new patch finished

Finally the bourgeoisie have caved! The proletariat has won! Let us rejoice in the streets over the defeat of the capitalist pigs!

Alright now I'll be serious... I just got the update on my Facebook page and I couldn't be happier. Hopefully this fixes the problems that so many have been plagued with.

I thought the customers did all the testing.

At least on the original product we did.

This was my understanding of the situation. Hell, they even added some new goodies for testing in an earlier patch- and I'm tired of testing whether moving while reloading freezes me. :foodndrink:

Does anyone know some of the changes that will be included in this patch?

I seem to recall someone mentioning it will include a boost to energy weapons overcharged ammo impact on DT, with a possible nerf to sniper rifles

anything else?

Are you saying you don't like Team Fortress 2 because of its art style?

Maybe he likes shooters which are more realistic.
For me it's gameplay>realism so TF2 looks like a really fun game.

"We’ve come up with solutions for the Xbox 360 save issue folks are reporting, along with a number of other issues being reported. We’re currently running final testing and certification on a comprehensive patch for all three platforms (PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3), so we’ll have something available in the coming weeks. When we have more details, we’ll let you know."

They haven't let us know about any more details. I don't know where you're getting this info about boosting energy weapons or nerfing sniper rifles, but it's probably false.

Sawyer said it.

For those who are interested, the Sniper Rifle and Gobi Campaign Rifle are coming down into the realm of mortal beings with the upcoming patch. They are still highly effective in their intended roles, but are not the solution to all the world's problems.
For the upcoming patch, all energy weapon ammo types (including MF Breeder and including base types, but excluding Flamer Fuel) have built-in DT bypass. I have made other tweaks to individual Energy Weapons across the spectrum, but the modification to ammo effects is probably the most noticeable and significant.

So the next question is:

How long until the patch that will inevitably be needed to fix this patch?

I think the better question is what new bugs that don't require a hotfix will this patch add?

And everyone who's played previous Bethesda games know it will happen ;)

I hope it fixes the bug where ED-E travels with you, but stops following, stops attacking, and generally becomes a useless floating inventory camel and that's about it.

Hopefully this patch will fix most of the major issues and some of the minor ones and only add a couple of more bugs that can be finally fixed by another quick patch and no more issues

Did I say JE Sawyer isn't a reliable source or that I'm some all knowing sage? No I didn't, I said it's probably false.

I didn't ask him where he got the info because he just said he thought he remembered hearing it somewhere.

I obviously hadn't read these posts by Sawyer so thanks for the info, you angry rude little person.

I meanwhile have been enjoying NV greatly ever since I woke up early to play it on release day with very few bugs. It's unfortunate that you have problems, but not everyone does. :(

The DLC will be released on the 21st. The patch will either be on or before that date. I wouldn't count on it being before the 17th.

I attempted to post this as a standalone topic 2 times in two different and was told it belonged here so here goes

What was the number one thing fans wanted changed from FO3 ? FIX THE BUGS ! .Did they ... NO ! they added new ones . SO how could they have still sold FONV and made us the fans happy . ? Here 's what I think . I think they should have told us the Bugs where in the base engine code and couldn't be fixed without building a new engine and they would work on that for the FONV 2 But FONV was going to have some bugs . I would have still bought FONV and I think the critics would have been less harsh . I think the worst thing that could happen is the FO franchise dies because of loss of faith in the games creators . All this Patch stuff I hear sounds like a pipe dream . The Bugs in NV where present in FO3 if they haven't fixed them in four years what makes you think then could fix them in another four years ? Just tell the fans the truth and promise to try to make a new FO with a new engine and we will stick with you . Your fan Deathwind

I posted this in the hardware/software issues forum as well but basically if Fable 3 can be used as a metric, or this article on Kotaku is correct, the fix will be out late this week or early/mid next week (so, yes, before the 17th as one poster reported), as long as it passes certification of course.
