Patch 1.2 - Thread #2

Post » Wed May 23, 2012 12:19 am

In case anyone hasn't heard, the PS3 patch wiped out most resistances (except apparently diseases). I was really hoping this would be fixed before the PC patch is out, and I'm hoping Bethesda will confirm this.

Sorry to say, that patch is the patch PC users are going to be getting. Dragons are also broken in it, it seems (sounds like the clipping/flying code is broken - they fly backwards and through mountains for some folk!).

Nuts. If I go into Offline Mode for Steam, will that prevent the patch from downloading? If so, I will do that until this is fixed.

That will work. Or you could right click on the game in your Steam game list and click on properties - updates, then choose the option to not update the game.

Not all of us. :)

I can't wait to see the s*** storm that forms after the patch rolls out.

It breaks all types of magic elemental resistance.

It's 4 AM-ish in the Central Time Zone. I don't know of a set release time.

Amd Phenom II x6 1100T
XFX Radeon HD 6850
8 Gb Ram DDR3 Kyngston HyperX 1600 mhz
SO Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits

The game should run at 60 fps all time?, or is a problem of my PC?, because i got slowdowns at 40 fps, and is really unplayable.

^^ This. The forums here are likely to be very lively in another 12 hours or so.

As for when on the patch, I wouldn't expect it for another 7 hours or so. That would make it around 9AM on the US West Coast. Of course it could come sooner than that, but I'm expecting it to show up between 9AM and Noon. Also, a word of advice; back up your save game folder, just in case things get weird.

We'll likely be waiting until at minimum 9 am EST, but more likely 9 am PST because that is the time zone Steam operates in. Maybe we'll get lucky and they won't push the patch for the PC, but I figure they'll make us suffer equally. If only they'd just hand us the CK and let us fix the damn thing for them...

Amen to that!!!

PS: I don't understand why the CK hasn't been released?? Presumably they used it to write the game so why the delay?

As of 4:15 AM in the Central Time Zone, I don't thing Wednesday has arrived in Hawaii, and Australia dates don't count because of the International Date Line between here and there. But noon, west coast time, would be a good bet, I'd think. Only two hours before time to go home on the east coast . .

Excellent! This Patch 1.2 promises the most useless of all, it seems ... GZ Bethesda! -.-
No stutter fix,no CTD fix, no fps drop fixes, no shadows fix, no quests fixes ... you can know what the hell have you done in 2 weeks?
When you think of people prepared to take, instead of some hamsters who know how to edit INI files passing off their work as a patch?
It's been 19 days and still have not solved NOTHING.
Stop it to count the money in profits, and try to help us.
Forgive my arrogance, but I can not stand ... Paying for a game on day 1, and wait for almost 1 month (at best) to make it playable
I start to get angry and impatient ... seriously

All we paid $ 50 for a damn beta!
Let's take an example:

And as if I sell to Bethesda Software to program games, absolutely incomplete, it crashes every 10 minutes, rendering frighteningly slow LIMITED TO CORES 2, and using only 2GB of RAM.
I do not care if they have bought a lot of PC 8 core with 16GB of ram. These are my terms. If you're not well, I do not care. Meanwhile, I am manufacturer of the software you used, I pocketed the money. Wait at least 19 days, waiting for some kind soul will help. WITHOUT WARRANTIES.

Here's how we feel.
Do you like the example?
Apparently you have to behave as a vice ... Typical behavior of those who look only to their profits, and is oblivious to the customers.
If you deny my accusations with the next patch (1.3 maybe), but you'll have to adjust at least half of the reported bugs on this forum, I apologize personally with you.
Good job.

It's gonna be rough. I've been using my old non-steam .exe.

I don't want to have to deal with steam. But if I want this update, I'll have to.

Honestly I don't know why anyone really bothers to complain. You look at the track record and it is as it has always been and nothing will change. You will get three official patches and three official patches only and it will take a full year to get there. Meanwhile there will be one to two expansions (perhaps more, maybe this time none at all). Will these three patches address everyone's concerns? Probably not. They never have. But I am sure there will a trove of unofficial patches out there. We are already at 1.2 so expect one more to go. If more happens then that, then they obviously have improved on their support and deserve kudos.

Yeah steepledhat I am in the same boat as you concerning the old "no steam exe" and I have already backed-up all my 1.1.21.0 files in case 1.2 means big trouble so I can rollback to 1.1.21.0.
Also a backup of the savegames is a good idea I am just 7zipping mine btw: nice ratio (12% of ~2100mb) with LZMA2 so far!

do not try to make me laugh steeply! :)

I'm angry with Bethesda.
Other software companies like EA, promptly solved the problems of BF3 with the second patch.
Here the second patch we are still on the high seas.
I think I have every right to be angry ....
is not a problem relegated to ALL software companies.
At the moment I know only with Bethesda.
