense saying with all the Reaper tech they are able to create new Relays and vastly improve FTL Drives. This does not bug me. Wrex can go have-See his babies, Turians can go shake hands and make an Official truce.

Still I was hoping the game would have the option to sit back with Anderson and watch as the Reapers Battle the Victory Fleet. Hackett said they could not beat them conventionally but never has there been such a large fleet. “If you got everyone to join” I would except the fact that more would die fighting conventionally but on the upper side the Relays don’t get destroyed, Citadel stays afloat ext.

I’m actually still depressed on Andersons death. This video does an extension with you and Anderson together leaving out the GodChild. It’s a very sweet moment and I love how he talks about him never having kids and it’s not to late for Shepard. Enjoy!

Anderson was my favorite character in the series. I could go on forever on how he is. Anderson was the father Shepard never had. The son Anderson never had. Two friends, family who don't show it often love eachother as great friends. His personality about him, everything! Amazing voice actor also.

I don't mind Reaper Tech being used to rebuild the relays but if it's just so easy, why blow them up in the first place? The biggest problem for me currently in the ending is the endless wave of completely unnecessary cliffhangers and plot devices/holes that serve no other purpose than to troll and piss off people.

Just activate the Crucible, blow up the Reapers, live if you got enough score, and then a big big interspecies parade to conclude the trilogy. How [censored] hard is it, BW?

and then a big big interspecies parade to conclude the trilogy.

Or a big interspecies memorial/tribute/funeral service, if they wanted to emphasize the "war is hell"/sacrifice themes and/or thought the parade idea wasn't dark/gritty/"real" enough.

Lets just hope EA puts Bioware out of it's misery, polishing a turd is not exactly the best way to get fans back on side.I'm sick of their artistic integrity stand point, how on earth do they justify that when they do not have any sort of integrity themselves(Openly lying about decisions/ending,content pulling, woeful DLC policy). The lack of any sort of rapport from the Mass Effect development team in the Bioware forums just adds salt to the injury. It's a shame that the Mass Effect series has come to this.

I still think EA was the driving force behind all the problems; the lame excuse of "artistic integrity" is probably because they've signed non-disclosure agreements prohibiting them from saying that (presumably) EA sprang extra work on them at the last minute such as multiplayer, Jessica Chobot, day one DLC etc and the ending had to be rewritten as they simply didn't have time to do what they'd planned due to the already very tight schedule. Of course we'll probably never know unless a Bioware employee throws caution to the wind and blabs.

I'm at the Cerberus HQ now retrieving the Prothean VI. Will I get to go back to the Normandy and buy more weapons/mods before the final fight, or is there no going back now?

Absolutely this. I, for one, hope they don't can Bioware. They have created a number of games that have been incredibly successful - both monetary and creatively. One game shouldn't be the be all and end all for a company...

Nope.
I recall there were pretty clear warnings that it's the point of no return. You will continue from that point 'till the game ends.

I think that sums it up perfectly because, all youve seen so far in replies are from, hudson, a bioware exec and preistly, ex GW and that speaks volumes, from EA, it seems strange to me why there hasnt been writers from the game defending their artistic integrity, i would have thought they would have been the first ones to speak up, which is why i think the reply from the writer from bioware was an actual employee, because preistly jumped on it so quickly to dismiss it. If i one of the writers and i wrote it and and i thought it was right id be defending it, not having others speak for me. I dont think it takes sherlock holmes to see, how the grunts are being gagged, when you have the same couple of mouthpeices making excuses.

Not yet. The Extended Cut is supposed to be released this summer. And they said they won't be changing the current ending; just adding more "context and clarity" because some of their more "passionate" fans wanted "closure". They aren't changing the endings to preserve their teams "artistic vision".

I just beat it for the first time. I just walked straight into the portal and after the flashbacks Joker, ED-E, and Liara crash landed somewhere? I watched a video right after of someone turning left and going up the ramp instead of going straight like I did and his ending had Joker, Liara, and Garrus?

Who gets off the Normandy varies, but joker always gets off, and your squad mates seem to get preferential treatment when it comes time to pick who disembarks. (I had javik getting off, for example)

Garrus should have been there if it went by preferential treatment though? I always talked to him and had him in my squad. What's the difference between which portal you go to?

Oh, and you do get to freely walk around the Normandy before the final mission. I was able to buy some last weapons and mods.

One of the squad mates will always be your LI. I romanced Liara but suppose that I did bring Garrus and Javik to the bast battle, Liara and either Garrus or Javik would be on the Normandy. As for who steps out of the door I suppose it's the first guy you select for the team (they are always prioritized in cutscenes)

I'm glad I'm not the only person who kept thinking that was her name! I seemed to spend a lot of time correcting myself...

Kaidan disembarked from the Normandy with an annoying grin on his face. Considering the love of his life just crash landed somewhere bloomin ages away....he could have at least looked sad for her.... ;)
