new patch finished

Did I say JE Sawyer isn't a reliable source or that I'm some all knowing sage? No I didn't, I said it's probably false.

I didn't ask him where he got the info because he just said he thought he remembered hearing it somewhere.

I obviously hadn't read these posts by Sawyer so thanks for the info, you angry rude little person.

And the pot calls the kettle black

I think the better question is what new bugs that don't require a hotfix will this patch add?

And everyone who's played previous Obsidian games know it will happen ;)

Fixed that for ya.

I posted this in the hardware/software issues forum as well but basically if Fable 3 can be used as a metric, or this article on Kotaku is correct, the fix will be out late this week or early/mid next week (so, yes, before the 17th as one poster reported), as long as it passes certification of course.

http://www.kotaku.com.au/2008/11/so_how_long_do_sony_and_microsofts_approvals_processes_take-2/

I've done my fair share of certification around this time of year, and I would wager you will see this patch sometime next week. Being a betting man, I'd put chips on Tuesday. I would be pretty surprised if either one of them managed a turn around quick enough to get it pushed by Friday, and I don't believe they will push on weekends (though my poor memory might be failing me on that).

I hope Sony's and Microsoft's approval processes don't delay the PC patch.

A list including Known Issues would be nice as well.

Applies to both of them, i guess. And i wouldn't be surprised if some of the engine related patching was done by Bethesda, as they have more experience and knowhow with it.

I hope it fixes the bug that makes some items that dont get removed from the inventory after you finished a quest unremovaeble. On the 360.

This should hopefully be up whenever the PSN store updates, along with the XBL marketplace.
Now we have to hope that this patch actually fixes some stuff.

I know they want to release this for all platforms at the same time, but if there is a delay on any one platform, I hope that would not impact the others release date for this patch.

If i understood the message correctly, they've sended the patches to the people who authorize them, and they are released as soon as they are approved. Meaning that no patch will delay the others.

Edit:

"We’ve wrapped up work on the Fallout: New Vegas patch and submitted it. We’ll let you know when it’s up on PS3, 360, and Steam."

Edit 2: the link seems dead

BioWare has released patches for the PC first multiple times because of Microsoft's and Sony's approval process. But, then again, all versions of their games didn't use Steam, but the Steam versions did get the patch at the same time...

I don't think they'd have any compelling reason to delay the PC patch just to line up with the console releases. I wouldn't worry about it.

So we do need to wait until the DLC comes out (or a week before).

Has Bethesda released a list of the changes the patch will make?

Gstaff said this yesterday in response to someone asking for patch notes,

"Once the update is out, we'll include notes. As noted earlier today, we've submitted everything to Microsoft and Sony... so we're close. It's likely to be this week or the next. It won't be today. "

I meanwhile have been enjoying NV greatly ever since I woke up early to play it on release day with very few bugs. It's unfortunate that you have problems, but not everyone does. :(

Me too, heheh...
200 hours +
Finished multiple endings, done everything.
Game is solid on (my) PC but console types still having challenges I hear...?
Anyway, funny how Facehugger and I have been there, done that - but they're just now getting ready to roll out The Patch. :P
The contrasting positions though are somewhat surreal...
Half the people just want their game to function - meanwhile the other half seem worried about NVSE
BTW I have over 1800 hours on one Oblivion character, dozens and dozens of mods, but no OBSE.
I feel any mods should function within the parameters of the standard vanilla game
(but it's just my $0.02)
Anyway NVSE should be the least of your worries - since they're still working on making the vanilla game run properly!
Regards

1800 hours? That's either a typo or it's um ... sick. That's just sick, man.

Well i have half of that across atleast a half a dozen characters, i suppose if you treat it as a "alternative life" rather than agame i guess it could be possible.
