I like some of the fixes but I'm going to remain skeptical of the PS3's issues not being fully fixed.

Damn, no mention of fixing the physics with house decoration. Looks like my fine collection of Dragon Claws will have to wait before being displayed.

Wait, the patch is out today? I don't keep up with patch news too diligently. My (PC) game's been largely bug-free. It'll be nice to see a patch, though. Maybe it'll fix some of the issues some people have been having.

Wait... now WE have to beta test patches?

I get that it's optional, but I think it's cute that you want me to "beta" test YOUR patches.

Seems fairly decent to me. There are probably some really minor issues that they fixed that they didn't bother mentioning, but it looks like they solved most of the frequent bugs people have been reporting.

Well darn.

I don't see anything about fixing the marriage canidates that don't work. I also don't see anything about fixing all the bugs in the quests to get the house is Windhelm. I don't think I've had any of the issues it does fix. Patch is kinda useless to me.

any word on the famous Markarth Guard bug. None of the so called solutions work for me and really hope Bethesda fix the problem.

I suppose what bothers me is I can name three common bugs not listed.

Skjor respawn, Markarth guards, doing a certain storyline quest for Vilkas before doing it for Farkas permanently ruining your ability to have companions and making the Companions quests no longer doable. A couple others too that I can't think of right now...

Looks good.

I hope this somehow makes Esbern come out of his little room. He won't open the door and no amount of waiting seems to help.

Darn, this update doesn't address the missing effects textures. Maybe next time!

hopefully this list isn't a complete list of whats being fixed in 1.4. If it is, I hope they'll tell us when we can expect 1.5.

I'm glad to see they are making some progress with bug fixes, and that the PC mod community
will finalliy get the tool kit neccessary to take this game to the next level, given time. So thanks.

I put my game play with Skyrim (modded quite a bit ) on hold back in early December.

At the rate things are going I expect I'll be able to return to a far more enjoyable game by perhaps
sometime late spring or early summer 2012. By that time the mod community will have time to perhaps
fix the companions and marriage systems to what they should have been in the first place.
If this attitude makes anyone angry, o well. I had to do the same with Fallout New Vegas and put it on
hold for 7 months post release until that game could be fixed properly. FNV was great for me and I'm hoping
that sometime in 2012 Skyrim will be as well.

SO, thanks for making progress.

Maybe if there is a next go around the gaming company can do it better first go around. This will be my last game I buy
from these guys on release though. I learned my lesson after 3 tries.

Thank you.

Your attitude is understandable, its a damn shame customers have to rely on the free work of other customers to get the game right. I dread the day when people will not put in the time and effort to make bethesedas games, better than what came out of the box. At the very least, we can all be thankful they release the construction kit.

Bethesda sure takes their sweet time with releasing fixes and updates. For this game to actually become generally bug-free (at least the most obvious and game-breaking bugs gone), without save game bloats I think we have have to wait till summer at least. For PC players it's an added frustration that the more they delay the CK the later we see quality mods. I would actually risk to take a bet on what happens sonner: GW2 -infamous for it's never ending development- coming out OR Skyrim leaving beta phase / becoming properly playable on all platforms.

have you guys seen the bug with the 'Forsworn Conspiracy" where completing the objectives out of order will make it so that you can not complete the quest as the required guard does not spawn(on the 360 version) I hope you guys can fix this bug have been stuck :(

"Improved compiler optimization settings (PC)"

I wonder if this means they implemented the performance improvements from TESVal and Skyboost into the vanilla game. I remember the author of TESVal saying in a thread on the subject that Bethesda could optimize the code on their end and improve overall performance to a far greater extent than anything he could do with a mod. Skyboost did wonders for my FPS.

What a mess. How will people that dont have internet access update the game? They literally have a broken game.

Don't almost every game nowadays release patches and fixes online?

I dont think they do this with consoles. At least directly from the companies.
