Patch 1.2 - Thread #2

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 9:18 pm

Gotta make the interface more user friendly while also creating decent documentation.
Not to mention stripping out the proprietary stuff, like Scaleform.

Why in the world would you push a patch that has a KNOWN game breaking bug? Is this entire company run by amateurs?
Pretty much.

Every single resistance. Disease, poison, elemental and magic do not work.

And they have updated both the .exe and the esm. Unless you made a backup of the whole Skyrim folder, you're stuck with the patch.
Alright, I haven't logged in from my gaming pc yet. How do I turn off auto-update? Do I just need to backup my ESM and EXE to prevent this patch from breaking everything?

Hey! Don't feel about about dragons flying backwards or resistances broken or continued stutters, lag, bad shadows, crashes, z-fighting, mouse problems.

At least we can hit ESC now to quit menus!

The vertical scroll seems way too fast compared to the horizontal. Maybe I just got used to it being slower but it's making it difficult to aim now.

I can also confirm that my summons don't like the magic.

Sound volume bug is still there; audio is very quiet w/ 2 CH opposed to 5.1. Using an ASUS Xonar card.

Excellent! This Patch 1.2 promises the most useless of all, it seems ... GZ Bethesda! -.-
No stutter fix,no CTD fix, no fps drop fixes, no shadows fix, no quests fixes ... you can know what the hell have you done in 2 weeks?
When you think of people prepared to take, instead of some hamsters who know how to edit INI files passing off their work as a patch?
It's been 19 days and still have not solved NOTHING.
Stop it to count the money in profits, and try to help us.
Forgive my arrogance, but I can not stand ... Paying for a game on day 1, and wait for almost 1 month (at best) to make it playable
I start to get angry and impatient ... seriously

All we paid $ 50 for a damn beta!
Let's take an example:

And as if I sell to Bethesda Software to program games, absolutely incomplete, it crashes every 10 minutes, rendering frighteningly slow LIMITED TO CORES 2, and using only 2GB of RAM.
I do not care if they have bought a lot of PC 8 core with 16GB of ram. These are my terms. If you're not well, I do not care. Meanwhile, I am manufacturer of the software you used, I pocketed the money. Wait at least 19 days, waiting for some kind soul will help. WITHOUT WARRANTIES.

Here's how we feel.
Do you like the example?
Apparently you have to behave as a vice ... Typical behavior of those who look only to their profits, and is oblivious to the customers.
If you deny my accusations with the next patch (1.3 maybe), but you'll have to adjust at least half of the reported bugs on this forum, I apologize personally with you.
Good job.

Could you stop reposting this idiotic post everywhere please? It's really annoying and completely stupid.

However, I do hope they hotfix this. It did make things kinda interesting again for my Dunmer warrior though. But really, it's a bad bug that should be hotfixed.

ffffff, topics got merged while I was posting; sorry if there's redundant info in here. Haven't had time to go back and read 9 pages of posts yet. <_<

FYI, for anyone not wishing to update: telling Steam "do not automatically update this game" (right click on the game in Steam -> Properties -> Updates tab) will prevent Steam from automatically downloading the update. However, if you're running Steam in online mode the next time you try to launch Skyrim, Steam will attempt to acquire the update then.

The only way to prevent downloading the patch while still being able to play Skyrim is to run Steam in offline mode (Steam menu -> "Go Offline...") whenever you want to play the game.

Please be aware that if you play Skyrim while running Steam in offline mode, it will not record your hours played, nor will achievements unlock. In-game chat also won't work, and while you can still take screenshots, you won't be able to upload them to your Steam profile until you go back into online mode.

Edit: I can confirm resistances are broken. Will be testing other issues shortly.

 :banghead:

Can anyone confirm what changes (if any) have been made RE: "General functionality fixes related to remapping buttons and controls." Have they allowed binding to the numberpad now? Can we now properly drop things / use dragon souls / bind things to favorites if those keys are rebound? And more importantly, how badly does it break http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=88?

wouldn't matter, maybe the disconnecting from the ethernet maybe, still steam changes your prefrences every 5 minutes, so they would probably just send ninjas with Wifi.

Is the y-axis slow mouse issue fixed yet?

no its still [censored].

They didn't even wink at broken progression quests like "blood on the ice" and "the thane of riften"

I r dissapointr

that is probably your pc configuration. your symptoms are typical of a mismatch between having a 2 or 5.1 speaker, and the card and windows being told you have 2 or 5 speakers. ensure that everything is all in sync wrt your actual speaker setup.

It's "fixed" as in I can't move my mouse up or down anymore. Only left and right.

That's just................I can't believe they would release it with a known bug. I thought that's why they were taking a bit longer to release the PC patch.

*sigh* Since I don't have Steam set to start in offline mode AND the auto updates for Skyrim are on, I guess the first thing it's going to do is download the patch? Wonderful, just wonderful.

Edit:

step 1. disconnect computer from internet

step 2. launch steam

step 3. right click skyrim > properties > disable automatic updates

step 4. profit

???

Thankyou. That's exactly what I'm going to do.

Seems fixed. Forced vsync off and didn't notice any mouse sensitivity variation from 40 to 140-ish fps.

so as far as I am concerned, we can only discuss 1.2 patch-related issues here, it turns out that topics related to other topics are deleted.

So back to the issue, do you think a hotfix will be released soon?
