In case anyone hasn't heard, the PS3 patch wiped out most resistances (except apparently diseases). I was really hoping this would be fixed before the PC patch is out, and I'm hoping Bethesda will confirm this.
Gstaff did mention they were investigating it. They may end up delaying the patch to eliminate the problem.

That will work. Or you could right click on the game in your Steam game list and click on properties - updates, then choose the option to not update the game.
I believe turning off auto updates will only prevent Steam from updating itself. When you launch the game, you will manually be initiating an update. If Steam is online, you can't play a non-updated game. The solution is offline mode.

You developers/manufacturers/programmers who keep making yourselves known need to just stop because it's not impressing anyone here and it's not like you can do anything for the game anyhow.

And I just have to ask myself...WHY WOULD I WANT SKYRIM TO USE ALL SIX OF MY CORES? Seriously you act as if, it's supposed to be this great, much needed thing that a game to be designed to hog every last bit of a PC's resource.
Well why shouldn't it actually use all our PCs resources?

Its why I use a high end PC instead of an Xbox.

Hi,

That suggestion doesn't work. The "don't update me" option is designed so that games you don't currently play / won't again don't get updated needlessly. The moment you launch a Steam game in online mode where there's an update available Steam will try to update regardless.

The safest thing is to simply stay in Offline Mode, however that's not useful if there are other Steam titles you play that require you to be online - multiplayer stuff for example.

Personally, I will stay in Offline mode until I chose to patch as I'm only playing Skyrim at the moment.

Cheers,

Scoob.

I didn't realise that applied to single player games :(

We don't know if the PC one does as well, as it's not been released yet.

Other topic was near the post limit so...

It's out, and downloading. I'll take a look to see if we have the same issues as other platforms.

Edit: I can confirm resistances are broken. Will be testing other issues shortly.

I don't think I've ever seen so much bollox about a PC patch that technically doesn't even exist yet.

I'm still using v1.1 (the original, not the Steam stealth one). Number 1 question is...does it break resistences? Go on guinea pigs...I'll wait patiently.

Resistances have no effect at all. All magic hits at full power regardless of what resistance the target has.(This includes yourself)

I turned off auto updating but for some reason it changed back to always keep up to date for no reason.. Oh steam you..
Luckily I still have the original .exe as backup. I'll see what the complaints for this patch are and porbably keep playing on the original version because that one has the least bugs for me and is actually playable with the 4GB thingamajig.

What about the mouse lag? Did they fix the lag? Make sure to set all mouse ini variables to default to test.

Better not update since it will be another month before 2.3 and fix for what patch broke.
