new patch finished

I'd like to thank Obsidian for not bothering to release the change log before the patch was released. You'd think they'd be a little more sensitive / considerate given how patient we've been.
So much for that BS lie about releasing the notes when the patch goes live.

Sweet update and now the laser rifle is doing wonders for me I gotta try to find the unique gauss rifle and see how devastating it is. I haven't had any freezes with the latest patch yet. :celebration:

Here's everything I've collected about the latest patch, which currently is only live for the PS3 as of this writing. If you have anything concrete to add to this list, please post it.

- Companions now fast travel to the appropriate location when dismissed by the player
- Companions are now marked as indicators on the Pip-Boy map
- EC/ECP/MC ammo (standard) now has -2 DT
- EC/ECP/MC ammo (over charge) now has -5 DT
- EC/ECP/MC ammo (max charge) now has -10 DT
- Multiplas Rifle now consumes 3 units of ammo per shot (previously 6)
- Plasma Defender now consumes 2 units of ammo per shot (previously 3)
- All reputation safehouses have been updated with additional supplies (armor, weapons, ammunition, skill magazines)
- All-Purpose Science Suit (13 DT, 2 WG, +5 Science) can now be found in the Followers' Safehouse (previously cut content from Fallout 3)
- NCR Ranger Combat Armor can now be found in the NCR Safehouse
- HELIOS One infinite experience exploit has been fixed

Note: Need concrete numbers for the sniper rifle nerf. Have heard the DAM per shot has been lowered from 62 to somewhere in the 40s @ 100 skill. No idea about the crit multiplier or rate of fire.

Thank you for notes, but did they fix Veronica?

Yes, her leveling is now fixed. I forgot to add that to the list.

The Multiplas uses less MF Cell per blast now, but is its ammo capacity reduced as well?

Did they adjust the weight of any energy ammo in HC mode? It weighs a ton and makes playing HC EW a real chore.

Oh, lol...That's Hunting Rifle damage with it toping out in the low 70s with hand loads and perks. Trail Carbine with the Cowboy perk might be the better sniping weapon if that's true. Same damage with SWC hand loads, higher ROF and -6DT as a bonus.

Well, this isn't looking too promising so far... Maybe i should just uninstall NV for another year or so and wait for the community to fix the game.

Technically the actual value could be in the low 50s, it was more extrapolation from my part because all he told me was in fact that his Trail Carbine had a higher DAM since he had Cowboy. Would definitely like someone to verify what it is, though we'll likely have a full changelog before someone confirms it.

Is this sarcasm? Most of the posts were quite the opposite of patient....

Forgive me if this seems like an idiotic question but isn't the patch supposed to fix the bugs and errors and endless freezing and crashing rather than just piss about with ammo weight and weapon damage? I'm beginning to think they really are just having a laugh at our expense, literally. My patience, such as it is, ran out about 1 hour after installing the game back at the beginning of November.

A word of advice GStaff mate; Don't dangle the carrot if the salad isn't already washed and chopped. "Patch imminent" it says on Steam's news page. Imminent - you do know what that means, yes? I suppose its usage fits its definition as well as the bug fixes actually fix the bugs.

See me not laughing.

Yes it was sarcasm and I'm pissed they haven't released the change notes like they should have.

I'd like it very much if they posted an official thread about this soon. Or if a moderator just locked this one and told people to be more constructive.

That would be a bad move. There is no moral high ground they can take over this situation. The general bad feeling in the community is a direct result of lack of communication and mis-leading comments. It is as inevitable as the sun rising in the morning.

If people make a bunch of sarcastic comments I wouldn't mind nuking the thread from orbit. Sarcasm is bad, bad, bad!
