This should (hopefully) mean that it will be up on Steam very soon as there is not really a certification process to go through.

PS3/360 on the other hand will probably be at least a week before it can get through certification and be slotted into schedule.

Well, hopefully it doesn't make creatures essential again or silly stuff like that. They sure had enough time to test it this time. :P

I hope Gstaff or one of the developers can post a changelog soon.

Certification shouldn't alter anything in the patch itself, so a changelog should be valid now.

According to Gstaff on Nov 5th, the patch was having "finishing touches" and "going through certification" then. So if they can announce it as finished now then it has already gone through certification, so it better be up within the next day.

It's possible they submitted the patch for pre-certification testing, though the way it is worded they also simply could have been doing their own certification testing internally. However, it doesn't sound like that was the actual patch submission, as they posted later that they were still working on it (which would mean they would have to re-submit the content for certification anyway if any other changes had been made to the patch since their previous submission). I would not expect to see it on consoles this week.

I thought the customers did all the testing.

At least on the original product we did.

Hey, I could be wrong, I'm just trying to keep it real. That particular topic is something I'm very familiar with though and I'd be surprised if they got a fast enough turn around on it from either company to get it pushed out before next week. It's definitely a high profile title though, so anything possible.

That is a good link, partly for the video, partly for the news.

Mainly for the video :disguise:

On the one hand, I'm eager to see/hope for what the patch may do. On the other hand, I'm a little nervous what the patch may do.
I may wait a few days to see what people here say about it before going online w/Steam....

Yeah, I switched Steam to offline mode too, just in case. But I'm more concerned that the patch could stop the script extender and all the mods it relies on from working than anything else.

The work on this patch is quite extensive and while I don't know about any scripting system changes, I myself avoid most mods until major patches are completed and implemented in the game. However I do this for any game that I add mods to.

If changes to the exe are made, and they are if they are to fix crashes, a new version of NVSE will be required. Make a copy of your current exe and after the update use it until NVSE is updated and you can still enjoy the beefed up Energy Weapons.

Terminal Reality announced on 17.November that they provides their patch for Ghostbuster to Microsoft. At 1. December they wrote the patch is live.

Guess ~2 weeks is normal for certification process. It would be interesting what they really do at MS/Sony and if the publisher had to pay for it (what i heard only the first patch is free). I have a feeling this certification is more like a [censored]ting the publisher for whatever reason than really testing. They spend like 15 minute on testing if the update .cab file installs and the game starts.

Its about friggin time. I'm glad the corporate machine allowed some leeway for post release support that doesn't involve dlcs...

How is it a vague statement? the patch is finished and they sent it for verification by sony and microsoft. They can't possibly know how long it take them to do the process. Its not like DLC which is always posted on tuesday. Patches can come any day of the week.

Considering it is going to be Valve releasing it, I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out tonight. They are generally quite quick releasing third party patches.
